Cedar Ridge COE, Lawrence, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2011 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

You expect things to be a little low-rent and utilitarian at a COE campground, and yeah--the shower/restrooms are nothing fancy, but they *work*, water pressure and temperature in the showers is nice, and they're kept nice and clean. The grounds themselves are attractive and pleasant, and staff very friendly and helpful, from the attendant to the custodian to the volunteers. We stayed here two full weeks, and would again in a heartbeat, once it warms back up in the spring! We camped at Cedar Ridge COE in a Tent.

Jellystone Park Camp Resort at Sioux Falls, Brandon, South Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Like most Jellystones, this one caters to families with young children--some folks complain about that, but it didn't bother us much. The Wi-Fi worked well, except on Labor Day weekend when the campground was very full. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Jellystone Park Camp Resort at Sioux Falls in a Tent.

Indianapolis KOA, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice campground set a little ways away from the city; it is near an interstate, but we did not find the highway noise terribly obtrusive. Restrooms were clean and in good repair, and the showers were hot, and with adequate water pressure. The wi-fi was excellent, and plenty fast. We got a spot that was a little on the small side for our big tent, and lacked shade. It wasn't a deal-killer for us, and when I mentioned it at checkout, the management said we should have spoken up--they'd have moved us! Great place to stay; we'll be back! We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Tent.

Country Acres Campground, Gordonville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The staff at this park were very friendly and helpful! The grounds are well-kept, and the restrooms and showers were clean. My only problem is that the handicap-accessible shower was a very long way from the tenting area--so much so, that I didn't bother, though I probably should have. (I have some minor mobility limitations.) Love this campground, and we'll definitely be back! We camped at Country Acres Campground in a Tent.

Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA, Fredericksburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

There are a number of tent sites right along the edge of the campground. We got a spot that had dense woods behind our tent--lovely place! The view across the front of our site was of the big-rig area, but the campground is clean and pretty, with tall trees everywhere. Camp staff were very friendly and polite! The Wi-Fi worked for general surfing and email, but was inadequate for streaming anything. The only "neg" I can give is that water pressure in the showers is a bit on the low side--a very minor matter indeed! We'll definitely be back here. We stayed two nights, and I would gladly have stayed longer. We camped at Fredericksburg VA / Washington DC S. KOA in a Tent.
