What a fabulous and convenient campground! If you are visiting Mesa Verde National Park, this campground is very close to the entrance. You drive 15 miles to get to the Visitor Center in the park, so it is great having "home base" this close. The campground only opened for the season a few days before we arrived and they worked like busy bees getting everything just perfect. And it showed. They have new tile bathrooms with big stall showers - best we have seen at any campground. The laundry room is big and clean, too, with good sized washing machines. We loved the owners and their staff, who gave us good advice about checking out Absolute Bakery in Mancos. Perfect for breakfast. We extended our stay here, as the internet worked smoothly and our site #1 looked out Mesa Verde, wonderful for evening views. Don't miss staying here!

We stayed here based on the good RV Park reviews, but I was somewhat disappointed. Most of what had been said was true, as a lot of attention has gone into the office and amenities. I felt like they have forgotten about maintaining their campsites. The wind was wild, which was not their fault, but the dirt gravel near the campsite's eating area, blew grit everywhere. The picnic table's paint was peeling badly and one end of the bench was rotten. Landscape timbers that mark the campsites were rotting and not sure why they ever painted them, as the paint was semi-worn off and looked shabby. Our view from our campsite was that of a factory across the street. The camp has had the KOA Presidential Award for the past five years and I wonder what the criteria is for receiving this award. We have been on the road for two months and this is my least favorite campground of the whole trip.
