St. Vrain State Park, Longmont, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is the absolute best place to stay between Colorado Springs and Fort Collins on the Front Range of the Rockies. Very spacious pull thru sights, great views of the mountains and many ponds and nature trails. The only two things keeping this from being a five star park are: the roads are only paved in the electric only section. full hookups are gravel roads and dusty. Also a laundry facility in the camper services building would be great to have like in most other Colorado State Parks. But aside from those minor inconveniences, it's a great base camp to go and hike in the mountains, visit Denver or Boulder and many many others. We will stay again We camped at St. Vrain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Ridgway State Park, Ridgway, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is the third year we have stayed two weeks at Pa Co Chu Puk where they have the full hookups. Camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. Nice trails to hike and it's off the beaten path where we can relax and enjoy nature and all the beautiful scenery. It's also a great base camp to go visit Silverton, Telluride, Ouray and many other nice attractions in the San Juan Mountains. We camped at Ridgway State Park in a Travel Trailer.

James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section), Fruita, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful little park with concrete pads, pull thrus, and nice little shelters over the picnic tables. Very close and convenient to Grand Junction, yet peaceful quiet in a nature surrounding. The bike trail/walkway into Fruita is a nice plus. We would definitely stay here again. Colorado State Parks are the best -- buy the annual pass for $70.00 it will pay for itself in 10 days. We camped at James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section) in a Travel Trailer.

Ainsworth State Park, Cascade Locks, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The best part of this park is that it is close to Multnomah Falls and other beautiful attractions along the US 30 Historic Hwy and view of the Columbia River are really great. The drawback is that it is old (built around 1941), and the roads are very narrow and back in spaces tight, pull thru's o.k. Also too many rocks along the spaces makes for very tight turning and hard to navigate backing in. Restrooms clean and staff very friendly. We camped at Ainsworth State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Mountain Home RV Park, Mountain Home, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is the finest commercial RV Park I have stayed in for the 5,000 miles I have been on the road this summer. The hosts are very friendly and helpful with escorts to the sights provided; the showers/laundry room are kept immaculate and plenty of new looking washers and dryers for everyone. Beautifully landscaped with spacious sites and wide streets. We will definitely stay here longer the next time through. We camped at Mountain Home RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a small town without a lot of activity, but there is a Walmart actually within walking distance of the RV Park. Looked like a few decent restaurants passing through town. Mountain Home Air Force Base is about 13 miles away and has a nice commissary and exchange.

Springville/Provo KOA , Springville, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

The staff was friendly at check in and the office was nice -- the initial appearance was very good coming in, but after I entered the park, it changed rapidly. As I see other's have posted, this park is not good at all for big rigs over 30 foot. Sites are way too narrow, and had my neighbor on the right side not left before me, I would have had great difficulty leaving the spot this morning. My neighbor's picnic table was also right next to my sewer hook up. Several long term run down looking trailers toward the back, and some sleazy looking characters playing solitaire in the laundry room early in the morning. Won't do a repeat visit. We camped at Springville/Provo KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Graham's Island State Park, Devils Lake, North Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice State Park, friendly staff, beautiful lake, walking paths, and for those who fish, it is top notch. We would definitely stay here again passing through. Friendly helpful staff. $39.00 seems a little pricey, no discounts offered that I could find. Pretty much out in the boon docks, but very nice and peaceful. Nice camp store (brand new) for all your needs. We camped at Graham's Island State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pokegama Dam Campground COE, Grand Rapids, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice overnight stay, and a great value for the $ $ $. Back in site overlooking the Mississippi River from our back window of the travel trailer. Restroom/showers were immaculate. Use caution negotiating getting in and out on highway 2, however, major construction going on at the park entrance. No water or sewer hookups, but there are plenty of water spigots and a dump station available. We camped at Pokegama Dam Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

Country Village RV Park, Ishpeming, Michigan

Very nice little park in Michigan's UP, well maintained and manicured lawns. We only stayed one night passing through west bound -- the staff was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Good laundry facility. We would definitely stop here again. We camped at Country Village RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a great spot -- check in at the Comfort Inn behind the Exxon Gas Station (Town Pump) just before coming to Interstate 15 (if coming in from the east on highway 2). Immaculate and new looking restrooms and showers, nice sight. . We would definitely stay here again -- good for an overnighter or a base camp to explore nearby East Glacier National Park. Riverside State Park, Nine Mile Falls, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

This was a nice little park for an overnight stay, although a little off the beaten path from I-90. But $58.00 is too steep which includes $5.00 non resident deposit and $8.00 for entrance fee. $39.00 a night would have been more in line for the quality provided. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, the scenery was nice, and the restrooms were adequate. We camped at Riverside State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Salem / Lisbon KOA, Salem, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

An O.K. park for an overnight stay, but nothing to write home about. Roads and campsite were pretty muddy, the shower/restroom facilities were temporary portable type buildings, looked like in need of an upgrade. Looked like more of a trailer park with permanent residents. We camped at Salem / Lisbon KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Expensive but very convenient to Niagara Falls. Friendly, helpful staff were very knowledgeable when visiting the local attractions. Bus stop to the Falls right at the KOA entrance was very nice and convenient. We would highly recommend it for a 3 day visit. A lot of nice amenities including indoor pool and hot tub. Buy the pass for the top 4 attractions at the KOA office which includes unlimited bus riding for two days. Parking at the Falls is very tight, and the bus is much more convenient and takes you everywhere you need to go.

Metamora-Hadley State Recreation Area, Metamora, Michigan

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the sites are extremely tight and hard to get into and navigate. Inadequate parking, too many trees, and unlevel spots. With the help of a neighbor and my wife, I was able to jockey my 31 ft trailer back into our space, but had the space across from me been occupied, it would have been impossible. On departure the next morning, I had to go out the way I came (one way in) because of the trees. The park staff was very helpful in that regard and closed the entrance long enough for me to exit. It was also the Friday before Memorial Day weekend and the park was "packed". Also $39.00 is way too expensive for the amenities offered. We camped at Metamora-Hadley State Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.
