Lake Elsinore Marina & RV Resort, Lake Elsinore, California

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This is a rather strange place. I am not familiar with the area but ended up here when the places closest to San Diego that I was interested in were all booked. It is a very reasonably priced. It is virtually empty, except the for the full timers. On the holiday weekend the place filled completely.

The sites are not level. It seems that cable is available for an extra cost. The internet is just horrible. For many days it was not even available. They had to wait for the provider to show up after the weekend. The download rate is 1.61 mps. Upload is .46. Just awful. And I was just feet from the office.

After the holiday weekend it took several days for the garbage to be all collected as it was too much for the dumpsters. Instead of having extra pickups, they just keep filling the dumpster on regular pickups.

Overall I can't really recommend this place. But if you need a place to stay I would not dissuade you from coming. I felt safe and it is convenient to Costco, Walmart and other stores. We camped at Lake Elsinore Marina & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Stanislaus County Fairgrounds, Turlock, California

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very convenient if you have to stay in the area. But the loudest trains I've experienced. Rates have increased to $25 contrary to what the website says. A very nice host. An ant problem at the train track side of the park. No restrooms or showers. We camped at Stanislaus County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Rivers Edge RV Park, Sparks, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

The park is clean and the personnel were friendly. Sites are very close with no picnic tables. The public park that is between the RV park and the river makes it feel unsafe. Homeless were wandering by. Walking the dog out there after dark was very uncomfortable. And the park being at the end of the runway of the Reno airport was just too much. My rate shown is the Rib Cook Off rate. They nearly double the usual rate. In previous years I stayed at the Sparks Marina. It would have been cheaper to stay there. We camped at Rivers Edge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Carson Valley RV Resort, Minden, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2009 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We found this park to be clean and well maintained. The sites are close as typical in most parks. We received more in coupons for the casino than the cost of the site. It has a fenced dog run. Would stay here again. We camped at Carson Valley RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Anaheim RV Park, Anaheim, California

Date of Stay: January, 2008 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Great location and a very nice place. They no longer offer a free shuttle. Also no longer offer a discount for GS or AAA. They need a fenced dog run. Wi-Fi is not free. I have always stayed here, but may try another park next time. We camped at Anaheim RV Park in a Motorhome.

San Antonio KOA, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2007 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is based on a monthly rate. Fire ants are everywhere. We were placed in a part that did not have cable TV available. Also, the free WI-FI was pretty much non existent. The trees dripped all over our rig. Leaves were everywhere. It did not seem like it was being maintained at all. The laundry rooms are outdoors and my wife refused to use it. The roads are very tight. I'm glad I disconnected our tow vehicle because I could not make some corners. I would not stay here again. We camped at San Antonio KOA in a Motorhome.

J & H RV Park (55 + Park), Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2006 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Actually a very nice park. Unfortunately, it feels like living in a prison camp. A senior couple across from us had had a young couple visit with their tiny baby. Maybe great-grandson or something. The owner chased them from parking in front of the spot. It was clearly NOT interfering with any traffic. The couple left in less than a half an hour. It was sad for them to have to move their van for only a few minutes when is would not have interfered with anyone anyway. Also, they encourage you to turn in your neighbor for bad behaviour. In fact, they REWARD you for turning in your neighbor for bad behaviour. On top of all that, the picnic tables are stained. Unfortunately, it stains your clothes when you sit on it. The sites were not level as you would expect. My friend stayed in a smaller site for his little class c. He could barely open his door without hitting the RV nest door. I never seen anything like it. But they did have a good dog run. We camped at J & H RV Park (55 + Park) in a Motorhome.

Saguaro RV Park, Jackpot, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2006 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

It was pretty good. The sites are stacked, meaning that you line up end to end, two sites at a time. So when I pulled in with my toad, I could only hook up my electric, which was the highest priority. I was running a chest freezer and wanted electricity. We ate at the casino, and the food was ok. I would stay here again, as a pit stop. We camped at Saguaro RV Park in a Motorhome.

RedRock RV Park, Island Park, Idaho

Date of Stay: June, 2006 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great campground. They guide everyone into their site. Everyone is very friendly. The sites are large and grassy. The Wi-Fi worked great for me all but the last night. Maybe too many users. The main problem for me was no Cingular service. Verizon did come in. You could drive a short distance and get Cingular. The laundry seemed a bit under capacity for the demands. But was very clean. I would stay there again, but for the cell phone. We camped at RedRock RV Park in a Motorhome.

Anaheim RV Park, Anaheim, California

Date of Stay: May, 2006 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

If you are going to Disney, this is the place. We checked out the other RV parks in the area, and this is definitely the best. The free shuttle also makes it the best choice. I will stay here again. The only thing that could have made it better would be larger sites. But this is the big city. We camped at Anaheim RV Park in a Motorhome.

Valencia Travel Village, Castaic, California

Date of Stay: April, 2006 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great park. But there are a lot of "permanent" residents. One even had a car up on jackstands. They are mainly on the back rows. The best sites are in the front. The pool is great. The dog run is great. I would stay here again. We camped at Valencia Travel Village in a Motorhome.
