Emerald Desert RV Resort, Palm Desert, California

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Brilliant idea to open the resort to families in the hot, summer season! We had a 6-day stay and loved it. Clean, lush grounds, spots and facilities. There was only a total of 5 other RVs there on and off the entire time which meant the grounds, pools and amenities nearly all to ourselves. Great location for doing the Palm Springs tourist stuff. A gated entry at night made it feel secure. The only drawback, but won't stop us from going again, is the noise from the freeway and train, it's a little much at times (perhaps because the Resort was basically empty). I will make sure to request a spot on the south side of the park, where you won't hear it. I wouldn't worry about "no kids" in the adult pool. We used it with no issues though staff told us we'd need to leave if any "adults only" showed up. I hope the owners lighten up a little on this though, especially as word gets out what a cool place this is for a family, summer getaway. If you need a "scene" to be seen, this is not the place for you. If you need an onsite restaurant or bar, it's also not the place for you. It was perfect for a relaxing, fun, family vacation. Our kids were never bored. Sooo much better than the overpriced "summer deals" offered at the big Palm Springs resorts where you share the pool with a thousand other, hot, sweaty, most of the time obnoxious, other families. We camped at Emerald Desert RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Rancho Jurupa Park, Riverside, California

Date of Stay: May, 2011 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We come here for Labor Day weekend with several other families and we love it. The kids look forward to it every year. The addition of the mini-golf and water playground is perfect!! Lots of great, family memories to be made. We've stayed in both the older and new camping loops, love them both though I prefer the older section because it's right on the lake with mature trees, huge spots and tons of grass to spread out and have fun! We camped at Rancho Jurupa Park in a Motorhome.
