Country Acres Campground, Gordonville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed on site #922 - a FHU back-in very large corner site with gravel pad and vehicle parking pad. All hook ups worked fine including wi-fi and cable. The sites as well as the campground itself is landscaped beautifully with lush green grass and gorgeous white pines.

Check-in was fast and pleasant. We arrived three hours ahead of check-in time and the lady checking us in could not have been more gracious and we were given a different site than what had been originally assigned but we feel we got the perfect site.

Our site was in the newer section of the campground. We camped at Country Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Frontier Town Family Campground, Berlin, Maryland

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

In two words: not impressed. I suppose it is what it proclaims to be: a family fun campground. It's not a place to go for peace and quiet. We camped at Frontier Town Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The Refuge on Roanoke Island, Wanchese, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Small, mostly permanent campground with dirt roads. Transient sites back up to the pond with nice views. Water pressure, electric and cable TV were fine. Wi-Fi was hit and miss at best. Manager tried to reset the Wi-Fi numerous times with no result. I would advise you to try to reserve a site starting from site #6 to site #15 to get as far away from the traffic noise which can be almost unbearable. The Wanchese Seafood Industrial Park is located at the end of the road and big trucks as well as 18 wheelers travel this road from early morning until late afternoon. Overall, it's an ok campground albeit too expensive for what few amenities are available. They know they are the only campground in the Nags Head area, unless you want to head down to Hatteras Island, and they can get away with their ridiculous prices. I don't think we would return, opting instead for Hatteras Island campgrounds. We camped at The Refuge on Roanoke Island in a Travel Trailer.

Holiday Trav-L-Park, Virginia Beach, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We stay ONLY in the Super Sites. We were on site #823 which is on the first row; end site. It was a very large site with enough space between sites to fit in another RV. The super sites are all paved with a lovely circular patio that included the largest picnic table with backs I have ever seen. There was also a fire "bowl" on the patio. The super sites all have cable TV which was strong and offered numerous channels. I'll reiterate what another reviewer stated. Jet noise can be loud but we just saluted each one and said It was the "sound of freedom". The reason for the 9 rating is because parts of the campground (sites) seem uncared for and there is a $4.95 daily charge if you want Wi-Fi access. It's through Tengo Internet and I feel for $54.00 a night, Wi-Fi should be included if the campground offers Wi-Fi. I will not pay for Wi-Fi at ANY campground. I just used the 3G on my iPhone. We camped at Holiday Trav-L-Park in a Travel Trailer.

Castaways RV Resort & Campground , Berlin, Maryland

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

First off, we were here on a special they offer until May 15, 2011 in which if you stay during the week you pay for one night and get the next night free. So we actually paid $34.00 per night instead of $68.00. Great deal Castaways! This RV Resort is spectacular! The entire campground is very nice but the Club Castaways gated section is our favorite. We had a direct waterfront site (#12B) which was at the end of the row at the water. Nice roomy sites with a separate parking pad for your vehicle. Grassy sites with picnic table, fire ring and grill. Views of Assateague Island and Ocean City, MD. Very good cable and strong Wi-Fi. Water pressure was very good as well as electric current. I can't say a negative thing about this resort and yes it is a camping resort. I'm sure in the summer it is one very bust place but we were here the early part of May and it was peaceful and quiet. Excellent job Castaways and extremely friendly and out going staff at check-in. Made us feel very welcomed. We camped at Castaways RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.
