Albany / Corvallis KOA, Albany, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful large campground. Level sites, nice hookups, lovely pool, berries ripe for the picking. Very nice dog play area, and very clean playground. We only stayed for one day on the return leg of our vacation, but this campground was lovely and we will plan a longer visit on our next trip North. We camped at Albany / Corvallis KOA in a Motorhome.

JGW RV Park, Redding, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely open well maintained campground. We arrived after the office had closed and our spot was mapped out and a red cone set up to point out the location. Large level pull through sites with patios, excellent hookups, all well maintained. Nice heated pool, large pet area, fully fenced. The Sacramento River is accessible all along the back of the property. Just lovely. We camped at JGW RV Park in a Motorhome.

Flag City RV Resort, Lodi, California

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Clean level paved park making it a good stopping point heading North and close enough to be a good base for Lodi and Sacramento. The office closes early, but there is truck stop parking nearby and major shopping only a few miles east on highway 12. Lovely pool, everything is very clean, sites are large and access is easy. We camped at Flag City RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Cascade Locks / Portland East KOA, Cascade Locks, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely rustic KOA. Trees abound, gravel dirt sites were level and the hookups were good. The location was very close to the Dam and fish locks, short drive to Mt. Hood, and about 30 minutes from Portland. Berries everywhere for the kids to pick. The 9 year olds enjoyed the bike riding and the playground. The park is located adjacent to a very busy train track, and there is a crossing nearby, so the horn sounds. The kids thought this was neet, others may find it disturbing. We would return to this KOA when visiting Portland. We camped at Cascade Locks / Portland East KOA in a Motorhome.

Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA, Port Angeles, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

A lovely, large KOA central to Port Angeles. Very helpful friendly staff, large newly refreshed level sites, clean concrete tables and patio. Very large property with plenty of places for the 9 year olds to bike and play, large clean playground, very large enclosed pet area. Beautiful view.

There is a treed lower area, looks like for smaller RVs and tenting, and a large open upper area for large rigs. We were told even more improvements are planned for the future. Very nice, we hope to return. We camped at Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA in a Motorhome.

Seattle / Tacoma KOA, Kent, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Great location, minutes from the Boeing Air Museum, very close, short drive to downtown Seattle. Very nice playground, the 9 year olds enjoyed the evening family movies. Good hookups. Spots were level but a bit tight. There are limited sites for 40' and above, we opted for the last 40' site with 30amps. Parked the toad at the office. Very nice KOA, we would return with family. We camped at Seattle / Tacoma KOA in a Motorhome.

The Reef RV Park, Puerto PeƱasco (Rocky Point), Sonora

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We had a lovely beachfront site. Easy hookup. Good Water. Electric was a real problem. Voltage in Mexico is 137volts on each leg. Our transfer switch would not accept the high voltage. Some campers bypassed this, I'm not so brave, so we used generator by day and inverter by night. Still had a wonderful week. There is a 1/2 mile stretch of sandy dirt road getting into the park. Well traveled and easy to drive, just dusty. We camped at The Reef RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Wrecked at the Reef restaurant, on site, is excellent. Mary's fish restaurant on the Mercado was excellent for lunch. Plan to have your car washed when you park for lunch. They did a good job.

Great location, on the river. Very clean, level sites, good power, good water, cable digital TV available. Escort to site with help setting up offered freely. Very safe location, very clean. Yreka RV Park, Yreka, California

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped for an overnight rest. Friendly office, level site, very clean. Many longer stay RVs, but all well kept. Quiet, as it is just far enough off the highway, nice enclosed dog run, the mountain scenery is lovely. It served our purpose of a place to rest, have dinner and breakfast, and head back on the road perfectly. We camped at Yreka RV Park in a Motorhome.

Benbow KOA (formerly Benbow RV Park), Garberville, California

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This can easily be as destination campground. We stayed 3 nights, but certainly did not run out of things to do. Adjacent golf course for those who play. Excellent dinner at the lodge (5star), large pool, spa, playground. Lots of grass, gravel pads, good hookups, excellent cable, good WiFi. In the heart of the Redwoods, this makes a great basecamp for the area. We camped at Benbow KOA (formerly Benbow RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Turtle Rock RV Resort, Gold Beach, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

A lovely destination campground. We had a premium site with a private spa, deck and BBQ. The spa was hot and spotless, the large BBQ came with a full tank of propane. Everything was green and lovely next to a running river. The park is rustic, not a lot of concrete, mostly gravel and grass. Older buildings, very ocean community rustic, but lovely. Very friendly, lots of staff and caretakers. We camped at Turtle Rock RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The office can schedule with Jerry's Jet Boat, and they can arrange fishing outfitters and guides. A few casual restaurants within walking distance.

Red Bluff RV Park, Red Bluff, California

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely quiet campground far enough off I-5 so that you don't have highway noise. Very grassy, gravel level sites with good hookups. Nice pool, large dog area, grass and gravel but not enclosed as a run. This would be a nice base for the Red Bluff/Redding area. We camped at Red Bluff RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sommerville Almond Tree RV Park, Coalinga, California

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is a overnight stop for the tired traveler between Sacramento and LA. Large level pull though gravel spots with grassy dividers (as grassy as you can get in SoCal drought...but sort of grassy) Easy check in at a friendly office. Good hookups, iffy free WiFi, quiet, sheltered from highway noise. Truck stop and gas station very near, but you don't hear them (I didn't) and a Baja Fresh. I give it an excellent rating because it is perfect for what is...a clean overnight stay. We will stay again, as we travel that route often. We camped at Sommerville Almond Tree RV Park in a Motorhome.

Maple Leaf RV Park, Morgan Hill, California

Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very well kept, friendly campground. Many residents are long term, however all the sites I viewed were well maintained. There is an evening security guard, although I saw no immediate need. The area seems safe. The pool is lovely. Facilities are spotless. Shopping is only a few blocks away. The on site store is stocked with many essentials. I stayed for 3 weeks for business, but I would return for a day or two next time in the area. We camped at Maple Leaf RV Park in a Motorhome.
