Tucumcari KOA boasts a wonderful and friendly staff, exceptionally clean bathrooms, and delicious homecooked meals cooked on site for breakfast and dinner. We ended up staying in Tucumcari a few days longer than we had anticipated because of the clutch going out on our car 55 miles east of Tucumcari. Not only did the owner and his staff go above and beyond to contact local mechanics and tow drivers on our behalf, but they went out of their way to make our prolonged visit as comfortable as possible. His staff is so congenial that they turned what would have otherwise been a nightmare experience of a broken down car in the middle of nowhere into an absolutely delightful stay. We stayed all of our nights but the last one in one of the KOA cabins. The last night we stayed in an on site trailer that was clean and boasted amenities such as a radio, mini kitchen, etc. Highly recommend staying in one of the three basic KOA cabins on site. They offer beautiful views and face Tucumcari Mountain. It is so nice to sit on the swing and enjoy the view. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that they assigned us to the very same cabin we had stayed in last year! Very nice, homey touch. We enjoyed our Tucumcari KOA experience so much that we plan on making a special visit every year just to relax and see our friends at the Tucumcari KOA. It is a safe, clean, and friendly place to stay. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! We camped at Tucumcari KOA in a Campground Cabin.
