Skidaway Island State Park, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Previous reviews have covered most items. Be sure and take your rake as the sites are covered with leaves and the various critters that live in them. Nice self guided nature walk. We stayed here three days and were able to go into Savannah in about 15 minutes using the Truman Roadway. Tybee Island is a short drive. If you go be sure to see the fort and climb the lighthouse for the view. There is a public parking lot and a nice beach across from the lighthouse. However, if you purchase the Lighthouse / Museum ticket, you can park at the lighthouse parking lot for free. We camped at Skidaway Island State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fort Clinch State Park, Fernandina Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. It has sand roads and sites. I stayed in site 44 and rubbed my roof on a low branch. I will need to repair or replace it. Watch out for the trees. Some sites access will require that you enter the in opposite route than the ranger advises due to sharp curves in road. I did not see any big rigs in the wooded campground. The "Beach" campground sites are all back in and very close to each other. The Beach sites could handle big rigs. The rate listed was for a Florida Senior. We camped at Fort Clinch State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
