Sandy Riverfront RV Resort, Troutdale, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Best RV park in east Portland area, easy access from I-84, large pull-through sites with additional vehicle parking at each site on the banks of the Sandy River. Satellite access from most sites in the middle two rows, back-ins probably not (blocked by trees). We camped at Sandy Riverfront RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Chewelah Golf and Country Club RV Park, Chewelah, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Definitely value for the price. Located on a beautiful golf course on top of a mountain about 5 miles out of Chewelah, the rv park itself is a gravel parking lot but the sites are spacious (can hand big rigs), utilities work (except the wifi, which, as usual in rv parks, is questionable), and the nights are quiet and peaceful. We camped at Chewelah Golf and Country Club RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The golf course restaurant is good and again, a great value for the low prices. A casino outside of town is another draw as well as the cute little town itself, all surrounded by stunning mountain landscapes about an hour north of Spokane. Will definitely stay here again!

Whistle Stop RV Resort, Abilene, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a new park and the only downside is that the landscaping has not had time to mature. Large gravel sites, clean individual bathrooms, wide spacing. All utilities work well, including wifi. Close to WalMart, restaurants, five minutes from downtown Abilene. Will definitely stay here again. We camped at Whistle Stop RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the best that west Texas has to offer. Some sites have shade from mature trees, utilities worked well, including wifi. Small restaurant on site offers breakfast and dinner options. Good food at reasonable prices. Easy access for even large rigs. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overland Trail Campground, Fort Davis, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Location, location, location. This is an older park within east walking distance of restaurants and stores in Fort Davis. Owner can be a bit prickly but warms up. Sites are very close together in a somewhat shabby complex but utilities, including wifi, all worked well. OK for an overnight stop. We camped at Overland Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The reason for being here (other than the cooler weather) is the fort and it is a "not miss" visit. One of the best combinations of history and restorations that I have ever seen in my wanderings around the west. Highly recommend it!

Mesquite Tranquility RV Park, Alpine, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Definitely a park targeted to long-termers. Strange shower set-up, two uni-sex showers in a little room off the laundry with only shower curtains for privacy. My guess is not many women take a shower... Lots of bare ground, would be a mess in the rare rain. Way over-priced for what you get but the other option north of town was full... Would not stay here again unless no other choice. We camped at Mesquite Tranquility RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tumble In RV Park , Marfa, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

A West Texas RV park out on the prairie, so have reasonable expectations. Yes, it's windy and dusty. Sites are long, especially the pull-throughs, bathrooms clean and showers hot. WiFi works well. Would definitely stay here again. Reservations are a must. We camped at Tumble In RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stillwell Store and RV Park, Alpine, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

It is what it is, a great stop in the middle of the desert. Water/electric only sites across the road from the store in the middle of a huge open space with limitless desert views. Didn't use restrooms across the road, but this isn't a resort and doesn't pretend to be. I'd definitely stay here again on the way to Big Bend. We camped at Stillwell Store and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Broke Mill RV Park, Del Rio, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great option to stay on the way to Big Bend NP. Very well kept grounds just north of Del Rio, long gravel pull-throughs separated by grass. All utilities work well and are placed appropriately, Wifi works well. Will definitely stay here again. We camped at Broke Mill RV Park in a Motorhome.

Vaquero Village RV Park, Laredo, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

There are limited options in the Laredo area (two) and this is about 15 miles north of town. It's acceptable for an over night, but nothing to do that would justify staying longer. Most of the park seems to be long-term residents, but it is tidy and well kept. We camped at Vaquero Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Vip - La Feria RV Park (55+ park), La Feria, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is a snow-bird park that takes in over-nighters. Gravel back-in sites, some quite large, with concrete patios. This is an older park which has aged well, but is older. Little shade available, trees are tall palms. Easy access from freeway, wifi worked OK. I would stay here again as it's a nice, smaller park centrally located. We camped at Vip - La Feria RV Park (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Cactus Cart RV Park, Brownsville, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

The best thing about this park is the people, very friendly, most long-term residents. Otherwise, it's a miss. I seldom write a negative review but the last couple of posted reviews are very misleading (which is why I chose to stay here). The park consists of rigs backed helter-skelter around a poorly kept gravel driveway, it would be very difficult for a large rig to navigate into a spot, which are all back-ins. Clubhouse and bathrooms in a state of disrepair and nearly falling down, showers cost $1, wifi didn't work, patios of pavers buckled with age, grass not mowed. I would not stay here again, there are lots of other choices in the area. We camped at Cactus Cart RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nature's Own RV Resort, Kingsville, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Really a park meant for snowbirds, but OK for a one-night stop. The biggest issue is the traffic noise - it is right on a four-lane highway that is extremely busy 24 hours a day. Otherwise safe, clean and great dog park. We camped at Nature's Own RV Resort in a Motorhome.

San Antonio KOA, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

One of the best, no question about it. Location is great, city bus stop right at the gate, goes directly downtown to River Walk and the Alamo in about 25 minutes. Big park but doesn't feel crowded, walking paths around the perimeter, fresh pizza available on site, nice people. Wifi worked well. Definitely the place to stay in San Antonio!
