Fort De Soto Campground, Tierra Verde, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

One of our favorite campgrounds. The park was very full, and staff was friendly. No firepits. Rented a "wash-tub" for $3 per day. Bundles of wood $9. Park was very quiet after 10PM. Low lying limbs and some "hairy" spots to get your trailer backed into. The playgrounds for the kids were excellent. Campground receipt gets you into Fort Desoto Park to see the fort and fish, etc. ($5.00 value). Lots of dogs on the dog park side of the campground, but all were well behaved and no droppings laying around. Wi-Fi was at the office only, or within 50 feet. Many channels on the antenna from the trailer. Squirrels are trained to beg. Lots to do in St. Pete. We will return. We camped at Fort De Soto Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Anastasia State Park, St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2011 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful park for couples, kids, or family groups. Lots to do in the park and in St. Augustine. The showers were nice and clean and the water didn't get too hot. Very close to St. Augustine. Playgrounds were not so good. Will return. The lots are very private and you can barely see the campsite next door. Not a lot of fuel stations for diesel nearby. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Ft. Myers / Pine Island KOA, Saint James City, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Read the reviews and was a little nervous about staying here. All for not! What a really great time I had with our four kids. The staff was super friendly, the activities were plentiful. The jacuzzi was very hot and the swimming pool outstanding. We play shuffle board, horseshoes, and tennis. The store seemed well stocked. The showers and bathrooms were very clean and the hot water plentiful. Although you are in Florida so be on the look out for fiddler crabs. I would stay here again. We went to Fleamasters flea market (about an hour away). you may check to see if your electric and water will be on your left or right. also the biking trails through the mangroves...its the sidewalk going the length of the island, none to speak of by the campsite. We camped at Ft. Myers / Pine Island KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed for 3 days and two nights. Fantastic time with our 4 kids. Showers clean. Staff very friendly. Reported a picnic table needing repair within 30 minutes a repairman came. Lots to do! Too much for just the short stay. No bugs! Fire-ants: well yes. I'd recommend this campground. We camped at Okeechobee KOA in a Travel Trailer.
