What a friendly place! We were set in between two park models. Residents on both sides came out to welcome us as we parked. More than half the sites are park models, but all are well tended and landscaped. Lots of "park spirit" - many activities - they had a dance with live music while we were here. The pool is very nice. The showers are dated but clean.

Very scenic campground with mountains all around, a few sites near Kenai Lake, and a few other sites near Trail River. A number of good hiking trails are nearby. It’s a forest service campground with no hookups. There are pit toilets, they are kept very clean.

It’s a parking lot, but what a view! Right on Resurrection Bay, with mountains across the bay and behind the CG. The town keeps it very well maintained; grass stays cut; bathrooms are clean. It’s a short easy walk to downtown or to the harbor. We will definitely come back here anytime we go to Seward. Only negative: it’s a bit of a rat race when campers jockey for the waterfront spots. If you get one of the prime spots, people will ask when you’re leaving, and the moment you get ready to pull out, the “vultures” will be circling!

Right at the junction of Parks & Glenn highways, this is a pleasant and very tidy CG. Laundry & showers are spotless. The staff was very helpful with tour info on the area. Lots of tall birch trees make for a scenic spot, but the sites are still plenty wide for slideouts. Mountains are visible on 2 sides. The only negative: there is steady road noise due to proximity to highways.

This is really just a parking lot, but with full hookups (even cable & Wi-Fi). Actually, there is a tiny strip of grass between sites with a picnic table at each. And the view really is grand. There is a short nature trail out back that leads to a pretty overlook. Sparkling clean laundry/showers – but you have to pay extra for the showers. The cafe is pretty good eats, just sandwiches, pizza, and breakfast, but everything is well prepared. It’s a good place to stopover if you don’t want to do the Anchorage to Glennallen drive in one hop.

It’s a parking lot in front of the general store with electric hookups for RV’s to tie into. They do provide free internet (worked just fine for us) and they have clean bathrooms and laundry (but you have to pay to use showers). There is a tiny cafe that serves hearty food at reasonable prices, and everyone was real friendly. We stayed here because it’s on the road up to Kennicot/McCarthy in Wrangell/St Elias NP – from here you can make it a day trip.

On the west edge of town, this CG has nice, roomy pull through lots. But the facilities seem a bit run-down and laundry and bathroom/showers were not very clean. Staff was very friendly. Might have given this a higher rating but three rental RV’s ran their generators all night making quite a racket (apparently this is allowed). It was like camping next to an electric plant! All in all, I’d say this made for just an OK first overnight stop after crossing the border into Alaska.

No facilities here but pit toilets, but oh, the beautiful view! Not all the sites face the lake, so get here early for one of them. Free firewood is provided with site. The sites are nicely graveled. Do bring mosquito repellant. The morning we left, a grizzly ambled through the playground. It munched some greens - bothered no one – and left after being much-photographed.

The CG is right on Main St, so there is traffic noise during the day, but not so much at night. Very well-tended place, grass spots (thick grass, not dirt). The laundry and showers are immaculate. Staff was very friendly. We loved the little town of Haines – you can easily walk to downtown from the CG. And you see mountains all around from the CG. I would stay here again, but I might try the Oceanside CG next time – we did a walk through – not as nice facilities-wise, but you park right next to the harbor & can watch the cruise-ships, fishing boats, and ferries come and go (so the choice is comfort – Hitch-up; or view - Oceanside)

Sites are a bit tight, but spacious by Alcan standards. All gravel, plenty of trees between sites to give you privacy This campground is convenient to town and to the highway. Nice showers and laundry facility. They have a RV wash station. Good fast wireless internet connection.

There are no facilities except pit toilets. You can fill your water tank. But I have to give this CG a 10 for the beautiful setting right on the shores of a mountain-ringed lake. This is the kind of campsite you see in Motorhome and Highways magazines. Not all, but some of the sites would accommodate a large motor home.

I’d rate Swan Lake very high for beauty surroundings. No hookups or showers, but it’s a park by a beautiful lake (with lots of fish), so come here for that and not for free internet/cable! The roads and sites are well graveled. Much rather stay here than in the parking-lot campgrounds in nearby Dawson Creek!

It’s a parking lot. But, as parking lots go, not so bad. The owner is a hoot: great sense of humor. Among the nicest, cleanest bathrooms I’ve seen at a CG. Music is piped into them: very classy! It’s a short, easy walk to the sign forest.

Better than average sites for the Alcan (though still a bit tight). Staff was very friendly: walked us to our spot. We liked the restaurant-bar; nothing gourmet, but good ambience. The bathrooms are clean: you do have to pay a $1 for a shower, but that seems to be common on the north highways.

This campground is well located; lots of shopping, stores, restaurants nearby. A very nice office/store/laundry. The shower/bathrooms are nice, but you have to pay a $1 to shower, something of a turnoff for me. The sites well spaced. No fire ring in our site. Roads are dirt, so lots of dust in the air. Would be unpleasant in rainy weather. Staff is very friendly, except for the guy that drives around in his pickup and tells you your toad is parked wrong, and your RV is back too far!
