St. Mary / East Glacier KOA, St Mary, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

Spent four nights here in July. Location is great, beautiful views of mountains, close to Glacier NP. Not many trees in RV section, but lots in the tent camping area. Sites are barely level, but ok. Internet was worthless at the RV, had to go to office to get a signal. No TV whatsoever. It was great that the Red Bus tour stopped right in the park to pick us up. And, ice cream was excellent. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Billings KOA, Billings, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

Spent one night going each way on trip to Glacier NP. Very expensive, tight roads, and worthless internet. The site itself was very nice but tight. Cable TV worked well and staff was friendly. Ate one time at their 'BBQ' place, don't make that mistake. Poor food and worse service. We camped at Billings KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Belvidere East / Exit 170 KOA, Midland, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We spent two nights here on a trip to Glacier NP, one going out, one returning. The best thing about this park is that everything worked. Staff was friendly and directed us to our slots. Internet actually worked AT THE RV! Cable TV was ok, not many channels but it worked. The dog park was clean and even had a few agility items. Did not eat here, but it looked promising. We camped at Belvidere East / Exit 170 KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Oakwood RV Park, Clear Lake, Iowa

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed three nights here in early October, using the pull-through full hookup sites. The pull-through site was really long, lots of room for the trailer and truck. Width was OK, too. Some shade trees were available and campground hosts were friendly and led us to the site and insisted we park where the steps of the RV folded out onto the concrete pad. There was lots of grass in the site for our dogs and there was room to walk them. The Wi-Fi was really poor, and we were only 50 feet from the router. The website advertises cable TV, but that is not available to short term guests. But local TV reception was very good. We camped at Oakwood RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rustic Barn RV Park, Kieler, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean park with great views of countryside. Pull-through sites were easy to navigate, but pretty close together. Internet was not good, really only usable after 9 PM or on weekdays, when not many campers in the park. Very close to Dubuque and convenient for Galena visits. Not having sewer is not a big problem here as owners have portable tank for only $8. TV access over the air got only CBS/NBC/PBS. But others had dishes out and seemed OK. Great bathrooms/showers. We camped at Rustic Barn RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sunrise Campground, Storm Lake, Iowa

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for two weekend nights and the park was virtually full. We stayed in a pull-thru site and it was great, even a good view of the lake. The hosts were nice and Storm Lake police made regular checks. The older part of the campground was really crowded with mostly back in spaces. We would not have liked it as much. But the newer part, with great TV and good WiFi, merit a return visit. We camped at Sunrise Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Cenla RV Park and Campground, Spirit Lake, Iowa

Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Wife and I spent 5 days here in October 2013, first trip to Okoboji. This is an established campground with excellent amenities. The pull thru slots in the front are long and mostly level, with good shade trees. The Wi-Fi and cable TV were excellent, best we have found in Iowa. There are very good walking trails for us and dogs, and while the lake front area is small, it did allow access to a dock and a little shoreline, and the lake was clean with great views. The lady who checked us in was nice. Overall, no complaints and will definitely come back again. We camped at Cenla RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Honey Creek Resort State Park at Rathbun Lake, Moravia, Iowa

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here, as we have for the two previous years. The experience was 'consistent'. Virtually no other RVers, great site near the lake, lots to do here for us and our dogs. The golf course is a great experience, and no rain this year helped. My wife got to 'track' her dogs and really enjoyed it a lot, except for the ticks. Still no cable TV and internet was almost non-existent. Still a very good time. We camped at Honey Creek Resort State Park at Rathbun Lake in a Fifth Wheel.

Swan Lake State Park, Carroll, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2012 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for a month in July, 2012. Site host was great. Long-term spaces are pull through, but most are very tight for a 36' 5er (getting out was a You-Tube moment), internet was just fair, TV reception was OK, but not great, really nice neighbors mostly, pet friendly. The best camping site are mostly tent sites or not full service sites, but lake is great with beautiful evening walks. We camped at Swan Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hickory Oaks Campground, Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Nice RV park, friendly folks running it, sites are pretty close together, internet was not working (and a really cheap setup anyway), TV reception was great, would be nice to have sewer at each site, location was close to where we wanted, it was next to a landfill and prison (but the landfill was grassy and not a problem, the prison was just there). Lot's of nice restaurants in the area. Interstate construction made getting there a roundabout route, but we found it. Overall, we would stay there again. Biggest gripe was lousy internet. We camped at Hickory Oaks Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

River Road RV Campground, Hayward, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great location, open field with few other RV's, easy to maneuver, TV reception was poor, internet was non-existent, but folks running the place were nice. Overall, accurately advertised, clean, just wish TV and internet were better. Definitely not too crowded. We camped at River Road RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Honey Creek Resort State Park at Rathbun Lake, Moravia, Iowa

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for long weekend in mid-April, pull through sites all offer great lake view, spotty internet, great golf course, excellent restaurant at the lodge, the cabins looked excellent. If you have dogs, this is the place for you. All kinds of room to track, roam, and enjoy the outdoors. We camped at Honey Creek Resort State Park at Rathbun Lake in a Fifth Wheel.
