Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here 2 weeks during Balloon Festival. Been doing this for a while and this is not the worst experience, but close to it. Some parks have good WiFi, this one is absolutely the pits. The WiFi is a "home brew" system where the administrator thinks he knows what he's doing. Not close. Thank God I have a good firewall, because I caught him several times trying to snoop into my computer.

Be ready for hardly no park rules and especially dog rules are not enforced. People leave barking and whining dogs in their RVs all day while they are out and about. This RV park should be called "Santa Fe Skies Kennel." Streets are dirt/gravel (dusty), sites are gravel with a concrete slab porch. 5 MPH speed limit is not enforced. I was almost run over taking trash to the dumpster by a motorhome going at least 30 MPH.

Santa Fe has no significantly good RV parks so you are stuck with situations like this. Too bad, because we really love visiting this beautiful city. We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Big River RV Park, Big River, California

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed a month for $325.00 not including $0.11/ kwh electricity. Our site was fairly large with an attempt at grass on part of it. Trailer parking pad was almost quicksand, difficult to level (blocks and wheels just sink into the soil). Biggest issue is the WiFi system. You are restricted from any type of download or movie-clip viewing. Have to "sign-in" every morning around 7 am which takes forever. Didn't bother with cable TV because we have good satellite reception. Wildlife is mainly hundreds of blackbirds, some cotton-tail rabbits, bats, and coyotes. Best thing was the 50 amp service afforded. We camped at Big River RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

20 Miles to a new WalMart in Parker, AZ. Problem is they built the facility about one-third the size it needs to be. Cramped isles, limited choices, and too many patrons. Don't shop there on Wednesdays like we did when everyone gets their Social Security check. What a circus.
