Two Rivers Campground, Skowhegan, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

A nice peaceful park. The laundry looked fairly new. Nice playground for kids. They seem to be constantly cleaning and mowing, always keeping things nice. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Wifi worked well, cable tv ok. Verizon spotty. Sometimes ok, sometimes not. Large lots. We camped at Two Rivers Campground in a Motorhome.

Bar Harbor Campground, Bar Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

They are ubusual in that they do not take reservations. Upon entering the park they give you a map and let you pick any available site. You can change to another site as it becomes available and every day some selected better sites. There are about 300 sites, some in heavy woods, some with a view to the ocean and some similar to a paved parking lot. Only about 70 sites have full hookups and not all those have 50 amp service. There are about 50 sites that are pull through. About 100 sites have water and electric only. Clean up crews were out often cleaning the restrooms, laundry and firepits and sites. The wifi worked well almost all the time. Verizon worked well. There is a large well equipped playground for the kids. There are walking tails around the campground including one called "dog walk". We camped at Bar Harbor Campground in a Motorhome.

Cedar Haven Campground, Freeport, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park with a small swimming lake with beach, playground for kids, and a patio for everyone to use overlooking the lake. Very relaxing place. Most sites are in the woods and satellite would not work. Wifi worked well. Managers very friendly and helpful. Small store with a few supplies. Verizon worked well. We camped at Cedar Haven Campground in a Motorhome.

Boston Minuteman Campground, Littleton, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice park set in the woods, almost like a state park. Sites are spread around to give some privacy. Wifi worked well, but there were few campers here during our stay. Verizon worked well. The interior roads are tight for a big rig but you are led to your site so there was no problem. The trees are trimmed up so you do not hit them. The office people were very friendly and helpful. They have cable and many OTA channels available. We would stay here again when in the area. We camped at Boston Minuteman Campground in a Motorhome.

AA Royal Motel & Campground, North Tonawanda, New York

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

The park itself looks nice and welcoming. The pull thru sites are large. The back-ins only about 40 feet long. We had to park our car on the grass. As previously mentioned the restrooms and laundry are very outdated. The wifi was satisfactory for email and some surfing. No other amenities. It is pricy for what you get but not many options in this area. We camped at AA Royal Motel & Campground in a Motorhome.

Ohio Turnpike Commission RV Lot - Vermilion Valley, Amherst, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Basically a parking lot with 8 sites. All have a 40 foot maxium length and are back in. We had to disconnect the tow. Payment is from a self service machine, exact cash only. This is a service area so food and other services are available, but gas and diesel stations were closed during our visit. No wifi but Verizon worked well. Lots of truck noise all night. Only two sites used during our stay. Not the type of place we would normally seek out but it worked for one night and was convenient. We camped at Ohio Turnpike Commission RV Lot - Vermilion Valley in a Motorhome.

Shipshewana Trading Place RV Park, Shipshewana, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

A no frills park. Full hookup sites and nothing else. Close to everything in Shipshewana. Most sites are pull through but utilities are located such that your neighbor will probably pull in from the opposite direction. Water and electric at end of site so will require extra hose and cable. Some sites have water and electric on opposite side from sewer. Most sites look reasonably level but some are not. No wifi but Verizon worked well. We camped at Shipshewana Trading Place RV Park in a Motorhome.

Elkhart County Fairgrounds, Goshen, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We were here for a rally. Sites are very narrow when all full. Our door almost opened into our neighbor's slide. For a rally it was OK, but we would not otherwise like being so packed in. Access was OK. GPS could not find the entrance. Trains all day and night. Nice grounds and facilities for a rally. Wifi weak in our location but good near buildings. This place would be OK if there is not an event going on and not full. We camped at Elkhart County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Kankakee South KOA, Chebanse, Illinois

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Nice wooded park with good size sites. It felt much like being in a state park. Wifi mostly worked well except at times when everyone wanted to be on it. Had to work at getting satellite dish in good location. Others had tv antennas up. Watch for low branches in some sites. Our first site had a large branch we did not think we could get under so they gave us another site. No road or train noise. We camped at Kankakee South KOA in a Motorhome.

Illinois State Fair Campgrounds, Springfield, Illinois

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Partially built on a hill. Many sites are not very level and it would be hard to level an RV. Since they have very few campers except during events, it is easy to select a level site on the grassy hill. Another part is an asphalt parking lot which is level where they have 50 amp hookups. Security comes around often and we did not see non-campers in the park. This is not a destination park but OK for visiting the Lincoln sites in the area. The two security guards that I talked to were extremely helpful and friendly. We camped at Illinois State Fair Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Amana Colonies RV Park, Amana, Iowa

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

As others have mentioned it has a parking lot feel to it, but with so many sites and so few campers they do a very nice job of spreading everyone out so that you have the equivalent of four or more sites for your site. During very busy times with all the sites filled it may not seem as nice. The utilities are all in back and water and electric may be on the wrong side. You may need extra water hose and electrical extension cords. Wifi worked very well as did Verizon. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and lead you to your site, help you park and show you all the utilities. Propane is available. This is a good place to use as a base to see the area attractions. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Covered Wagon Campground, Abilene, Kansas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

A good place to stay while visiting the Eisenhower museum. The pull through sites in the upper area are very long. The roads are easy to navigate. The wifi worked well. The train horns seranaded us throughout the night but were not too bad. The upper sites are open and the satellite worked well. The lower sites, where mostly long term campers stayed, are wooded and the satellite probably would not work. We camped at Covered Wagon Campground in a Motorhome.
