We stayed here with 2 other family's. One of the family's was on the Old Side Side "A" and the sites were unlevel although sizable, and it was hard to level my friends Travel Trailer on his site, although if you are tent camper it had a real nice tent pad and plenty of shade. The rest room were adequate on the "A" loop but were somewhat dated. The New Section or "B" Loop is awesome. The Sites are paved and either Pull Thru or Big enough and accessible enough to park the largest trailers on. They also have a large gravel area with a Picnic table and a Fire Ring. The Rest Rooms on the "B" Loop are Outstanding, some of the cleanest facilities I have seen and they also have a laundry facility. The Olympic Size swimming pool and Camp store is about a Quarter of a mile away from the Camping area and for the most part very well maintained. As Campers you get free access to the swimming pool but not unless the Camp Hosts give you tickets; so make sure you ask for the Pool tickets so you can access the pool for free. There is plenty to do between the Welcome Center with Wonderful views. The Working farm with Gift shop with old artifacts and a very nice Buttery Fly garden also was also a joy to visit and alot of trails and other events going on that I did not have the time to do. I would recommend this as a place to bring the family and have a enjoyable weekend sightseeing. We will go back soon!!

One of my Favorite campgrounds and I am not even a member yet. Thats will change in the process of purchasing a membership to 1000 trails. This is a very kid friendly resort. Great water access...They do not nickel dime you to death every for extra kids, pets, paddle boats, Canoes, Putt Putt Golf. Of course if you have a thousand trails membership there is no cost besides your yearly maintenance fee and of course what ever you paid for the membership. This is by far not the most fancy campground away but what the do is provide a safe fun place to go camping with family and friends old and new.. If you get a chance check it out!!

Checked in at 8:00 PM, Office closed at 7:00 PM but there was a Map with my name on it directing me to my site. Site was level and easy to access. Had full hook-ups and the wireless Internet is what I am using to post this and was very strong. Campground very peaceful and the views are great. Woke up this morning to the sound of birds chirping. Went and checked in this morning with the camp host Shulamit. She is wonderful lady with alot of information about the area. The Price seemed somewhat steep since I have 4 kids and they charged me $3.00 extra each kid for each night we are staying. You would think that if it was a true family campground they would at least let you have 2 kids and 2 adults with the base price. This is a wonderful campground but I am not sure if I would stay here again just because of all the extra costs to stay.

We live only 7 miles from this campground and have been here before but not sure if I will go back again. They have 2 swimming pools and when we made reservations no one told us one was broken and had no water in it. When we got there, all of a sudden the other one broke so its 98 degrees out and no place for the kids to cool off. The site we had was fairly level with some shade, grass, and was of good size. The Security came around often, was very pleasant and helpful. When I checked into my site a few hours after check-in time the site was dirty with trash from the previous resident, and I had to clean the site up prior to setting up. We had then ask them to come and pick up the trash, which they did in a timely manner. The Rest rooms were nasty with the floors dirty and a few of the toilets overflowing. They have a total of 4 different bath houses and I recommend that during the day they have the staff check them on a regular basis and spot clean if they need to be cleaned, instead of holding off until the next morning to clean them. I did not even check out the showers after seeing the bathroom, instead I drove the 7 miles back home to check the mail and took a shower!! The KOA is close to the beach and I am in hopes after the new owners get everything under control that this will be a nice campground once again. But right now it is a work in progress, and unless I see a drastic change in the way they do they're maintenance and cleaning of the facilities I will be going down the road to the Holiday Trav-L Park which is less then a quarter mile away, with a lot more activities.

We stayed here over Father's Day Weekend with 5 other family's and all I can say is WOW!!! I leave within 45 minutes of this campground and never even new it was here. The Owner is a real nice guy and extremely helpful. The sites are roomy compared to the other local campgrounds and we had 2 travel trailers, 2 pop ups, and 2 tents so we saw all of the different type of sites they had. The Pool area was very clean and they're was a life guard on duty. The river front tent sites were awesome and if I was tent camping that would be the most stay sites for me but I like my creature comforts so has to have a site with electricity and water. They also have a boat lunch so you can launch your boat and Jet Skis. The river beach is sandy and you can walk out a long distance and still not over your waist so the kids love it. The Rest Rooms are the cleanest I have seen in a long time. The only reason that I did not give the campground a 10 was the showers could have a bench so you can put your clothes on while you are showering and give you a private area to change, Really would like to have high speed wireless so I can stay connected so I can enjoy the campground and still get my college work done and the Office staff not all put a couple were very rude. Will I go again??!!! Sure you will this is now on our favorites list for places to get away for the weekend at.

Over Memorial day weekend we stayed with 4 other households one Travel Trailer, one 5th Wheel, and another tent camper and we had a great time. The campground was not full to capacity and we were able to get all of our sites together. The Staff was polite and helpful although the office closes real early and the store does not have much available they're is a Super Wal-Mart Very Close by. The restrooms are somewhat outdated and could really use a face lift but for the most part they were fairly clean although you had numerous insects joining you when you used the facilities. One big disappointment was the pool was suppose to open that weekend and with it being in the high 80's we could have really used the pool. The staff said the person in charge of preparing the pool put the wrong chemicals in the pool so it would have to be drained and would not be open for the whole weekend. We ended up buying a $20.00 blow up pool and put it on our campsite filled it up and let the kids keep cool that way. The staff was understandable about our frustration and said we could either check out early and go somewhere else with a refund of our fees or they would give us a free nights stay. We had a lot of friends with us and decided to stay and had good time and will return since this not only a good place to stay if you are going to Busch Gardens but also as a home base while shopping the outlet stores.

Stayed with 2 other families and had a great time. We only live about 10 miles away but use this campground as our yearly shake-down first trip of the season campground. With it being early in the season not all the amenities were open but the park staff was friendly and and was working hard to spruce the place up after the winter season. Yes you do get low level fly bys here but not late at night and it was enjoyable seeing the planes and knowing they are practicing to protect our freedoms to go camp. Would recommend staying at this campground if you want a place that is close to everything the beach has to offer.

We stayed with 3 other households one Travel Trailer, one 5th Wheel, and a tent and we had a great time. The campground was not full to capacity and we were able to get all of our sites together. The Staff was polite and helpful although the office closes real early and the store does not have much available in it but on the behalf of the campground it was out of season and they're is a Super walmart within walking distance. The restrooms are somewhat outdated and could really use a facelift but for the most part they were clean. We had a good time and will return since this not only a good place to stay if you are going to Busch Gardens but also as a home base while shopping the outlet stores.

We stayed here with 2 other familys on 2 adjoining sites. Hurricane Ernest or what was left of it cleared the area about 2 hours before we got to the campground. We live only 7 miles away but this was the planned gathering place for friends on Labor Day weekend. The sites were level and large. The bathrooms were old and dated and not all that clean. I only used them when the portapottie would not surfice. I did not even look at the showers after seeing the bathrooms instead I drove home and checked the mail and took a shower there. They have wireless internet but it has questionable reliability. The staff was helpful and polite. I would probably stay here again since I have a shower close by and my own toilet facilities but I recommend the staff take note and do some work on the restrooms.

I would love to rate this campground better then 6 overall but this campground is a work in progress. We stayed with 3 other families one other pop up camper a 30' fifth wheel and 30' travel trailer. we had site A which was in the upper park. To get to the rest rooms required planning on using them or driving to get there. I was fortunate enough to have a porta pottie or we would have had serious problems. The facilities were not clean in the upper campground where we were staying and to boot there was a lot of mold. The pool and most of the amenities are located at the lower campground which is quite a hike so you must drive, ride a bike if you have one or rent one of they're golf carts. In the parks defense I had a long discussion with one of the seasonal Workcampers and they are planning on doing a lot of updates to include new rest rooms in the upper campground and possible a swimming pool also. I think I will wait a couple of years and give this campground another try since there is plenty of fun family events in the area to keep you busy!!

Been here numerous times. The campground is older and could really use a fresh coat of paint. The power was substandard on numerous sites but I must admit the staff was very helpful in ensuring we had clean power and worked on it until it was fixed. The playground equipment is old and outdated. The restrooms could use a fresh coat of paint also although the staff kept them clean. This is not a destination campground but if you are going to Busch Gardens or the Outlet Malls this is a good campground to spend the nights at.

We stayed in a tent trailer and had friends go with us in a fifth wheel. The facilities were clean. Usually every other time I went into the rest rooms there was some one cleaning them. They would step out long enough for you to use them, and then they were right back at it. The pool was clean and the kids really enjoyed it. A few sites were a little small but the staff was cordial and always willing to assist. The website says they have a camp sink to do dishes, but that has not been installed yet so doing dishes was somewhat difficult. I made the mistake of sending my kids to do dishes thinking there was a outside camp sink. The staff was nice enough to invite them into the back of the camp store to do dishes, but when 3 girls and 2 boys together were loud while doing the dishes, instead of notifying the parents there was a problem, the staff was somewhat rude to the youngsters. I expect the kids deserved it, but they should have talked to the parents instead of being rude and using inappropriate language with the kids. That said. Very nice campground and would recommend it. One last comment: bring wood with you wood is $4.00 a bundle which consists of 6 pieces of wood.

We camped here with 4 other families. Although there is no pool there is plenty of hiking trails, Putt Putt Golf, River and Pond access for canoeing and fishing and paddle boats...So there is plenty of things to do for the youngsters. With that said the security of the facility is somewhat in question since when we left to go out sightseeing on both Saturday and Sunday Morning we saw inmates from the womens correctional center up the road out picking up trash and mowing and doing landscape. Not really the caliber of people I want hanging around with my kids. The sites are large and shaded and even though out in the sun the temperature was in the 90's it felt comfortable around our campsite. Do not forget the bug spray if you come here though and make sure you check your family and pets for tics after visiting this facility. Would return if I want in a group since with the 28 people we went with there are safety in numbers and the kids entertained themselves with they're friends. One thing to note this is a city owned and run campground and no alcohol is allowed in this facility.

This used to be one of our favorite campgrounds. New owners have taken over and it seems like they are catering more to the over 55 crowd. When we went here in 2005 there were events going on most of the day for the younger campers and that is one of the things that has kept us coming back. I have heard since we were here over Memorial Day weekend that they have started to incorporate activities for the youngsters. We stayed with 4 other families and must admit that the staff was friendly and helpful at all times. My camping unit had a power issue and the staff worked with me and helped isolate the problem and then even helped with fixing it. The staff is doing a lot with this facility and with some more activities for the youngsters my rating of 9 would have gone to a 10. We will be back since the owners make you feel welcome and also ensure you are happy while you are here.

We went with 5 other housholds which were all in a Popups, except one in a 30' Travel Trailer. The check in process was simple and we were allowed to check in a hour early on Friday afternoon. We had site 42 and you either had to have a very long power and water hose or do some tricky maneuvering to get the Popup close enough to connect up. Once connected up, life was good until the storm came across the Chesapeake Bay at about 1:00 am with 40 - 50 mph winds and rain. The group I was with were all fire fighters and medics and we were busy putting out campfires which were blowing and sparking pine needles. I was one of the unlucky ones and lost my screen house to the storm. With that said and done, the camping experience was good with the exception that the rest rooms are not all that clean and not very close to the waterfront sites we were at. They will not allow you to ride bike after dark even if you have a light, so I am sure my neighbors were upset with the 3 trips a night I made with the SUV to the rest rooms since the walk was to distant if you have any walking difficulties. Would I go back again? Sure would, but will either have a portapottie in the PopUp, or get a site closer to the restroooms.
