Sunset State Beach, Watsonville, California

Date of Stay: March, 2007 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Great little county park right outside of Santa Cruz. Not much space for big rigs, but we did get our 34' fifth wheel in. The beach is down the hill quite a bit and they provide stairs that are built into the hill side. The camp host did sell fire wood. We will be back. We camped at Sunset State Beach in a Fifth Wheel.

Mad River Rapids RV Park, Arcata, California

Date of Stay: October, 2006 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This place is horrible! The manager was a drunken buffoon, all he did at night was bark orders and drink his beer. He even kicked out a young couple who brought their new born baby because someone complained about the baby crying at night. This place is straight out of the twilight zone. We will never be back. We camped at Mad River Rapids RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The place is way overcrowed and full of drunken teens. You can't even see the water from the campground. The whole town of Bethel Island looks like it's full of meth heads. We camped at Sugar Barge Resort & Marina in a Motorhome.

Moss Landing KOA Express, Moss Landing, California

Date of Stay: April, 2006 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

I prepaid in advance for our site and spent the first night, but had to leave for a family emergency so I could not stay for the second night. When I told this to the front desk the lady said she would not refund my money or credit me a one night stay. I would have to say stay away from this place. The management is very rude and only thrives on the all mighty dollar. We camped at Moss Landing KOA Express in a Fifth Wheel.

Saratoga Springs, Saratoga, California

Date of Stay: January, 2006 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This campground does have promise, but needs some work. It needs new management, dump station, and get rid of the residents who live there in their RV's. A campground is for short term stays not building a deck next to your RV. The morning time you can hear all the cars starting up and people leaving the campground to go to work. The bathrooms had lines out the door because the long term residents have no sewer hook ups. It's a pretty park but it's used more as a residence. Don't waste your money. We camped at Saratoga Springs in a Fifth Wheel.
