High Island RV Park, High Island, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean, level sites, very friendly owners (one of the owners made complimentary seafood gumbo with salad, bread and it was delicious). We stayed here a week so the rate is based on our weekly rate. There are world-class birding spots within walking distance. We'd definitely stay here again. We camped at High Island RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lost Maples State Natural Area, Vanderpool, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great park even though it doesn't have the highest number of amenities. The campsites are large and there's plenty of room between sites. A picnic table under a cabana is a nice touch. Campground is clean, well kept, and quiet. Lots of great hiking trails and some rare bird species are found here. Rangers are friendly and informative. I'd definitely come back here. We camped at Lost Maples State Natural Area in a Motorhome.

Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park), Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

The site we were assigned had power lines that drooped so low that our motorhome would have easily touched them had we entered the site. We took a different site. The new site was so off-level that our rear Atwood leveling jacks topped off while attempting to level and could not be retracted. This required a call to Coach-Net and a service call had to be made to have a mechanic dispatched. When we told the management of our change in sites and our current difficulty with the jacks, there was no response. The grounds are dirt and gravel with trash blowing around. We'll never stay here again and we wish you good luck if you decide to stay there. You'll need it. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Motorhome.

City Of Roses RV Park, Thomasville, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2011 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Check in was done by a nice gentleman so we expected a nice stay. So far (we've only been here a couple of hours) it's a bit uncomfortable. The good news is the price was right and they had pull through sites with 50A hookups with water and sewer. The bad news is that the surroundings were poor. From my rig, I can see 6 roosters that think it's 6AM and are sounding off as well as three small dogs that bark when anything/anybody moves. We're not even going to try the bathrooms. Most of the RVs are quite run down although there some nice rigs here (probably for one night only.) Won't stay here again. Although the price was right, I'd rather spend the savings on a more pleasant park. We camped at City Of Roses RV Park in a Motorhome.

Catalina State Park, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Fantastic Park! Cleanest bathrooms and showers we've ever seen. Great hiking and birding and wildlife programs. Quiet, plenty of space for large rigs. No reservations but they do have an overflow area (no hookups) that they stage RVs waiting for openings in the campground. We look forward to staying here again. We camped at Catalina State Park in a Motorhome.
