Campfire Lodgings, Asheville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2006 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Access to campground is via a steep dirt road. But don't shy away from this one, the views across the French Broad River to the Blue Ridge Mountains is spectacular (I'll bet Vanderbilt wishes he had this view at Biltmore Estate). Campground has lots of wildlife. It is clean and very quiet. The only reason I rated this campground a 9 instead of a 10 was because of the access road (some signs would help to assure the driver that they are on the right path). We camped at Campfire Lodgings in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is difficult to find on a narrow residential street. Sites are all gravel and definitely not level. Managers are pleasant and willing to help. Lots of long term campers. We camped at Shady Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
