We camped here in a tent trailer with 2 kids aged 2 and 5. The campground was kind of tightly packed in. I kind of expected that near Rocky Mountain National Park. There are no fire pits in the regular camping area, probably due to the fact that it would force them to spread the sites out a little more. There area a couple of group fire pits on the grounds. We were told staff would come around before dark and put wood in the pit and light the fire. A group of us stood out one night and even flagged staff down and asked. We were told they were out of wood. There are wood boxes next to the pits and you could see inside through cracks and we could see there was plenty of wood. I don't know if it was just lazy staff or what. On the other side the very next night a younger guy (40's) came by and lit the fire and even put out extra wood. I just happened to be there at the time with my kids at the playground to see this. The same man came back later and checked to see if we needed more. Staff in general was horrible. Don't plan on going to the main buildings to ask for any help. You'll get an answer eventually after they snap at you. The staff here were elderly. It appeared they had to work here, instead of wanting to work here because they all acted like they hated it and it showed. It is definitely not like the normal elderly staff you find at most campgrounds who are wonderful. In short the park had wonderful views and was very close to the park. On the negative side we were here about 4 days and it was the worst staff I have ever seen. Other campers I spoke to agreed. I would look at other options before staying here again due to that.

My wife and I both thought it was one of the best campgrounds we have ever stayed in. It was great for the kids with the large swimming pool and brand new playground equipment. Lots of room at this campground. The only negative we found was a lack of bathroom facilities in all the campground sections and because the place is so big it can be quite a hike to the nearest bathroom. I thought if nothing else they would have at least has a portable toilet in the sections without a bathroom but they do not. Staff was helpful with helping us find a new site after one night not being near a bathroom. I would be careful to check the campground map when reserving. Even with that said, this was a wonderful place and the kids loved it. Won't even look at other options if we were to return to this area again.
