Sandpoint Edgewater Resort RV Park, Sandpoint, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small RV park attached to the Best Western next door. Use of the hotel's indoor pool, hot tub and shower/bathroom is allowed. If you book here realize that it is directly adjacent to a busy rail line, upwards of 40 freight trains a day. So if you are sensitive to noisy trains, probably not for you. Sites are basic, but hook ups worked fine. It is right next to the lake. A swimming beach and city park right there. Can walk to town for food or drinks. Is it a fancy park, no it isn't. We didn't mind the trains(these are 2-4 engine 100+ car trains). We will be back as the lake is spectacular and works for us. We camped at Sandpoint Edgewater Resort RV Park in a Motorhome.

Marina Dunes RV Park, Marina, California

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $71.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here before. Hook ups are old, but we were told that they are getting all new hook ups installed for the electrical, water and TV. New lighted single units. All the trees are getting trimmed too. It is about a 20 minute walk to the beach on a sandy trail. Not a wading beach, looks like some currents there. Dog was off leash with no issues. If you have a car a short drive to stores or a bit of a walk. We camped at Marina Dunes RV Park in a Motorhome.

If you have a fixed dish sites towards the top have a clearer view, our site found signal ok. There is a restaurant at the time share resort next door with a bar easy walking distance if you want dinner out. It is pricey though.

Half Moon Bay RV Park and Campground, Half Moon Bay, California

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

The place is nothing to get excited about, it is pricey but its saving grace is the pub/restaurant next door. Seems like many of the sites are permanent residents so you get all the fencing, clutter around that goes with it. People across from us must have had 6-7 little dogs than ran around in the fence area enclosing the site and barked nonstop at everything. Place has potential if it gets a facelift. Dusty park with too many people living there. If you have a car coastal access is fine. We camped at Half Moon Bay RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Los Angeles / Pomona / Fairplex KOA, Pomona, California

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

We stay here for the NHRA races every year, it is an ok place with half of the spots apparently long term residents. If you have a roof mounted dish site placement is important as trees are in the way. If you want satellite signal either ask or have a portable unit. Morning traffic noise is there too. Hot tub was nice and bathrooms were redone. Staff was polite too. We camped at Los Angeles / Pomona / Fairplex KOA in a Motorhome.

Moss Landing KOA Express, Moss Landing, California

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $68.00
Overall Rating:

We have been coming here for years and the staff changes like the weather. It is close for us and we love the beach in walking distance. Nice off leash beach for dogs. You have a great produce stand close by along with restaurants as well. Small KOA so reserve if you're coming on a weekend. We camped at Moss Landing KOA Express in a Motorhome.

Avila / Pismo Beach KOA, San Luis Obispo, California

Date of Stay: November, 2014 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here over the Thanksgiving Day weekend for 4 nights. Our site backed up to a grassy area. We didn't have room to put our awning out but other sites seemed to have more room. I would ask for a specific site to meet your needs. The pool was supposed to be heated but heater was broken and they couldn't get anyone out on a holiday weekend. Hot tub was fine and the pool area is nice. They did a morning breakfast which was a good value and it was tasty. They do have a dog breed policy but doesn't seem to be enforced, well behaved dogs welcome. Our dog had a great time playing with another dog. Office sells beer and wine. Right down the road in walking distance is the Barn. Deli, farm animals and fresh produce, pies and plenty of stuff. There is some freeway noise from highway 101. Bathrooms and showers were basic but clean and functional. We will return. We camped at Avila / Pismo Beach KOA in a Motorhome.

Las Vegas RV Resort , Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: November, 2014 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Found this place after our usual place had closed on the way home from a weekend at the race track. Called and asked about availability. Was kind of wondering when I was questioned what year our RV was prior to being told about space? We arrived and place looked nice. Was asked what breed my dog was, she is a Staffie. Paid our fee and was escorted to our site and guided in. The pool was comfortable and the hot tub was great. Site was level and place is very well kept. Looks to have long term residents and people passing through. Nice little dog area, our girl had a play date. Nice place, I would give a 10 if they had a dog policy of all well behaved dogs welcome rather than dog breed policies. Overall a nice place located of the strip. We camped at Las Vegas RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lost Hills RV Park (formerly Lost Hills Campground), Lost Hills, California

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

My second review of this park. If you stay here keep in mind this really is a place to spend the night to get rest not a destination. We stopped here as a break point. Showers are clean and bathrooms are nice. Sites are on dirt but ours was level and everything worked. Expect morning noise as it is just off I-5 and truck stop and gas stations around. But, for a place in the middle of not much, it works. We camped at Lost Hills RV Park (formerly Lost Hills Campground) in a Motorhome.

Saddle Mountain Ranch Campground, Carmel, California

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

We got in on a Friday evening after dark. The road in is narrow and is just above the Carmel River RV park. If you have a large rig and are towing this could be a tight squeeze. We got to our site and found out we had to go nose in. Sites vary from spot to spot. Some you can back in others you can't. Also, hookups are at the end of the site so will need to think about longer water and sewer connections. The area isn't very big and sites generally will involve some maneuvering to get into. They also have tent sites. Probably not a big rig site; we are 30' and seemed to fit fine. Also some sites have more room than others. Ours was tight and no room for our awning. That said, it is a beautiful location. We did a 4 mile hike up the mountain and enjoyed the views. If you go I would be very specific when reserving your spot on what you want. We will go back now that we have seen the layout and know where we would like to stay. Very quiet campground; almost zero road noise during the day and at night also very peaceful. Nice place just recommend being specific and ask for what you want. Pool was cold and only being maintained at this time of the year. We camped at Saddle Mountain Ranch Campground in a Motorhome.

Marina Dunes RV Park, Marina, California

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Our first time here, and we enjoyed our stay. Facilities are clean and sites are nice. Gravel site was wide and level. Our site had good satellite but some are blocked by trees so if you have a roof mounted dish and you want reception ask for a clear site. We had a nice firebox on site and sites have privacy with plenty of room between sites. The beach is a 15 minute walk. Keep in mind that it is a sandy trail through dunes if you have issues walking on uneven surfaces. Nice beach to let our dog run off leash. There is a Walmart that is a 15-20 minute walk away and a skip & jump by car. If you are sensitive to highway noise it is right next to coastal Highway 1, so you will get freeway noise in the AM but evenings to us were quiet. It is close for us and we will be back. We camped at Marina Dunes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Yanks RV Resort, Greenfield, California

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We have been here several times, as we like the facilities. Pool, spa, and grounds are spotless. Staff is very nice and keep the place up nicely. That said, the one thing that hurts this place is the wind. Mornings were nice and warm perfect for enjoying the pool. Around 1-ish the mighty wind would start up. Part of RVing is being able to sit outside set up and enjoy the evening. I'd be willing to try it later in the year to see if less windy. Still a very nice place for a stopover or weekend getaway, just the wind. We camped at Yanks RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Barstow / Calico KOA, Yermo, California

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped here for a night on our way back from Las Vegas to avoid a windy drive. First, I would always make a reservation. When I called I was told if I show up without a reservation after hours I would pay more. That said, we arrived and the office also had well stocked store that also carries beer and wine. Within a 5 minute drive is gas, fast food, and a diner. A motel/hotel is also nearby. The sites are a gravel/rock type surface which was nice. We didn't have to level. We had a full hook up site and everything worked including cable TV. Trees blocked my dish but didn't matter. Nice place witha little bit of freeway noise but very faint. Nice stopping point. Fenced in clean dog park. We camped at Barstow / Calico KOA in a Motorhome.

Lost Hills RV Park (formerly Lost Hills Campground), Lost Hills, California

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here as a quick one night stay before heading to our final destination. Place isn't really a destination spot. More of a stopover RV park or maybe a spot for a local. Park was pretty empty. Looked like a few people stayed there. We had full hook ups and everything worked fine. Spaces are basically dirt, but ours was pretty level. Pool was covered and has a grass dog park fenced in with tunnels that was actually nice. The staff was friendly and the store stockings were pretty sparse. Propane is on site, too. Bathroom and showers were basic but functional and clean. It is right off highway 5 around a bunch of gas stations and fast food places so not a bad stopping point after a long drive. I'd stay there again if need be. We camped at Lost Hills RV Park (formerly Lost Hills Campground) in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 3 nights over the President's Day weekend. This is a very new RV park and is scheduled for expansion to include a hotel, air museum and other things. Sites have dish network and very tidy appearance. It can get windy here so put things up at night. Staff is very friendly: one gentleman drove our friend, staying in their RV next to us, to a CVS to get knee braces. Dog park is very nice and clean. I think once word gets out, this will be a popular place to visit. It isn't far for us, so we will be back. We camped at Yanks RV Resort in a Motorhome.
