About auntyj

I am a "retired" housewife...really, we never retire. My husband and I bought a motorhome several years ago and have done some traveling since then. I look at reviews on this site, and use them for making decisions about where to stay. I like to sew, quilt, paint and write. I walk everyday.

Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground, Yuma, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this park twice on our recent trip. It is a very well run park, with many amenities. We were so thankful they had a repair shop and were able to get our hot water system running. They are friendly and helpful. They have a nice camp store. The showers, at least the ones I used, were very nice, tiled and private, with plenty of space for clothing and other toilet articles. The first site we stayed in was a little muddy due to recent rain in the area but the last one was very nice and had a paved pad. They are big rig friendly and have plenty of pull thrus with full service. They have a swimming pool and a fishing pond. I had nice walking there, up and down hill, which was good for me! they will even deliver Digiorno pizza directly to your motorhome. They have cable TV as well as wireless. They had a nice brochure that detailed everything about the campground as well as the surrounding area, including restaurants and shopping. They had a very nice laundry available as well. We camped at Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are a number of good restaurants in the area. Our favorite was Patty's Restaurant. The fried chicken there was outstanding, and we ate there three times! Smarder's was also good. There are a number of Civil War sites in the area, a State park and some nice driving trails.

Grape Country RV Park, Altus, Arkansas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this park twice on a recent trip..outgoing and on the last night before coming home. It is laid out well, and spaces are long and have full hookups. It was very quiet, and dark, two things I always look for as I am a light sleeper. The owner was very friendly and came by both times to see if we needed anything. He gave recommendations for restaurants nearby, and we went to Weiker German restaurant. The food was wonderful. At this park you pick your own spot, and leave the money (cash or check) in a box on the office wall. He doesn't take reservations or do credit cards. But I would definitely stay there again. They are right in the middle of Arkansas Wine country, and are a working vineyard as well. There are a number of vineyards nearby with wine tastings available. We camped at Grape Country RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Definitely go the the German restaurant. Also, there are a number of nice scenic byways to explore. We didn't have time for much of that, but will do it the next time, notably Petit Jean State Park with a waterfall.
