Lake in the Forest RV Resort, Ocklawaha, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Park is pretty and quite, way off the road. Lots of horses, ponies, a lama, and wild birds. Site was level, however, grass was not cut and was ankle high. Lots of snowbirds winter, but had left before our arrival. There is a pool which looked nice but we didn't use. The park is over priced and they charge $5 per guest even if the guest just visit during the evening for a few hours and do use the facilities. We camped at Lake in the Forest RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Big Oak RV Park, Tallahassee, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Park has beautiful oak trees with wide level sites. Gravel sites with old cement patios and old wooden picnic tables. Park is OK, but way over priced as there is no pool or other amenities. Easy access to I-10, located on Rt 27, however lots of road noise. We camped at Big Oak RV Park in a Motorhome.

New York City North / Newburgh KOA, Plattekill, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

We checked into the KOA campgrounds around 5 pm and was assigned a pull-through site like we requested. However, at most KOA campgrounds we have camped at we were assisted to the site, here we were not. Due to the very narrow camp roads and sharp turns we missed our site and returned to the office and asked for assistance which we were given. Our pull-through site was really difficult to drive our motor home into due to the tight corners and narrow site. The site was not at the quality that I expect from KOA campgrounds; the perimeter of the site had pieces of trash and cigarette butts all around and the worst was the thick poison ivy all around the site including around the power pedestal. The cable TV hookup was of very poor quality with lots of interference giving a very poor quality TV picture and only a few of the stations listed could actually be viewed. Our neighbor camper had such poor electrical hookup he could not run his AC and temperature was in the high 90’s. For $66 a night I expect a much better campsite that is clean and not loaded with poison ivy. Being an experienced camp host at state parks I would never allow a campsite to be in such poor condition. I would not recommend this campground to anyone especially to my fellow FMCA members We camped at New York City North / Newburgh KOA in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground, nice and quiet, and a very friendly staff. We had a pull-through site with full-hookup and all worked very well. The grounds are extremely kept nice and clean. We would definitely camp here again. We camped at Gaslight Campground in a Motorhome.

Cardinal Center Campground, Marengo, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Really nice campground with nice shaded sites. Easy access from I-71 and very little road noise. A really nice country restaurant is just a short walk from the campgrounds. The only problem we had was the 50 amp service had some problems otherwise the park was really nice and we would stay there again. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Motorhome.

Casey KOA, Casey, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The sites here are nice with lots of room and shade. The park also has a very nice laundry facility. However, the 50 amp service was not working properly, seemed like a improper ground. We even changed sites and the 50 amp service seemed to work at the second site at first, but as soon as a load was put on it, it failed. None of the pull through sites have sewer hookups and from what I could see there were no sites with sewer hookups. They do have a dump station. I would probably not stay here again due to the problem with the electrical and lack of sewer hookups. We camped at Casey KOA in a Motorhome.

Priest Gulch Campground & RV Park, Dolores, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Really great campgrounds, nicely wooded with lots of shade and well spaced campsites. We stayed two weeks and it was absolutely beautiful. The campgrounds even provides free firewood and the Dolores River runs right through the campgrounds that has good fishing and great atmosphere. There is free WiFi that worked fairly well, but did have a problem the last day we were there, however, there were lots of thunderstorms there every afternoon. We will stay here again and recommend this site to all. We camped at Priest Gulch Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.
