Dogwood Ridge Camper Park, Natchitoches, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Way OVERPRICED. We camped in a 30 ft fifth wheel. No one at the office the entire stay and would not be. Told to put the check in the mail slot in the door. Horrible entry road up a steep hill. Wifi, electric worked but 30 amp breaker kicked off with hair dryer. Grass sites, close together most with no table or fire ring. Bathrooms okay but not very clean. Pets were allowed but not outside unless on leash with owner, not tied out when you were inside trailer. There has to be a better place to stay in the area. Will not be back, worth about $10-20. Do not try this in a bigrig or large motorhome you may not be able to negotiate the dirt road and no adequate way to turn around within the location. We camped at Dogwood Ridge Camper Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Abbeville RV Park, Abbeville, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice location if wanting to be in the Abbeville area. Shucks restaurant just down the road but you are in a rural treed environment down a side road from business 14 and feels isolated from town as you would want. Grass and gravel sites, fairly level most of them but may require a bit of levelling. Some were quite close together but not like in the sardine packed commercial RV parks. We had TV and Wifi (slow at times). Would return if in the area. Good for overnight or longer term stays, hosts friendly and helpful. No bathrooms or showers available. We camped at Abbeville RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sandollar Resort Motel and RV Park, Rockport, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2012 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice, friendly park with beautiful shade trees. The sights vary a lot in accessibility and size but the staff was accommodating and even let us combine two small sites to allow us to stay. It is popular year round with a convenient location in town and across the Fulton Beach Road from the Bay and their private fishing pier. No Verizon cell signal unless you walk up to the road at the park entrance and Wi-Fi is extra with an outside provider at $8.99 a week 3.99 a day but very fast. The laundry was average, the bathrooms were clean but in need of some fresh paint with small stalls and showers. The live oaks provide a shady wooded sight that appeals to me but there were some tight turns and overhanging branches to deal with. Overall I felt it was an excellent location and one of the best if not the best in the area. We camped at Sandollar Resort Motel and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Yellowstone River RV Park and Campground, Billings, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty location in Billings but pricey for narrow sites and lack of attention to details. Hookups were not in the best location or state of repair. Overpriced for the location and amenities. Level sites with wide gravel islands but two rigs per gravel island made for a tight fit with small strips of grass between. We camped at Yellowstone River RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Sunrise Campground, Bozeman, Montana

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Very helpful and friendly family owners, very clean and well maintained park. Few amenities and narrow sites but good hookups in good repair. Close to highway and RR track with frequent trains, but I slept well in well insulated trailer. Easy access and right off Main Street Bozeman for access to shopping and dining. Have stayed here several times and will again. Highly recommended for Bozeman as it's close to town. We camped at Sunrise Campground in a Motorhome.
