Raccoon Holler Campground, Glendale Springs, North Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Nice grounds, great lake with a view. But if you show up with a dog (any size or breed) you simply are not welcome. Management tries to accommodate visitors but has mostly seasonal sites. The seasonal guests sort of write their own rules, leaving both unhappy seasonal and visiting guests. We've traveled and camped all over this country never seen anything like it. No second chances here, this was out of control. We camped at Raccoon Holler Campground in a Motorhome.

High Rock Lake Marina & Campground, Lexington, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Clean and friendly, sites are a little tight and access is no so easy. This is mainly for seasonal visitors, few overnight spaces for larger rigs. Grounds are kept very nice, buildings are dated, they are clean but due to the age you don't get that clean fresh feeling. Pet friendly. Hey, they do have a very nice grilled chicken salad at their deli. We camped at High Rock Lake Marina & Campground in a Motorhome.

We love James Island. Each year around the holidays we camp here. The main attraction is the holiday light display. It is about a 2 mile loop we drive it every night. Lots of great work campers. A bunch of friendly people that make us want to return again and again. We camped at James Island County Park in a Motorhome.
