Cloudland Canyon State Park, Rising Fawn, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

If you're into hiking and are in good shape, this place is a no-brainer. Beautiful waterfalls and scenery. And they have trails of all levels. Our site was so spacious too. Campground hosts are only temporary but we had a really nice one in the East rim. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Motorhome.

Beaver Run RV Park, Metter, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived after hours but the young couple managing the campground were friendly and very accommodating. It was a convenient halfway stop when driving from Augusta to Tybee. We didn't experience much in the way of amenities but we would camp here again. We camped at Beaver Run RV Park in a Motorhome.

River's End Campground & RV Park, Tybee Island, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

Pricey, but the only game in town. Not really anything to complain about. We only stayed for one night but enjoyed the pool and the beach. They have a decent little gift shop too. We camped at River's End Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park and very convenient to downtown Helen. Service was very good although no wifi or tv signal. The buffet at the lodge is very good when it's open. We camped at Unicoi State Park and Lodge in a Motorhome.

Yogi In The Smokies, Cherokee, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Can't really say anything negative about this campground. It is very kid-oriented so it's great if you have them. There are activities throughout the day, bike rentals, etc. to keep them busy. One of the things that I loved about it was, unlike the other campground down the road, it has true "riverfront" sites for a tent or small camper. Wi-Fi is okay when it's working. It was out of service for the first half of our trip. Going to the "Unto These Hills" show in town was one of the highlights of our vacation. We camped at Yogi In The Smokies in a Motorhome.

Asheville East KOA, Swannanoa, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful park with lakes and streams. Highway and train noise needs to be considered, but didn't spoil my trip or the natural beauty of the area. Nice location too, as it is close to Black Mountain (fun little town) and downtown Asheville. We camped at Asheville East KOA in a Tent Trailer.

Wildwood Park, Appling, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

There are very nice sites here on the lake and other sites that are relatively unexciting. They all seem to be good-sized. Employees at the front are not all that friendly but no significant issues. Great place for boaters -- there are lots of them here. Bath houses were frumpy. We camped at Wildwood Park in a Motorhome.

River Campground & Lodge, Lakemont, Georgia

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

I have stayed in other campgrounds that were close to the highway and hated it. This one has the advantage of being in a great location and is just far enough off the beaten path to maintain a sense of quiet and privacy. The slow moving river behind most of the sites is nice and they each have their own little covered deck. What we didn't know was that each evening before sunset, the otters would swim by. That was cool. I did not see sewage but there are hookups and fire pits strategically placed. Bath house was a bit of a compromise but I would be happy to camp there again. We camped at River Campground & Lodge in a Tent Trailer.

Andrews Cove Campground, Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2011 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

I'm crazy about this little park. It's like a rain forest in the middle of the mountains. Always damp here and very shaded. The outhouses are not great and you can forget about showers. But if you're looking for scenic (bubbling stream runs through middle of campground and you can set up right on it) then look no further. A great alternative to Unicoi State Park which of course has all of the amenities. We camped at Andrews Cove Campground in a Tent.
