Highline Trail RV Park, Boulder, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This park has huge sites; we could have parked four of our truck/trailer combinations in it and still had room. The lady in the office was very helpful in answering our questions about off-road trails in the area.

If I'm in the area again, I will definitely stop here. We camped at Highline Trail RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

South-Forty RV Park, Marysvale, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Cleanest restrooms/showers/laundry I have seen, although showers require quarters. The sites are all pull-throughs and all the same size: about 71 feet x 30 feet and they are level. Some shade . Nice dog park. If you are an off-roader, you can ride out of the park and hit the trails without having to load up your rig on a trailer. We camped at South-Forty RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Kaibab CampeRVillage, Jacob Lake, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Made the reservation five months in advance and arrived to find I got the worst site in the park; barely long enough for my 19' travel trailer and right by the entrance. Also not very level. As we were getting unhitched, the two large dogs in the trailer next to us barked and whined and continued intermittently until the owners returned late afternoon. I went to the office to ask if I could have a different site; the answer was a very rude NO, unless I would take water/electric.

The second day, we returned from the North Rim to whining, howling, barking, so obviously, nothing was done to inform the owners of the dogs not to leave them alone again. (The information sheet each camper gets at check-in specifically states animals must be quiet and not left unattended.)

I travel with four dogs, but they go everywhere with us, as we know they can be a nuisance. It is up the campground to enforce the rules; they failed.

Perhaps you will be luckier here than I was. We camped at Kaibab CampeRVillage in a Travel Trailer.

Packwood RV Park and Campground, Packwood, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Very old neglected park. It's only good feature is proximity to Mt Rainier south entrance. Management is friendly but that doesn't offset park's dismal lack of maintenance. Also Management is inflexible and not customer service oriented.

Warning signs to pick up dog poop but there are piles of elk poop everywhere. We camped at Packwood RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Whispering Spruce Campground, Golden, British Columbia

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

So much to dislike and we were there 7 nights. Very old park which has been neglected for a long time. The good: excellent WiFi, easy in/out, new laundry equipment. The bad: site was mostly dirt. No gravel for years. Door opened to a tree a foot away. Park is 100 feet from Canada's Highway 1, main east/west route across Canada. Park is on a grade of the highway: eastbound 18 wheelers in low gear at max RPM; westbound trucks are on their exhaust brakes 24x7. Noisiest park I have stayed in.

Showers/washrooms are very old, not very clean.

Should be considered a desperation one night only park.

Park apparently has only 2 employees; one is friendly, the other should find another line of work. We camped at Whispering Spruce Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Waters Edge RV Park & Pizzaria (formerly Josephine's RV Park), North Fork, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great little park. Only 9 back in spaces but adjacent to the north fork of the Salmon River. Wonderful owners. If they have enough demand, they make a great pizza which you can eat on a deck over the river. Traffic noise is the only reason I didn't give it a 10. We camped at Waters Edge RV Park & Pizzaria (formerly Josephine's RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Columbia River RV, Portland, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park is mostly semi permanent/permanent residents. Only a few spaces seem to be for transients. Paved interior roads, concrete sites, well-equipped laundry. The park is situated not far from the outbound runway of Portland Airport and the jet noise goes on from 6:00 am to 12 midnight. Park is okay for a night stopover but the noise gets old quickly. We camped at Columbia River RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice, quiet small park just off I-5. Easy to find, easy in/easy out. Family cafe across the street. Rate is PPA 6 days and Good Sam's 2 days. Paved interior road, concrete site. Ireland's Ocean View RV Park, Gold Beach, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This small park is right next to the beach, 100 feet through the sea grass and dunes. The park is old but the interior road is paved. Surprisingly quiet for being so close to Hwy 101. Rate is based on a week's stay. Easy to find, easy in, easy out. We camped at Ireland's Ocean View RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is PPA. Nice park with easy access. Less than a mile from Target and Walmart, In-and-Out Burger, fuel, etc. Many permanent residents toward the back of the park but all units well kept. Would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Desert Willow RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Coleville/Walker KOA (formerly Meadowcliff Lodge & RV Resort), Coleville, California

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

A beautiful small park, immaculately kept. Owners live on site and everything is managed well. Since we were here out of season, we had the park almost to ourselves. There is some road noise as the park is on CA Hwy 395. There is an area farther back (all back-ins) where it is quieter. Would absolutely stay here again. We camped at Coleville/Walker KOA (formerly Meadowcliff Lodge & RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Point Hudson Resort & Marina, Port Townsend, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Very unusual park. It's owned by the municipality and sits immediately adjacent to the marina. Grass sites, gravel roads. There was a mix-up with our reservation and we had to move after the first night, but they didn't charge us for that night. Very friendly management. Spectacular views across Puget Sound to the Cascades. Sites on the loop are easier to get in/get out. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Point Hudson Resort & Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

Rainbows End RV Park, Sequim, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This is a gem of a small park. Beautifully maintained, with the cleanest laundry room I have seen. Very friendly and very helpful park employees. Excellent fenced dog park with toys and a plastic swimming pool. Gravel sites which are generally level. There is a certain level of road noise as the park is adjacent to US 101. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Rainbows End RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Quileute Lonesome Creek RV Park, La Push, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2013 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

If you don't like dogs, you may want to stay somewhere else. Dogs are not leashed. That said, this is a wonderful park with a stunning setting. Our site was directly across the interior road from the beach. Gravel interior road, gravel sites. There's a small grocery store on site, as this park is 14 miles from Forks. We camped at Quileute Lonesome Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
