Stayed in the tent section and the restrooms were always dirty or need of repair. Rv section looked a little cramped and some of the tent sites were too. Nice pool and clubhouse. Good if you are going to the park since they have shuttles.

Date of Stay:

Only 2 showers and 2 toilets in each men and womens for such a big park. Awkward entry to restrooms as you must walk past everyone in the large activity room. Rough road, no recycling containers, no pool, lots of long-term campers. Good location and setting, can hike or Mtn bike out the back gate. Good wide sites, and drives. No real trees.

Date of Stay:

Nice level concrete pads, could use a little more vegetation around the park, sites are a little close together ok. The best part of this campground is close proximity to businesses and the beach. If you ride your bike, you're at the beach in 5 minutes. Good customer service. WiFi not great, only 3 showers 3 toilets for entire campground resulted in waiting.

Good mix of riverside, sun, and shade spots. Nice helpful employees. Enjoyed the.pool. Trolley stop inside park. Pretty location and convenient. Sites weren't huge but typical. Clean, showers with good pressure.small game room.

2 separate campgrounds within the park-the River is shaded and Beach is completely exposed. Park is spread out and we drove a lot but they rent bikes and there is lots to do and see. We stayed at the River Campground and could hear lots of industrial noises at night.

We had a great time but we stayed here during the week and I can see how things could.get a little crazy over the weekend. There are lots of ATV trails along the river. The property is huge and staff were friendly. Canoe rentals, game room, pool. Close to town, good fossil hunting.

First stay at a KOA and was very impressed with the quality and amount of amenities. Beautiful lake, convenient to shopping. Good hiking, rec areas, some shade. Nice people. Very clean. Will come back.

Unique, natural. Great place to hike. Most of the beach is only accessible at high tide. Good bath houses and play areas. Spacious sites towards the front. Beaufort, light house, and pier area are interesting.

The state park is situated on a peninsula and is quite large, however the campground itself is laid out so that it is somewhat crowded. Since some loops are on a hill-side, there are many sites which feature great views of the open water of beautiful lake Hartwell. Some roads are rough and sites can be small. On Memorial Day it was very busy, lots of kids. Good place to hike, excellent picnic area, activity field, swim beach.

This park was fine: but frankly after seeing another (family) Ichnetuckee campground, I wish I would have stayed there instead, since it was in a more tranquil setting. This one is on the main highway, however it is the closest to the tubing area as you can get. The people were very nice and rented tubes/rafts on site. Very clean and spacious restrooms.

Very unique place: huge! Beautiful grounds: river with beach, lake, fields, shade trees, Spanish moss. Bring your bike, horse, canoe or just hike. A little buggy last week but enjoyed it. Some restrooms out of order as they were recovering from a big festival.

The good: location to popular beaches, decent shade in 2/3 of the park, quiet, clean pool area, nice small dock and pavilion on creek/marsh, shaded picnic pavilion at pool, front portion of park decent size sites. 15 minute walk to beach 2 blocks. The bad: lots of ants in my site started up my camper within the 3rd day. The REALLY bad: bath-house with overflowing toilets, no ventilation, no air conditioning, nasty showers. Hey, for my $60 per night: can you hire someone to clean the restrooms once a day? The weird: the "club-house" with no amenities.

Fun place to camp. Save your money on the high $ attractions and crowds and discover the free ones and the natural beauty of the park. Nice shuttles around the park. Great hiking, biking, relatively close to downtown Atlanta.
