Mountain Road RV Park, Tucumcari, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Sites not really long enough to not unhook. They allow you to remain hooked up but the toad sticks out onto the drive in the rear and if others pull forward in their sites it is really tight to impossible to pull out until they leave. Almost no road or train noise. Wifi ok for email. We will stay here again but try to get a site easier to get out in the morning. We camped at Mountain Road RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sky City RV Park, Acoma, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Everyone we met at the rv park and casino were extremly freindly and made us feel welcome. The park is about ten years old and the asphalt roads show a lack of maintenance. There is no landscaping or anything to try to make the place look better. All sites are pull through and utilities are well placed for motorhomes. We only used electrical which worked well. Cable only had one very poor channel. Security patrols seemed continuous and doubled as a shuttle. We never waited more than a minute after calling before one pulled up. This is a good overnight stop and we will stop again when going through. We camped at Sky City RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lamplighter RV Resort (55+ Park), Star Valley, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park has mostly permanent units with some being very old. Some had lots of stuff around. They had six sites without permanent units they rent to overnighters. We were supposed to have cable but it did not work. We were next to the road but they have a tall sound barrier wall so the road noise was not objectionable. Lots of trees in front part of park so satellite did not work. Most of the units were unoccupied during our visit but on summer weekends probably more people around. We were visiting family in the area and would likely stay here again as there are not too many choices close by. Our site was long enough for the mh but not with car connected. We had to disconnect. We camped at Lamplighter RV Resort (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

Willcox / Cochise, AZ KOA (formerly Magic Circle RV Park), Willcox, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park being redeveloped. Roads are wide and easy to navigate. Managers lead you to your site. Nice store with basic supplies. The only negative is that they are located next to the freeway and there is traffic noise 24 hours a day. We camped at Willcox / Cochise, AZ KOA (formerly Magic Circle RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Little Creek Casino and Resort, Shelton, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

A basic no-frills park. A concrete pad for the rv and green grass for the rest of the site. There is no patio so any outside activities are on the grass. The grass seemed to be watered every night and looked good. The sites are spacious. The wifi seemed to work well. Verizon worked well. We saw security often. It is hard to find the lobby for the hotel to check in. There are no signs to guide you anywhere. The actual lobby entrance is not marked at all. We camped at Little Creek Casino and Resort in a Motorhome.

Toutle River RV Resort, Castle Rock, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

About 240 sites that they are trying to fill with park models or "tiny houses". Less than half the sites were filled. They do have lots of facilities such as pickleball and volleyball, but you need to bring all the players you need as they do not organize anything. Big playground for kids. The sites need some maintenance. The utilities are strangely placed. The water is very near the front of the site, the sewer near the center and the electric near the rear. We needed three sewer hoses to reach the sewer and all the electrical cable to reach the electric pedestal. Our picnic table was flaking off paint so we did not use it. The only sites that had green grass were those occupied by permanent or long term guests. This could be a really nice destination park with a little effort. The highway noise is only a low background rumble and was not too noticeable. While the trains do run along the west side of the property only the northbound trains blow their whistle and only after they have passed the park. You do feel the vibration but it was not bad. Easy off and on to I-5. Wifi worked well most of the tine. Verizon worked ok. We used satellite for tv. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Toutle River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Jantzen Beach RV Park, Portland, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

As mentioned by others the property consists of a mobile home section and a rv section. They are mostly seperate, only sharing the amenities. The rv section is nicely landscaped and maintained. Most of the sites are very close together with some landscaping to seperate the sites. The wifi was mostly ok but sometimes very slow. Verizon signal was poor, not good enough for internet use. Many ota tv channels. This is in the city so lots of city noise; road noise, train noise, and especially lots of airplane noise as the take off pattern from Portland airport goes over the park. There is no peace and quiet here. The park is close to downtown Portland and all it has to offer, but the traffic to get there was horrible during our week stay. There are several stores and restaurants on the island so you do not have to go anywhere in the traffic if you do not want to. We prefer quieter and less congested areas so will probably not return to this park or Portland again. We camped at Jantzen Beach RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bandon By The Sea RV Park, Bandon, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

They have a new wifi system that seems as good as what we have at home. No delay even with streaming a short video. Some driveways are deadend if you are not in one of the pull through spaces on that driveway. Follow their directions. There are many fulltime and seasonal sites but they are neat. It is quiet here. They are surrounded on three sides by woods, the highway on the front. Everyone seems very friendly. We camped at Bandon By The Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.

Some sites are really small and close together. Our site was a larger one but it was close to highway 101. So there is some road niose but it was not bothersome. It appears most sites are seasonal or permanent but everyone keeps their site looking nice. We would stay here again. We camped at Camp Blanco RV Park in a Motorhome.

There are a variety of sites here. We had a large site in the trees and were very satisfied. Some small sites would not have been so nice. The office staff were very nice and helpful. Everyone suggests going to the Chart Room. Very touristy fried food. Better was the Crescent Seafood also at the harbor. Hard to find but good fresh seafood. The Port of Pints another good place for good beer and friendly people. This is a good base to visit the Redwoods and other parks.

Sounds of the Sea RV Park, Trinidad, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is probably the nicest rv park in Trinidad. The five premiun ocean front sites are really nice, but the view is very filtered by trees. You can hear the ocean and sea lions when they are here. The pull through sites are very narrow, we could not put our awning out when we had neighbors. Most of the sites are permanent or seasonal renters. The park was quiet and well kept up. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ancient Redwoods RV Park, Redcrest, California

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here several times. We think it is the best park in the area. The spaces are not large but ok for a night or two. You need to ask for a site with satellite availability to receive a signal. A row of large trees blocks the view to the south. Verizon does not work here. For the most part the park is clean and neat. This time the two garbage containers were overflowing but that can happen occasionally. We will stay here again. Overall Rating:

This is an old park with mostly permanent park models and old rvs. The pull through site only works if you do not want to connect to water and sewer and can get by with 30 amp service. There are only two rest room/showers but each is a full bathroom. The facilities are about 40 years old and need upgrading. We will look elsewhere. If we need to stay in the area again.
