Wonderland RV Park, Torrey, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely park, very clean and well kept. It is right on the road, but the noise did not bother us. Lots of grass, which they work to keep in good shape. The downside for us is that Torrey is not Verizon friendly and the wifi was quite weak, so connectivity was not consistent or good for us. Large dog area and easy in and out. We were surprised at how busy they were and could not get reservations for as long as we wished, so recommend reservations in advance, particularly in September and October, their busiest months. We camped at Wonderland RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

So much to see and do in this area. Capitol Reef Park, Fish Lake, and the Burr Trail, so picturesque, each in a different way. We will be returning to the area.

The Views RV Park & Campground, Dolores, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We spent 5 days at this park in early October. It is one of those RV parks that manages to feel like a campground rather than a typical RV park, which is fine with us. We stayed in one of the longest sites we have ever parked. It was unlevel, but the views were great and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The owners are new and are really working to upgrade and make it very nice. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at The Views RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this park before. This time we planned on a month to attend the Santa Fe Opera. Due to some repair work we had to have done, we ended up staying nearly two months. The sites are fairly long and hookups are excellent. There is no cable, but our satellite had no problem receiving channels. The wifi was adequate, although we used our Verizon. The sunsets here cannot be beat, each night better than the one before. It is close to town and easy in and out. bit rig friendly. Staff was very accomodating, particularly when we had to extend a couple of times. In short, we will be returning in the future. We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Angel Fire RV Resort, Angel Fire, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

This park ranks among the nicest we have stayed at in nearly 7 years of RVing. Large level pull-throughs, new hookups, hot tub, clubhouse, and fire pits. Much attention to detail in design and landscaping.,Staff is frendly and helpful. No cable, but they will will provide a direct tv box. We did not request one. Good satellite reception. ATT works well, but Verizon is spotty throughout the valley. WiFi was okay. We stayed over Labor Day weekend which is why it was so pricey. Definitely a Resort. They pick up your garbage. The resort is only 3 years old. They are open year around. Would definitely stay there again. We camped at Angel Fire RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Sky Mountain Resort RV Park, Chama, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice little park in a beautiful area of New Mexico. Staff very friendly and helpful. We parked in what appeared on the map, to be the easiest pull through (SP 27) and in fact, it was. It was a bit exposed on one side, but people drove slowly and it did not bother us. We were able to request the spot, so could not really complain, but would probably pick another next time. The back ins near the river are quite lovely, but since they are under trees there might be a difficulty with satellite. No cable and we did not use the wifi. You can rent a fire ring for a fire, if you wish. There is an excellent enclosed dog park and a large field where we were able to run our border collie/australian shepard mix. Agree with a prior review that states the park comes up quickly when entering from the northeast. It is easy to miss it. We were there for 8 days. We would stay here again. We camped at Sky Mountain Resort RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Chama is a cute little town. There is a narrow gauge train there. East is the town of Antonito, Co which has an interesting "palace" made out of found objects. South is the Ghost Ranch ( Georgia OKeefe), the town of Abiqui and the Echo Amphitheater. We enjoyed seeing all the sights.

Bayfield Riverside RV Park, Bayfield, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This a nice park with friendly staff. It can accomodate big rigs, although the spaces were a bit tight. Even though the park was very attractive and there were beautiful flowers planted at the entrance, the spaces were close together and kind of "meh" . The biggest downside was the water pressure. At times it was more like a drip. All in all, we would stay here again in spite of the water pressure. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Goulding's Lodge & Campground, Monument Valley, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Great park, with great views. Efficiently run by staff. big rig friendly. did not use wifi or cable. In short this is a great park. We love the combination of rv'ers and campers. Lots of children and foreign travelers. Only complaint would be that they do not enforce the speed rules. There are so many walkers and children people need to drive very slow. What are we in such a hurry for? We camped at Goulding's Lodge & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

It's Monument Valley which is stunning. Recommend if you do not have a hearty vehicle, you do go on a tour. The road through the park is very bad and would be difficult for a smaller car to navigate. We have a large truck.

McArthur's Temple View RV Resort, St George, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night. It is a an older park. Tight turns to get into the park and to maneuver. Basically a subdivided gravel parking lot with full hookups. A cable box was offered to us, but we declined. The reason for the poor review is that the water and sewer lines are too close to the surface. When we hooked up to leave, our site and the sites on either side had overflowing sewers. Stinky and unsanitary. Since it was a Sunday, there was no one to report it to. We did find a resident and asked him to pass it along. He indicated that it has happened before. We would look for other options if in the area again. We camped at McArthur's Temple View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Solstice Motorcoach Resort, Mesquite, Nevada

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We actually did not stay here, but our trailer did. Upon unhooking, we had an electrical fire. It looks like a very nice resort that is being developed. No pool yet, but a nice clubhouse. The reason I am reviewing it is that the staff was so helpful in our time of crisis. It was very hot (110+) and we had to empty our RV refrigerator, freezer. They graciously agreed to store our perishables in their clubhouse refrigerator/freezer for the week we were getting repairs. They also recommended a good repair company that expedited our repairs. We were on the road in a week. If in the area again, we would stay there again. We camped at Solstice Motorcoach Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Reno KOA at Boomtown, Verdi, Nevada

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

We experienced difficulty with our truck over 4th of July Weekend and were very pleased to find this campground could accommodate us. It is a KOA so it is expensive and could use some fixing up. Garbage was overflowing. Had full hookups, but site was basic and unattractive. Lots of permanent residents. Staff was friendly. There is a small pool, shuttle to the casino and a small playground. Given a choice, which we did not have at the time, we would probably stay elsewhere in the future. We camped at Reno KOA at Boomtown in a Fifth Wheel.

Sonoma County Fair Grounds, Santa Rosa, California

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We have family in the area and spent 6 days over Memorial Day weekend. It is a basic park, but can accommodate large rigs easily. It is centrally located to the wine country activities and there is not much in the way of parks to choose from. Staff was very accommodating. No cable or wifi, but Verizon worked well and it is an easy satellite hookup. Note a large dip at the entrance and they will require insurance information if it is your first time at the park. Park is closed to public during the fair in July. All in all a decent place to stay and we will stay again. We camped at Sonoma County Fair Grounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Gold Ranch Casino & RV Resort (formerly Terrible's Gold Ranch Casino), Verdi, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this park a couple of times before and it remains one of our favorites. Long spaces with grassy areas in between. FHU cable and wifi. In the past, the wifi was not free, causing us to downgrade the rating. Now the wifi is free, but we could not get it to work. We were at the back of the park, so it could be a proximity issue, but still the wifi needs work. Verizon signal was strong. Easy on and off freeway, although there is a bit of congestion and a short distance to travel. Suggest googling the road to be familiar with it before entering. Neither the train or road noise was significant enough to bother us. We did not use the pool or spa, but it snowed while we were there. We will definitely stay again. We camped at Gold Ranch Casino & RV Resort (formerly Terrible's Gold Ranch Casino) in a Fifth Wheel.

Desert Rose RV Park, Fernley, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is the second time we have stayed at this park and we really noticed the difference. The last time we stayed in a 28 ft travel trailer, but it was definitely tighter in our 40ft 5th Wheel. Staff is friendly. Sites were narrow and short making it a challenge for a larger RV. We did see, however, many larger RV's there as there is not much choice in the area. My husband walked the site before we took it. Concrete pad and lawn at our site, FHU , wifi worked, but we did not use it. Cable, although they were having trouble with cable in some areas of the park. Because we arrived early they gave us a cable ready site. Lots of permanent people who appeared to be working, mostly. There is an Amazon warehouse in Fernley. It is adequate for a one night stay, or if you have relatives in the area, which we do, but one night is enough. There is a lot of congestion getting off I 80 in Fernley and there is a daunting traffic circle, so suggest googling it before you go there. We camped at Desert Rose RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
