We will camp here again. Start with 10, then -1 poor in campground signage, -1 poor campground roads, -1 poorly marked sites, -1 poorly marked/oddly spaced hookups, -1 web site says wi-fi, but only available at camp store, -1 bathhouse 1/4 mile from trailer camp, -1 too few showers/toilets,-1 wi-fi signal not dependable-tested .3 down, .1 up (megs) when working. +1 no night lighting in trailer camp. This is a unique campground. Beautiful night sky set on a wooded ridge and renting bikes @ $15 to ride trail. Very laid back guy around the store (managing or running is too strong). They prefer cash. Plenty of hot water for returning Creeper Trail riders. 6 of us rode trail while the 7th took our truck into town to return riders and bikes. Campground has bikes on demand for $15. Roads to camp are good. Roads in camp are poor and steep and narrow and begging for grading and stone. Sewer connections very difficult to find as grass grows over them. I found 3 sites with WES, there may be more. About 10 are WE. Hook up services good. Dump site is on the ridge, too. Sites are not assigned-pick your own. There is no check in procedure and no rules sheet. First priority is growing Christmas Trees. 2nd is tent camping near the store for lots of Boy Scouts and youth groups riding the trail. Third priority is trailer camping which is 1/4 mile away from camp store and tents. We did not see big rigs. Road layout allows always driving forward so if a big rig can handle the roads and hills, the campground can handle the rig.

We will camp here again. Start with 10, then -1 bathroom ventilation (moist), -1 had to level 1", -1 road ruts, +1 clean and well drained dump. Water tight, electric solid. Our site was water/electric, no sewer, shaded with pleasant neighbors. We stayed Memorial Weekend for the 90th Old Time Fiddler's Convention, a joy. Went to bed with campground fiddling, woke to same. Pull-through sites with sewer, but no shade, go fast. We stayed in site 14. This campground is far from roads - quiet, with clear sky.

Date of Stay:

Close to interstate, but traffic not too loud. Good overnight stop or extended stay for woods, boating or fishing. Roads and sites asphalt. Our site was level. Very few pull throughs. Back ins deep and wide. Lots of available sites for our after hours arrival. Office closes at 5 pm. From rating of 10, -1 no toilet tissue in women's bathhouse, -1 lots of bugs in men's (must be opening somewhere), -1 dump site lid impossible to open without getting wet, -1 poorly marked, faded site numbers painted on asphalt. -1 poor checkout experience. Slow and irritating. Wish we found the after hours paperwork process to avoid meeting staff. Too much data collection using an awkward computer program with poor keyboarding skills by staff for a simple transaction. As we left staff was telling an active duty military that military discount applied to National Guard, only, and that was getting resolved. We will return, especially if we can schedule after hours arrival and payment.

Rate paid is Good Sam ($32) + 2 13 yr olds= $38 This campground breaks my scale. I rate it 10. Normally, I start with 10 and deduct for things the campground could control, like leaky water connections. This time I put it at 10, period. This is an Interstate (1/4 mile away) in route stop that becomes a destination. If you think in route campgrounds that are Big Rig friendly have to be sparce trees, think again. If you think Big Rig friendly has to be flat land, think again. If you think you've see the best bathrooms campgrounds offer, come here. We're a 17' hybrid (pop out) trailer with tents that do not hear the interstate because of the "hoot" owls. We are level, connected with no leaks, pull through. The Big Rigs have it as great. We've camped over 200 nights in 37 states since 2010 and these are the best bathrooms, period. Plenty of level, plenty of shade. Big Rigs do not required cutting trees. Come here to see how it is done. And this is not new, 1984 start, they know what they are doing.

Four of us. Two nights were charged $44 @ night. We extended a night at $40. Good Sam rate both times. Wi-Fi 2.4 meg down, .4 up. OK for email and checking web sites, not for uploading. Start with score of 10, -1 water connection under hatch in ground, -1 large trash collector lid either would not close or was off leaving many bags of trash exposed, -1 our back in site too short for trailer & truck so truck parked elsewhere (17' trailer & Dodge Dakota), -1 11 am check out. We walked to Heartbreak Hotel (short) and had burger dinner while watching big screen video's of Elvis concerts. Nicely done. This is a pure Elvis campground. To find it, find Heartbreak Hotel and go behind. Gated, patrolled, clean, good baths. We enjoyed Memphis and would camp here again.

Minus 1 point each for: Women's bathroom shower head poor (was quickly replaced), water connection very leaky & needs replacement, poor layout of men's showers, dump station water spout for cleanup too short to be usable. Site is level, large, and liberally spaced. Good place to weekend or longer camp alone or with family. Nice visitor center. Several activities. Great night sky. Quiet and dark. Wonderful bike areas & trails, but too far from major roads for overnight. No internet. Very limited phone. Fire rings in place & firewood for sale, plus plenty of grab your own. We will return.

Date of Stay:

Wi-Fi .5 meg down, 2.5 up. Ok for email. This is a Big Rig park and a park for an overnight while traveling. It is 100 yards from the interstate and noisy in our hybrid tent trailer unless we run the fan. Big Rigs arrive late and leave early. It is very clean, very spacious, very level. Looks like trees have been removed in favor of Rig space, so shade is limited and spaces with it occupied. Very friendly, helpful staff. One of few campgrounds we've use with no leaks from water/sewer connections. No leveling needed. Very nice picnic tables each site. Very clean restrooms and showers. The "store" very limited. Other than propane and an underused laundry and baths, nothing. Would like them to carry firewood, but we're the only one of 30 rigs that used it in two days. No minuses. Price is Good Sam rate, though not a Good Sam campground. Everything they can control, they do, and well. Location for on/off interstate excellent. If you can seal out the road noise, good place. We will not return because we are a hybrid tent trailer.

Wi-Fi, at 1.7 Mbps, was down not good enough for more than email. The shower water was not hot enough, but there were three or more hooks and a shelf in the shower. The purchased firewood was of poor quality. Not big rig friendly. Everything was back-in with either an up or down 5% slope. This is an adult camp not intended for children or overnight stops, though we camped with two 14 year olds overnight. Very quiet at night. It is in the middle of a residential area with a corner gas station and trailer park next door. Restrooms include showers and are extra clean and well designed. Expensive for what it is. We would not return.

Date of Stay:

Would stay here again. From 10 take: -1 no counter and very limited shelf space in bathhouse, -1 no seats in bathhouse, -1 inadequate hooks in bathhouse, -1 fire allowed in fire rings that do not exist, -1 noisy frogs (kidding) +1 night sky = no outside "general" lighting. This new campground will address things they know about. Most rigs probably don't use the bathhouse. Very generous site size, as if they plan to add another set of sites between existing sites in the future. Owner very nice and on top of things. Campground 150 feet from water.

Date of Stay:

From 10, deduct a point each for No Wi-Fi, no pool (recent rain), the clothes washers closed (drain problem), mini golf course in poor condition, the playground equipment is dirty, and "resort" advertised. We stayed one night. This is a good overnight that added "Resort" name and $15 to price, but does not have resort amenities. 250+ spots are residential. Bathroom very clean partly because it gets very little use. Extraordinarily long and level pull through sites. Good Sam rate. Saw no kids other than ours. Very good folks, but overreached on the advertising. We would not return.

Date of Stay:

Wi-Fi is not advertised and not available. Site is level and connections did not leak. This is a seasonal/work camp/residential campground. Over 1/2 the long units are live ins from TX, MI, OH and other states working on Pittsburgh projects as welders and steel handlers. Good people. We met folks from lots of places. Transient sites are poorly designed and laid. First, they are 10' too narrow, even for our 17' trailer. Second, they are back to back meaning one unit pull into one and another unit pulls immediately behind, though staff works real hard to keep this from happening. Third, W/E/S are tightly together so it was hard to put sewer in securely. Fourthly, W/E/S is at extreme end of site so if your sewer connect is more than 10' from end of camper, get an extension. Roads are very rough as if intended to keep traffic slow. Among the worst kept bathhouse we've seen. Office is not staffed. There is a sign to call if office is needed and response is quick. Bought wood at good price, but it was green. This is closest to PIT, and owners allowed us a generous time extension to get to PIT and back. We would not camp here again. From 10: -1 dirty showers, -1 tepid water (no temp adjust), -1 no bathhouse ventilation, -1 push button (20 sec per push) shower, -1 cobwebs and insect eggs in bathhouse, -1 trashy site including broken glass, -1 green firewood, -1 rutty roads, -1 office not staffed normal hours, -1 camp site design. + 1 staff very accommodating. If staff handled just a few of these items in their control, this could be a good place.

We would camp here again. Wi-Fi not advertised and not available. GPS directs to one exit north of exit to use: Davistown Rd exit. The campground can be seen from Interstate. This is a good overnight campground. It is near 24 hour gas & food and easy on/off interstate. When told we were overnight and in route, we got a pull through with WE30S that did not need leveling. Connections are tight. Maybe 10 campers are long term work campers with friendly and helpful people. Staff is great. Bathhouse and laundry are aged but spotless. In 27 days of camping, this was, by far, the best shower. No restrictors, timers, temp governors. Just powerful water hot enough to peel shrimp or cold enough to chill them - as you like it. There is, literally, room for two in the showers with a shower head on either end. This campground is a campground, not trying to be a resort or squeeze another nickel with another fee. Since camp was built the highway expanded adding noise from the highway, which is in sight. From 10: - nothing. They do not claim a thing they do not do well. The park welcomes families but does not have a pool or playground so I did not mark it family friendly, though it is.

Date of Stay:

Wi-Fi .58 up, .51 down. Strongest signal in the pool area. Signal is reliable from campsite, but slow. ATT phone full bars and 3G faster than Wi-Fi. Rate is for two adults and two 12 year olds with full hookups. If more KOA's were like this we'd be in KOA system. Wonderful site on heights on NE shore of lake with grand view of lake. Very peaceful and quiet. Wooded. Very clean pool kept at nice temperature. The entire place is kept clean. Easy access to sites. Pull through for transients like us. Mostly long term, seasonal folks most in "campers" that never move. Very helpful, friendly staff. Very caring about the park and their guests. This is a unique park. It is it's own destination and close to places fun to visit, too. From 10 subtract nothing. +1 exceptional helpfulness, +1 clean, +1 site.

Date of Stay:

This is a poor choice unless intending to dry camp. The only way we found to reserve a site is online which does not work for campers traveling, so this has to be a destination, not a stop over. For a tent or no hook up destination camper, this is a good camp. Rate is out of state rate. Desk manager assigned two sites that were not acceptable so we found a third. It needed picking up. We had no hook ups. Bathhouse had no ventilation, single temp water, which was too hot, and needed cleaning. Site was not level. We would not return. -1 not level, -1 bathhouse not ventilated, -1 bathhouse water too hot & not adjustable, -1 bathhouse not clean, -1 site trashy, -1 no listed way to call ahead day of arrival, -1 expensive, -1 from desk staff are not campers & not well trained.

Date of Stay:

Wi-Fi at laundry only. $45 is the 50 amp rate which we were charged though we are a 30 amp unit. Front desk assigned us a 50 amp only site so we got a new assignment. This is a long time family owned place with mainly seasonal or year around campers. Overnighters are few and camp without shade but close to bathhouse. Very quiet. Train did not bother us. Very good firewood supply and quality. Water connection leaked badly. Bathhouse uses a key and the shower was great. A sticky, clay type sand had been hauled in for site fill, but site still not level. Pot hole crew working on long neglected road leading beyond where we camped. We would not camp here again because of sand, 1 water connection, and front desk staff.
