Salome KOA

Salome, Arizona

Date of Stay:

This park is in the desert, and there are two stores close by, Family Dollar and a Korean general store. Management is very good, and during season every Monday there is a pot luck; the entertainment is at the church in Hope which is about 2 miles from park. The sites are all gravel with no shade, exceedingly hot in the summer, May through October. WIFI is good, and the pool and spa are a welcome respite from the daily grind of camping. The downside is most of the people that come here are ATV'rs, and they hang together, but most are friendly and helpful. This is our third year here, and we will be coming back next year.

Date of Stay:

We stayed here for six months and enjoyed our visit. The pool was only open for four months due to weather May was cool and so was September. The city and area are really nice for shopping and exploring, Like the bottom of Zion National Park. City pool is really nice when the park pool is closed. This is horse country and with that comes the flies, so don't forget the swatter.

Date of Stay:

Made mistake by not checking site before parking as we were monthly. The site is located beside a heavily traveled side road, usually 40 mph although posted at 25. The pool is above ground good for floating at 4 feet deep. Mostly used by managers grandchildren. Showers are $1.50 for nine minutes. There are free showers by the spa, which is old and not very powerful except for the center jet. Managers are very considerate and friendly. The monthly rate is $295 + electric and they have many park models of which most owners are unfriendly to transients. We were ripped off first day by neighbor who stated he was a mechanic and as our water pump needed repair he would fix it and needed $85 for parts, never saw him again. Would try and not stay here again.

Date of Stay:

Managers friendly. After first week we were informed the rent would be increased $50 a month. Was $400 a month including electric. Basic cable was free and Wi-Fi was available at the clubhouse. Showers were inoperative during our one month stay. There is no laundry and the site was dusty and rocky. Needed a 50 to 30 amp adapter. Would not camp here again. Most sites used by 'permanent' residents.
