Kentucky Horse Park Campground, Lexington, Kentucky

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Park is open all year. Rates drop to $28. Water is turned off at sites until March, but you can get drinkable water at the dump stations. The restrooms are clean enough and they had a space heater running to keep it warm. Only one of the two restrooms is open during the winter season. The showers have water saver heads in them, so you get more of a lukewarm mist than a good hot shower. Sites are fairly large with a picnic table and fire ring at each site. There are not many trees. Wi-Fi is available. We camped at Kentucky Horse Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Airport RV Park, Carthage, North Carolina

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Previous review is right on, except I thought the meals at the Pik n Pig were wonderful. There are 16 sites in a circle with the sites being very close to each other. Some sites are shaded; some are in direct sun. Most are back-in sites. Each site does have a picnic table. I couldn't pull in the Wi-Fi at all. TV reception was pretty good. I think the cost is rather high considering there are no restroom facilities at all. It was convenient for me to stay here due to touring the area. The owner was very nice and accommodating. We camped at Airport RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park, Vicksburg, Mississippi

Date of Stay: December, 2014
Overall Rating:

I stayed here while working in Edwards and Bolton. Although I didn't want to commute this far, choices for campgrounds closer weren't that great. Ameristar was fine. There was a shuttle that came through a few times an hour to bring you to the casino. It was convenient, but if you're in good physical shape, the casino was well within walking distance. Restrooms were clean. Laundry was $2.00 per load and $2.00 per dry cycle. Cable was good. The park was clean and safe. Not many trees for shade. My only gripe is I was parked right in front of the office (site 25) and the shuttle turned around directly behind my rig, causing the headlights to shine in my back window. I would stay here again, but request a site further away from the main drive. I stayed here in a Class B conversion Van, which is not listed as an option. We camped at Ameristar Vicksburg RV Park in a Motorhome.
