Date of Stay: October, 2014
We returned to this campground in October and to update my June 2014 review, this campground IS open 12 months a year. Despite their not listing this on their website and their rate chart for some reason ends on November 31, the people who run the campground assured us that they are again open 12 months a year. Last year they did close for the winter to do renovations. Everything is still good here.

There have been big changes at this campground over the past winter into 2014. The "T" sites that have been commented on for so long are now gone. The "T" spaces have been converted into two independent back in sites. There has also been the addition of cabins and a few sites with teepees (though we did not see any teepees set up in the sites that they are shown on the map - they may be set up as needed). With the changes there have been price increases. There is also a later check in time and an earlier check out time and they are no longer open 12 months a year, but will close now at the end of November for the winter. The campground has good hookups, sites shaded by large trees, good cable, good Wi-Fi, and sites that are fairly level. Restroom and shower facilities are spotless. The people who work here are extremely friendly and nice as is management and are very accommodating. The location is central to all attractions in the PA Dutch Country and backs onto a stream and farmland across the stream. To one side of the campground is the Dutch Wonderland Amusement Park, which owns the campground. We stay have stayed here before and will come back again. Without having a concern any longer of being given one of the "T" sites - as they are gone - this campground is even better than before.

Pine Hill is a very nice campground with level sites. Many of the sites are pull-thrus. The campground is right off I-78 and outside we could hear the traffic on the road but inside our RV we did not hear it at all. The cable service here is excellent with more channels coming through than were on their list (though some were duplicates). The WiFi was weak and was dependent on the device you are using. One tablet stayed connected, but cell phone trying to connect had an unusable signal. Area data service is limited in this area in general. Had there been stronger WiFi I would have rated this campground a 10. There is no pool but there is a small miniature golf course. There is a small playground. There is a game room, an ice cream parlor, a camp store and fresh, hot pizza was available in the store. Fire rings are available on request and we were offered one when we registered without having to ask. It was very pleasant in the campground. The sites are gravel but are level. The rate listed here is for a 30 amp site with cable. Sites are priced by 30 or 50 amps, cable or not(50 amp sites all have cable). All sites have sewer hookups. The people working here were extremely nice. We enjoyed our stay here and we will definitely be going back when we are going to be in this area again.

The sites are unlevel. Many go uphill at a steep angle. Many of the electric boxes here have fuses rather than circuit breakers requiring hooking up to live power. The power box we had was hanging off the pole. Getting into spaces require getting around large rocks that stick into the roads to the sites. We have a small motorhome and it was difficult. Driving through the campground at night can be hazardous because of this. Much of the campground is aged and shows it. Office staff/management is very disorganized and inconsiderate. We will not go back.

This is a very nice campground in the mountains in the woods so it is quiet. It is rustic but that is what makes it nice. Be careful about what route you take to get to the campground and be sure to check the warning that is on this campground's website (not the KOA site) about what routes to avoid. The campground was clean. The sites were adequate. The roads and spaces in the campground are gravel. The space was fairly level. The wifi was good, the cable selection was just fair but the reception was good. We were able to get cell service on both a TMobile phone and a Spring phone in the campground. The couple who run the campground are very nice and check in was quick and easy. The campground is small with just 54 RV and Trailer sites and this really is the only campground near Monticello and Charlottesville, so make reservations in advance. We will definitely be going back again!

The campground has recently been redone and this can be seen in the rest rooms and facilities, which were very nice. The space we had was not level and looking at vacant spaces, these did not look level either. The campground is located right off of I-95 and you can see the trucks and cars going by through the trees. Outside our RV you could hear the traffic but we did not hear anything when we were inside. There is a small swimming pool and playground. The sites are gravel and the campground is wooded with plenty of shade trees. The Wi-Fi was good and the cable TV selection was excellent. The people at the desk were very nice. If the space had been level, I would have given this campground a rating of ten.

This should be a very nice campground, and it is, with the exception of the roads within the campground. Driving through this campground is an obstacle course of large potholes, ruts, large rocks close to the side of the roads (at tight turns) and trees also tight to the road. There are also no lights at all on the campground roads at night - which could be considered good by some but terrible if you have to drive in after dark. It is also difficult to find the entrance from the road at night. The sites are gravel and ours was not quite level. If you have kids the facilities are great. If you come during season or on a weekend off season you must wear a wristband at all times. There is also a $4 charge per person that must be paid whether you use the facilities or not - again this depends upon when you are there. Wi-Fi was very good and the cable TV selection was the best that we have had so far. The electric box was a bit dated with a glass screw in fuse rather than circuit breakers. Everyone working here is very friendly. The "rangers" wave whenever they pass. The roads within the campground need serious work. Holes need to be filled in and every road needs to be re-paved. We choose this campground because the reviews here were somewhat better than the other alternative campground in the area. It is likely we would go back, but only for this same reason.

We stayed at this campground twice in 2011 (once in the summer and in December) and for a number of days each visit. Both stays were excellent. The people at the desk are very nice. The campground is large and each site is paved with shade trees all around. It is a very quick trip to Colonial Williamsburg via Interstate 64. All hook ups worked well. Restrooms and showers are in the center of the campground - and there should be more of them, but with our own facilities this was not an issue. Wi-Fi is strong all over the campground. Cable includes a number of movie channels. There is a nice swimming pool and various sports fields. We looked at several of the campgrounds in Williamsburg, and to us, this looks the best - and we enjoyed our stays. We will definitely be going back.

We have been to this campground several times in all seasons. The people who work in the office of this campground are WONDERFUL and very accommodating. The campground is in the heart of the Pennsylvania Dutch Country. You are looking at an Amish farm across the stream that runs across the back of the campground. It is right next door to the Dutch Wonderland kid's theme park. It is easy to get to any of the tourist attractions in this area. The campground is clean and so are the facilities. There are plenty of restrooms and showers and there are also several family restroom/shower rooms. There are plenty of trees for shade and the campground with the stream has a pleasant, woodsy feel. Wi-Fi is strong all over the campground and the cable has a good selection of channels. All hookups have been good. We have been in a space near the roller coaster and it does start at about 10 in the morning - we could not hear it inside our RV and only was aware that it was running when we went outside. There is also no noise from the road. Some of the spaces in this campground are "T" spaces and these can pose a problem getting in and out of. You can request a regular site if one is available. Some sites are slightly off level. We have been in spaces here that were exactly level. If all sites were level I would have given this campground a rating of 10. We will definitely stay at this campground again. I have to emphasize again how nice the people who work here are!

Very nice campground and very convenient to Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens (less than 15 minutes away via Rt. 64). All sites are cement pads and our site was perfectly level. There is grass between the sites. The rate we paid reflects the weekly rate - stay six nights get the seventh free. Water pressure was good. Electric hookup was good. Many cable channels including a number of movie channels. Cable reception was clear. Wi-Fi was strong at the site. There is a large swimming pool that looked nice and also sports/games facilities - lots for the kids and family to do at the park when not touring the area. There is only one bathhouse located in the middle of the park. Very tall pine trees are interspersed through the sides of the sites. The RV park is large and private from the residential road that it is located off of. It was not difficult to find and my GPS went directly to the entrance. We heard no road noise from Rt. 64 inside the park. Staff were very friendly. We will definitely stay here again!

The campground is very nice. We recently stayed here. The lady running the campground was very accommodating and very pleasant. The wifi signal was strong. The bathrooms were well cared for. The space was slightly off level. The spaces are gravel with grass to the side and trees for shade. The electric power was good, as was the water pressure. All of the sites have full hookups - some have 50 amp - and some have 30/20. No one under 16 is permitted here - which was no problem for us. Pets are allowed. You are right in the middle of the Amish Farmlands here and it is very pretty all around. It is very quiet. The only thing missing is cable TV. The price in this area cannot be beat. We would go back again.
