Olive Street RV Resort, Vista, California

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

The park is approximately 5 years old, situated off Melrose Dr, perhaps a mile from the freeway (highway 78) centrally located for many of the attractions offered in San Diego. My spot was #12, a drive through. Sites are close to the next site and have a good slope downward. The park has left blocks to aid in leveling. here is a winter - summer rate. We camped at Olive Street RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Riverside Resort RV Park, Laughlin, Nevada

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 3 nights, spot #515 on the upper level. The site was a back in, a large gravel lot with a concrete slab. All the utilities were in working order. The cable TV had been converted to a digital system that didn't work with my 2005 motorhome. A cable box is available from the office, I didn't try it though. The restrooms/laundry were clean. There is a fee for laundry. A shuttle is available to take you to the casino. We camped at Riverside Resort RV Park in a Motorhome.

The casinos are located along the Colorado River, River walk to many of them, also a water taxi for a fee to casinos beyond walking distance. We found the River View Restaurant was a good alternative from the buffet. Great prices.

Mission Bay RV Resort, San Diego, California

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

The park is a giant asphalt parking lot with trees and shrubs. It is conveniently located to the various San Diego attractions and beaches. The sites are close, but ample room to set up your chairs, patio mat, etc. They recently updated their cable TV system, so if you have an older model TV you'll need to leave a deposit for a converter box. I still wasn't able to get a picture. We camped at Mission Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pala Casino RV Resort, Pala, California

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for one night in spot 14. Check-in was smooth, plenty of room to park for check-in, all the staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. A ten-dollar deposit required for a card to access the pool, shower facilities. It is refunded when you check out. There was a staff member who met us at our site to assist with parking. This resort is newly opened, situated to the east of Pala Casino. There is shuttle service available to take you to the casino; we preferred to walk, less than 15 minutes. The sites are large; each one has a picnic able. They offer curbside trash pickup prior to 10am. It was a quiet resort, situated far enough from the highway traffic; street lighting wasn't harsh, closer to the ground. We will definitely return. We camped at Pala Casino RV Resort in a Motorhome.

High Sierra RV & Campground, Oakhurst, California

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 5 nights, Friday, Saturday rates are $2 higher for the premium sites. The park is located in the city, convenient for shopping/restaurants. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. The sites as indicated by other reviews are close, as are the firepit/picnic table to the adjacent site. The Fresno River flows behind the park, waterfall at the other end. The sites are a combination gravel and grass. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Champagne Lakes, Escondido, California

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This campground has numerous long-term to permanent residents. The grounds are very nicely laid out and well-kept. Some of the sites are paved, others a dirt/gravel mix. They are full hookup or have all the necessary utilities except sewer. The check-in staff & maintenance staff were very friendly, helpful. There are security gates in use at night. Park was very quiet, restrooms very clean. We camped at Champagne Lakes in a Motorhome.

Serrano Campground, Fawnskin, California

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here for two days, spot #42. The park is clean, quiet and park personnel friendly and helpful. The sites are very nice, some are sloped though. Restrooms/showers clean. The roads throughout the park are narrow. Walk to the lake is probably a half mile. There is a small convenience store close by. Bike/walking path runs through the park. Using your Federal Senior Pass card will get you a discounted rate. We camped at Serrano Campground in a Motorhome.

San Elijo State Beach, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

This is popular campground overlooking the Pacific Ocean and fills up fast. There are restaurants and fast food dining near by. The sharp "S" turn to get into the check-in kiosk is tricky. If you are not paying close attention you can rip the roof off the kiosk with your rig. Bull Taco has some excellent cuisine. The convenience market is well stocked. Showers and restrooms are clean; showers require a token that can be purchased at the ranger office. The laundry facility is located next to Bull Taco. The WiFi wasn’t available during our stay. We camped at San Elijo State Beach in a Motorhome.

Crystal Cove State Park - Moro Campground, Laguna Beach, California

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for one night. The park is situated on a bluff overlooking the ocean. There are numerous trails for hiking and biking. In order to get to the beach you have to walk or drive down a steep grade to the lower parking area, then walk through a tunnel to the beach. All the spots are generally level, with a gravel base. The dump station has three sites located near the ranger station, a nice feature. Restrooms are very clean, tokens required for showers, dispensers at each shower building. The closest grocery store is approximately one mile, Trader Joe’s. I felt the camping rate of $61.00 was excessive and increases in May, but it’s CA. We camped at Crystal Cove State Park - Moro Campground in a Motorhome.

Anaheim RV Park, Anaheim, California

Date of Stay: January, 2014 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for three nights. The park is approximately a two mile drive to Disneyland, and there are shuttles. I would opt for the shuttle as parking at Disneyland is expensive. There is a Walmart, several fast food restaurants, and service stations close by. There are areas to walk your pet. The laundry and shower facilities are clean and nice. There is a small heated pool and spa. Probably the only downside to the park is the noise from the freeway. We were assigned spot 422 on the western end of park. I would recommend spots in the center and to the eastern end. The office staff here are super friendly and helpful, complimentary coffee/tea, muffin, and USA Today paper each morning from 8 AM to 10 AM. We camped at Anaheim RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mission Bay RV Resort, San Diego, California

Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night, the park is located close to Interstate 5 and 8 for visiting attractions around the city. The sites are all asphalt with a small greenbelt and a tree between each site. The restrooms were nice, but could stand some updating; laundromat was clean. There is 24 hour security. There is a "snack shack" for breakfast/lunch items, a baywalk for walking/biking. Parking at your site for one vehicle, additional guest overnight parking outside the park for $5. I didn't try the Wi-Fi. The staff was very friendly. We camped at Mission Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Laguna Campground, Pine Valley, California

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This was a very nice campground located about one hour from San Diego. There were some hiking/biking trails. It was fairly quiet, each site had a picnic table and fire ring with grill on the end of the fire ring. Water was available through out the campground, just not at individual sites. The website says up to 40' motorhome, but it was a tight fit with our 34'. We stayed in the Shady area, but felt Meadow area had some larger sites. I looked in the bathrooms and they looked quite clean. For a campground this size they could use additional shower facilities. I only saw two buildings with two showers each. There is a fee to use them. There was no signal for our cellphone(Verizon.) The campground hosts were very friendly. We camped at Laguna Campground in a Motorhome.

South Carlsbad State Beach, Carlsbad, California

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for one night; this state beach is very popular, obtaining a site can be challenging. I booked through reserveamerica.com. There is a $2 savings for seniors. There are only about six sites that have hookups, water, sewer, currently no electric. The rest are dry camping. We noticed three sets of stairs that give access to the beach. There is a small general store and concession stand at the entrance. Make sure you obtain some shower tokens at the ranger station. You get two tokens for a dollar; a token is good for a three minute shower. The WIFI availability is within 150 feet of campground office. I didn't try it though for connecting, etc. The park only has two dump stations, which for a park of this size would be adequate if there was a waiting area available without blocking traffic. We enjoyed our stay and will return. We camped at South Carlsbad State Beach in a Motorhome.

Anaheim RV Village, Anaheim, California

Date of Stay: January, 2013 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 3 days at Anaheim RV village. The RV park is centrally located to Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, right off the I5 freeway. There is an entrance located off of Ball Road, very handy if you have a large RV or are towing. The park is clean; restrooms were very nice as were the laundry facilities. The spots are close together, though. The staff was very friendly, helpful. Shopping and restaurants are close by. Probably my only displeasure was there wasn't cable TV at each site. I felt that for the price charged this should have been included. They do have satellite TV located in the lounge. We would stay again when in the area. We camped at Anaheim RV Village in a Motorhome.

San Clemente State Beach, San Clemente, California

Date of Stay: October, 2012 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The park is located on a bluff overlooking the ocean. There are a couple paved trails down to the beach. I would estimate approximately 1/4 mile down to beach. We stayed for one night. It’s a popular RV park so obtaining reservations can be difficult. Most of the sites are drive through and paved. Each spot that I observed had a picnic table and fire pit ring. The spot we stayed at had electric (30/50 amp) water and sewer connections. Some sites don't have these amenities. The bathrooms/showers are clean. Showers will cost you 25 cents for 2 1/2 minutes. I saw no grocery stores or restaurants within walking distance to the park. We will plan a return trip and bring the bikes next time. We camped at San Clemente State Beach in a Motorhome.
