Riverland Resorts, Kingsburg, California

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

I lived in a cabin here for over a year and saw this "resort" literally fall apart in that time. They advertise a lake and fishing, but the lake dried up and all the fish were left to die and rot. They advertise wifi, and only a select few sites within the short antenna range can get it. They advertise ckean restrooms and showers and they are not. They advertise pool and jacuzzi, but the jacuzzi has been broken since spring of 2013. Nothing gets repaired, except for the restaurant bar, and that's a lot of fun on weekends with all the obnoxious drunks allowed to run around the park disturbing residents. There is no security, and the assessment fees we as residents pay gets us nothing but our holding tanks pumped out, and that is even hit and miss. The only thing that kept me there was the fishing, and now all that is left of that is the rotting carcases that the grounds crew refused to clean up. If I had to pull in here for an emergency, I would probably use the rest stop across the highway. Stay away and maybe the owner will clean up the park and concentrate on the resort instead of the restaurant. We camped at Riverland Resorts in a Campground Cabin.

Hearst San Simeon State Park, Cambria, California

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

I love this park! Have been going here for years, When we had a smaller rig we stayed at the bottom, and when we got too big we stayed at the upper sites. Both are great. I love the hiking trails, very kid friendly and both my boys learned to ride their bikes here. Just a great place with lots of good memories. We camped at Hearst San Simeon State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Used to really love this place, until they took the dump station out. Now its kind of a drag to RV. Other than that it is o.k. Here for more than a weekend, We camped at Crystal Springs Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

San Diego Metro KOA, Chula Vista, California

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Had a great time here, sites were level (we had a concrete pad). Pool and restrooms were clean, quiet park. Only drawback was we were invaded with ants the first night, but I think this area is nothing but a giant anthill and once measures were taken, no more pests We camped at San Diego Metro KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Goodnight's Lonesome Dove, South Fork, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2010 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We have been staying here for the past ten years, usually on an overnight stop to our main destination near Creede. Staff has always done above and beyond to welcome us weary travelers at anytime we have shown up. Nice peaceful quiet place nestled in the "Wolf Creek" canyon just before South Fork. We camped at Goodnight's Lonesome Dove in a Fifth Wheel.
