This campground is here for one purpose. It is for people visiting nearby New York City. The $60 price pays for the desirable and convenient location. Once you step outside the campsite you have access to NJ light rail (300 feet) and the PATH train system (about half mile away) giving you fast access to New York city and all its tourist attractions. There is also a ferry boat service from the nearby car park to New York which operates during weekday rush hours only. The place seems to be reasonably quiet and safe. Picnic tables are provided for people who prefer not to use the 1000's of restaurants available in nearby New York City. If you don't like the spartan campsite then try staying in one of the NY hotels for $400 per night.

A superb campsite with free Wi-Fi, swimming pool, store, and regular public bus service to the DC Metro system. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Whether the $60 price is reasonable or not is a matter of opinion, but this campsite is definitely the most family friendly campsite I have visited. I will be back next year!
