James Island County Park, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Great camp ground have used for years. CG has numerous facilities to keep families occupied, big dog park, fishing, boating, bike and walking paths galor. Think maintenance of CG has gone down recently. The sites have tree limbs and vines that brush and scratch coach. Tree branches that rub top of cars so also does to all other vehicles. Most of all there are numerous puddles that have standing water. One had green slime and had not been attended to. The low areas need attention. Mosquitos were large and plentiful. On edge of swamp bring bug spray. The sites are large-long and wide also friend friendly. One last, roads leading into CG need many of low hanging limbs trimmed. The new taller MH and 5th wheels are struck by branches. GC doesn't do road work but may be able County to do some work. We camped at James Island County Park in a Motorhome.

James Island County Park, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Great place stayed here numerous times. However the CG or stateneeds to have many of sites trimmed, brush hanging into spot and scrape unit. Entrance roads public highways have low hanging limbs which hit unit catching on roof a/c antenna. This is not CG issue but county or state. We camped at James Island County Park in a Motorhome.

Indianapolis KOA, Greenfield, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Great park with a large dog park. There is some shade making it hard to get satellite reception. There is no cable but antenna tv reception was good. Long pull throughs are gravel but not real level. They still believe water runs up hill for sewer. It is very dusty entering park which does need attention to repairs. We camped at Indianapolis KOA in a Motorhome.

Sycamore Lodge, Jackson Springs, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Once again promise service not available the on line reservation system not available as the manager said would be in operation May 1.

Will be interested to see if the septic revamp starts June 1. Septic hookups few, honey wagon 3X/weeks at a fee. Manager says too expensive to operate more often

Most sites are level but manager states can't level those which are not due to drainage, water still runs down hill. They are wide and easy to get into, even the back-ins. Roads are dirt and have pot holes but are wide and easy to navigate.

No cable. Satellite spotty due to many trees.

Have been a member for 6 years and have seen unneeded improvement and heard a lot of promises. Hard to get site even as a member. We camped at Sycamore Lodge in a Motorhome.

Shady Acres RV & Camping Park, Fort Myers, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The road into park was much worse than many dirt roads I have used while hunting. Have used park for 3 years, and it has gotten worse annually. Placed on inadequate location in old section with required 50a mp hookups. Sewer hookup higher than outlet on motorhome. Location tight for 42'. After a one-hour wait and 3 trips to office found manager making a personal call.

She arrived and in 15 seconds said space next to us would not be used. Upon arrival stayed for 30 days. Power not only on our spot but also on whole street kept going out. Park employee tried to identify problem without success. Did get electrical contractor for repairs; did fix some issues but we still had disruptions. Inexperienced manager kept saying it was our unit.

Manager very condescending to guests much older. She had no idea what was happening in her park. We along with others will not return next year. I would not recommend this park to anyone.

The newer section didn't seem to have problems. We camped at Shady Acres RV & Camping Park in a Motorhome.
