Hill's RV Park & Campground, Plankinton, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

I was surprised that the sites were level. Past comments apply and my WIFI worked well. If I come to the area, I will stay here again. You are on city water so the water is tested and is safe to drink. We camped at Hill's RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rushmore Shadows RV Resort, Rapid City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is members only park or potential members can stay if interested in hearing sales presentation. The sites vary in location. They have added new sites which are open and sunny. They offer a deal of $39.95 if you listen to a sales presentation for Resort and Coast to Coast membership. which this park is one of their five parks. They have 4 RV parks in Minnesota If you are considering a membership, you should know that you can get same deal as a resale on the internet for about half price. If you go to the presentation, you have to wait 5 years before you can buy a resale membership. The highway 16 from I-90 to the Resort is up a couple of long and fairly steep incline. As mentioned previously the WIFI ranges from bad to moderately good depending where you log on (very slow). They warn you about this when you check in. You would think that since there is so much complaining, they would fix the issue. It appears that they are focused more on selling memberships than improving older sites and the WIFI. We camped at Rushmore Shadows RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Wacky West Travel Park, Valentine, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older park and could use a little work. Check in was easy and the site we had was good. The manager lives on the property and is either in the office or available by ringing the door bell. I would stay here again. We camped at Wacky West Travel Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Adams County Fairgrounds, Hastings, Nebraska

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

AS mentioned before, this is a river rock gravel parking area. Full hook ups are along the back fence. The 30 amp sites are for W/E and are set in the middle of the grounds. They park you back to back and side by side. Four to a service pedestal. The dump station is easy in and out. The host is helpful and provides a Hastings Map. The showers and bath house is clean and you have private stalls with benches and locks. We camped at Adams County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived in the afternoon and the office was closed. I called the number posted on the office door and the manager was at the office in about 10 minutes. He assisted in locating a site. I only used water and power. I dumped as we left. We camped at Covered Wagon Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Iola RV Park and Storeage, Iola, Kansas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

The other two reviews are good on the basic park description. I was parked in site #2 and had good WIFI. I needed no lifts as the site was level. The park is grass with gravel roads and sites. There is a concrete table at the sites and some have a grill. I would stay here again if I passed through Kansas on US 54. We camped at Iola RV Park and Storeage in a Fifth Wheel.

Compton Ridge Campground & Lodge, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is part of Ocean Canyon properties. There are two adjoining camp grounds here in Branson. Branson Ridge and Compton Ridge. Compton Ridge has 45 sites and Branson Ridge has 178 sites. Branson Ridge is a membership Resort. We stayed at Branson Ridge and found the site OK. There are many trees and most sites have a small shelter with a table. If I could get the same site again, I would stay. We camped at Compton Ridge Campground & Lodge in a Fifth Wheel.

Downtown Riverside RV Park, North Little Rock, Arkansas

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

This is a RV park in the heart of Little Rock. They added level concrete pads in the premium sites. If you have a discount, you are placed in the older gravel sites. The park is gravel except for the concrete pads. The location is great to visit the many museums in the downtown area. We stayed two nights. There is a lot of road noise from I-30 due to the park being located under it. There is a nice bike and walking trail at the entrance of the park. We camped at Downtown Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a casino parking lot with E/W/S hook ups. It provides a safe location to overnight or stay if you are gambling. We used it for one night and will use it again if passing through. I did not see any shower / laundry facility. We camped at Isle of Capri in a Fifth Wheel.

Deerwood Inn Madison Campground, Madison, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this one night. It appears to be a much older campground with a number of permanent residents. There is a small lake and many sites for tent camping. The sites are fairly level and the RV sites have full hook ups. They have a tennis court and a motel. The motel appears to used by migrant workers and their families. We were passing through and it served its purpose of providing good electric, water and a safe location. We camped at Deerwood Inn Madison Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Mayberry Campground, Mount Airy, North Carolina

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights while touring the area. The park is easy on/off the interstate. They have trash containers throughout the park and also near the office. If arriving after hours, they have a drop box near the office. The internal roads and site are gravel. Our site did require that I add a 2 x 8 under one side to level. This is not unusual as most gravel sites need adjusting. The park is about 5 miles from beautiful Mt. Airy and the Andy Griffith (Mayberry) museum. The town has a rich history in music and if you time your visit, you might enjoy one of the many festivals. The management was very polite and helpful. There is only one bath house (two stools and one shower) and it is located near the office. There are no tables or fire rings at the sites. You will need to ask for one. There are two children's playgrounds and plenty of grass for walking the dogs. There are no trees so satellite service is good, however they have free cable. The Internet service is good except when traffic is high. They plan on adding another tower in the future. They keep the park very clean. Passport America discount is only good M-Th. It is a Good Sam park. I would stay here again. We camped at Mayberry Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Gettysburg Battlefield Resort (Travel Resorts of America), Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived to find they had the wrong dates on the reservation. They had 6 sites unassigned and were able to get us a W/E site. The water had low pressure, power was OK but low. We were guided to the site but not assisted in backing in, sort of pointed to the site. They had several activities planned as this is a member park and it appears that most people know each other. We camped at Gettysburg Battlefield Resort (Travel Resorts of America) in a Fifth Wheel.

Stateline Campresort & Cabins, East Killingly, Connecticut

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

The previous reviews have most of the points I saw. The sites are very close and you will need to watch out for large rocks and trees. They did not have a sewer hook up and yet charged to dump. The camp is now selling memberships again as the original memberships are now expiring after 30 years and being resold. If you forget to check out and return the entry card, you will be charged $50.00. There was no assistance in finding my site and the map is not to scale. The hook ups required a second water hose and an extension electrical cord. We camped at Stateline Campresort & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Blueberry Pond Campground, Pownal, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

First point is that you will drive down a gravel road to get to the campground. When we drove it, it was like driving over a wash board. It needed grading. We were met by the owner and his mother who pointed out our site. The site was level from all directions and large enough for our truck and fifth wheel. The sites are gravel and grass. The bath house and laundry were clean though aged. They have more tent sites than RV sites. The pool was clean and the area for activities were clean. They also had a nice cookout planned for Fathers Day. If they pave/grade the road I would go back. We camped at Blueberry Pond Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
