The Mill Casino RV Park, North Bend, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean; paves; spacious sites; good utilities; good cable TV; spotty WiFi but free when it worked. Very dog friendly with a fenced, grassy off-leash area - complete with doggie bags and trash receptacle - Nice! Courtesy shuttle to nearby, walkable casino, and for other businesses in town. Excellence value for the facilities. There is also a dry camping area next to it. There is some road noise from Highway 101, but can't complain! We camped at The Mill Casino RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Bullards Beach State Park, Bandon, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Oregon does a great job with their State Parks! No WIFI or Cable TV, but who cares! Nice site in the B loop with screening from neighbors, but not their noise. It is a family friendly campground so there are kids on bikes and skate boards and lots of dogs. Very quiet at night and off the highway so no road noise. Hookups worked great; programs were being held at the amphitheater, and close to the Coquille River Lighthouse / beaches. Be careful in reserving just the right spot; angle of the driveway, and narrow 1-way roads . . . can be tougher to maneuver larger rigs, and there were some big ones in there! We camped at Bullards Beach State Park in a Truck Camper.

Deschutes County Fair & Expo RV Park, Redmond, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice and fairly new park with concrete pads and full hookups. Easy access from highway and easy to pull in and out with wide lanes and well marked directions and crosswalks. Some pull throughs; some back-ins. The cons were that there was no cable TV, and the wi-fi was temporarily unavailable. Very friendly welcome and introduction to the park. Dog friendly. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Deschutes County Fair & Expo RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Very nice location on the Wind River, lots of big trees and grass, spacious sites, pet friendly, cable TV, great showers and bathroom facilities - clean! Would definitely stay again! Snake River RV Park & Campground, Idaho Falls, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly reception. Older park with side by side pull through sites, back-ins with some of them water and electric only, very tight for larger rigs. Gravel sites. Clean; green with lots of trees - also a challenge for larger rigs to maneuver and get satellite. No cable, but good air reception. All you can eat pancake breakfast for $3. Free WIFI that was fast and reliable for our visit. Overall the park could use some updating, and price seems high but overall a good place to stay. We camped at Snake River RV Park & Campground in a Truck Camper.

Port of Newport RV Park, Newport, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Awesome location with a brewery and restaurant, and Aquarium within walking distance. Long fairly level pull through sites with some back-ins and some "pull ins" designed for motor homes; plenty of room and sites are paved. Good utilities; Good cable; No problem getting satellite. Perfect location for parking a boat at the marina with the boat launch next door. Excellent service checking in; and a very knowledgeable host. With a coupon from the reception, can ride the bus anywhere in town for free; otherwise costs $1! Highly recommend and we will stay here again. We camped at Port of Newport RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bandon By The Sea RV Park, Bandon, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Little hesitant after reading reviews, but find it quite nice - off the highway enough road noise was minimized particularly in the back section, nice long sites with plenty of room for rig and for truck. A few sites were concrete but most were gravel. Reliable services including 50 amp; very friendly folks; plenty of space to walk our dog. Didn't try the cable since we had our own satellite. While there are some more permanent residents, no worries or concerns, just friendly people. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay with other RV'ers coming and going . . . would definitely stay here again. We camped at Bandon By The Sea RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Make sure you have a site in the back - the front ones are the original RV park and are a little small and tight and closer to the highway.

Mad River Rapids RV Park, Arcata, California

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Long pull through sites - plenty of room for our 5th wheel and truck. Nice landscaping and generally clean appearance. Reliable services. Very friendly folks and while close to HWY 101, didn't notice much road noise. Utilities were at the rear of the site, so you might need an extra sewer hose to reach them. Hotel and restaurant literally next door - we didn't try the restaurant. Would probably stay again if in the area. Verizon reception fine; didn't try the free wifi. We camped at Mad River Rapids RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Yolo County Fairgrounds, Woodland, California

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Level, dirt parking lot next to fairgrounds. No services, no table - but 50 amp power, water and sewer all functional and area was fairly clean. It is a little pricey for what you get, but it was very convenient to visit family in Woodland and no other choices. Plenty big and roomy for the biggest rigs. Check out for events - we experienced a car show and quite the noise for one evening until midnight. No worries about security. Would stay again if needing to be in Woodland . . . . simply no other options without going further out. You can make reservations on line; or on site with an "iron ranger". First come first served sites, even with reservation . They do come around and check if you've paid! We camped at Yolo County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Desert Rose RV Park, Fernley, Nevada

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean park, with fairly level concrete sites in the front; gravel in the back. Front sites have grass and trees which is great. Very friendly service and we were guided to our site by the host. Free WIFI. Hookups all easy to use and reliable. About 4 miles from Exit 48 on I-80, but easy to get to and worth it. Some road noise but better than being on the interstate! Highly recommend. We camped at Desert Rose RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fishing Bridge Campground (NPS Campground), Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent location; great hookups; plenty of water pressure. Camping pads were asphalt and fairly level - some adjustment may be needed. Roadways were asphalt in need of repair; work was in progress repaving other loops that were currently closed for camping. Some noise and dust due to construction but current repairs will certainly help. Very close to the neighbors and maneuvering larger rigs a challenge - make sure you know exactly what length your rigs are as there are some sites that would be nearly impossible to get in even if the length seems right due to the surrounding trees. Very friendly staff; walking distance to one of the Yellowstone General Stores with lots of tourist stuff, some groceries, wine and liquor, lunch counter meals, and ice cream! Fuel station and RV/car repair service located there as well. Location to touring other parts of Yellowstone is perfect. Price is high but considering the location? Priceless. Thoroughly enjoyed our week here. We camped at Fishing Bridge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Truck Camper.

Las Vegas KOA at Sam's Town (formerly Sam's Town Casino & RV Park) , Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here on our way to and from Arizona for the winter. Perfect location for easy on and off access, and walking distance to Sam's Town Casino and all their restaurants and services. Free shuttle to the Strip and Downtown. Sites are very close with both pull throughs and back-ins. If you have a long rig and don't want to unhook, request one of the longer pull throughs in back. We used to be able to do that online but since KOA took over, we have to call them to make sure. Two small fenced dog runs with gravel, but there are grassy areas around the park. Even though on the Boulder Highway, noise isn't so bad in the back part of the park. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Las Vegas KOA at Sam's Town (formerly Sam's Town Casino & RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Holiday RV Park, North Platte, Nebraska

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Older park with mature trees; could not get satellite reception so did use the major cable. Narrow roads and big trees and big rigs might be challenged, altho' we watched some come in and out ok. Some investment needs to be made on infrastructure; dirt pads, very warped/splintery picnic tables; less than nice grass between sites. Close to the neighbors. Grassy area for pet walk and for tenters. Rate reflects discount for paying with cash. Friendly staff!!! Close to the Interstate so noise; but drowned out some with the air conditioning on. Fine for an overnight stay; easy access; and would stay here again. We camped at Holiday RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Western Hills Campground, Rawlins, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Good for an overnight stay. Far enough from the Interstate to lessen the noise; close enough for easy on/off access. Gravel lot; good hookups; nice wide lanes/pull throughs; big rig friendly, didn't use WI-FI or cable, but it was available. Rate reflects full hookups with no cable. Three fenced dog park areas and doggie bags, but little vegetation. Only grass was for the tenting areas. Overall fine and would stay again on an overnight stop. Friendly staff. We camped at Western Hills Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Fleming Park/Blue Springs Campground, Blue Springs, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Great county park campground! Spacious sites; good hookups; lots of trees and grass; convenient location. Probably the nicest public park we've ever visited. Friendly staff. Some sites angled so requires backing in from right, but plenty of room to maneuver and we got in easily. Would definitely visit again! We camped at Fleming Park/Blue Springs Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
