Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA , Fort Collins, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice central location to visit the local attractions of the front range of the Rockies and Rocky Mountain National Park. Not cheap, but worth the money. Nice clean grassy sites. I would stay there again. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Horse Thief Campground & RV Resort, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

I love this park, so beautiful to sit at the campsite and look up at the mountains in the morning and evenings. Nice and close to everything- Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Keystone, Deadwood, and many many other attractions too numerous to mention. The campsites are nice and grassy! The staff is very friendly and courteous. I hope to come back here every year. We camped at Horse Thief Campground & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Hillman Ferry Campground, Grand Rivers, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Great spot right on the lake. Nice breeze even in mid July. The people at check in were very friendly and helpful. Only stayed one night, but next time we'll stay longer. Nice grassy areas and plenty of gravel on the sites to prevent mud when raining. Showers and restrooms very nice. We camped at Hillman Ferry Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Monte Sano State Park, Huntsville, Alabama

Date of Stay: July, 2013 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park with wonderful nature trails, plenty of shade, and space in between campsites. Downside is the restroom and showers. Poor water pressure, and renovation needed. We would stay again! We camped at Monte Sano State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Sandy Oaks RV Park & Mobile Home Community, Beverly Hills, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is an outstanding place to stay, a lot for the price. Concrete pads, plenty of shade trees, clean showers, cable, and many, many other amenities. We only stayed one night, but may stay longer next time through. The $30.00 per night includes military discount. Highly recommended! We camped at Sandy Oaks RV Park & Mobile Home Community in a Travel Trailer.

James E. Johnson Memorial RV Park (Military FamCamp), Camp Blanding National Guard Post, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great park, nicely shaded along a lake front. I was only staying one night and didn't want to unhitch so the concrete pad on space 11 was great. I arrived late. As far as I could tell, and from the info from other campers, there wasn't a shower and restroom facility anywhere nearby available. Aside from that it was top notch. I would stay again. To get there, enter the main gate on Hwy 16, then make the first left, then an immediate first right down to the water front, then turn left and follow the shoreline for about 2 miles. We camped at James E. Johnson Memorial RV Park (Military FamCamp) in a Travel Trailer.

Memphis KOA , Marion, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

People were courteous during check in and check out. Grass growing along the gravel sites. However it is too close to the interstate. No cable service or sewer hookup for the smaller back in sites which made the $33.00 a night a little pricey. It was satisfactory for a one night stay only, breakfast looked a little pricey compared to other KOA's I've stayed at. Next time I'm in the area, I'll probably look for a nice state park instead. We camped at Memphis KOA in a Travel Trailer.

The River Forks Inn (formerly Stage Stop RV Campground), Drake, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great alternative to Estes Park. Much quieter and peaceful, nice shade in every spot next to the river, and centrally located to Estes Park, Loveland, and Fort Collins. The Park Manager does a great job getting to know everyone and is on top of everything. The rate of $36 per night was based on a weekly stay of $250 (7 nights). Normally the nightly rate is $45, the monthly rate is $800. There is no cell phone coverage between Estes Park and Loveland, but a phone is available in the office. Free internet Wi-Fi is very good. Satellite TV is available if you have your box, but there are better things to do in the Rockies than watch TV. I hope to stay here for a longer period again someday. Keep up the great job! We camped at The River Forks Inn (formerly Stage Stop RV Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Riverside Park, Fort Morgan, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

The best part about this park is that it's FREE, but donations are accepted. 20 amp hookups at the light post are the only hookups available, so make sure your water tank is full when you get here. The shady side is on the north so get here early. The swimming pool offers free showers. The park is very nice and well maintained with nature trails, however the traffic is heavy until about 10:00 pm and the RV spots are parallel much like a rest stop for trucks and cars park head in to use the park and playground. There are nice nature trails for walking and a very nice swimming pool. I would stay here again for a night or two. The main drawback is the noise from the park users. We camped at Riverside Park in a Travel Trailer.

Prairie Dog State Park, Norton, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

The rate of $21 includes a $4.00 daily park entrance fee applicable to all parks in the State of Kansas. You can also buy an annual pass for $25.00 which would reduce the rate to $17.50 daily. This is a nice, shady serene little park next to the lake which I decided to extend a few days beyond my planned visit, as I'm just killing time before arriving in Colorado next week. I would definitely put this at the best of the best of all my stays in Kansas! We'll be back! We camped at Prairie Dog State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Branson KOA, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

One of the two best KOA's I've ever stayed . Nice, friendly staff, beautiful setting in the Ozarks, and close and convenient to the Branson theater area. Breakfast was very good and free with an all- you-can-eat pancakes in the convention center. Swimming pool, hot tub, exercise room, playground, and many other nice amenities. It was well worth the nightly rate. I will return. We camped at Branson KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Ellis Lakeside Campground, Ellis, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is the best kept secret in all of Kansas! The shade is wonderful, and the people in Ellis are very friendly. I will definitely plan on stopping here in future trips across Kansas. Hays is just 13 miles away with all the cosmopolitan features. You can't make reservations so come early and pick a nice spot. You can pay at City Hall a few blocks away, or the police will stop by and collect the fee in the evening. Good 30 amp hookups and water. Free dump station nearby. Nice spacious showers and restrooms. We camped at Ellis Lakeside Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Wilson State Park, Wilson, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The lake is beautiful. This is a wonderful place to stay in the autumn or spring, but not in 105 degree temps in the middle of July because of lack of shade. There are nice trees growing and one day that may get better as the trees get taller. The daily rate includes the daily $4.00 admission fee to the park. Sites are nice and level and there are beautiful nature trails to hike which I enjoyed. Verizon cell phone service and MiFi (hotspot) is touch and go here. It's a nice spot to stop and rest a few days from the road, very peaceful and quiet. Showers and restrooms could be improved. We camped at Wilson State Park in a Travel Trailer.
