Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA, Harpers Ferry, West Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2010 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

The reason I gave this campground a low rating is the price. All campers pay a $5.00 fee for the amenities whether you use them or not. I am referring to the pool, putt putt, dog park, moon bounce, etc. Also, to reserve a specific site for the future you have to pay a $20.00 fee to hold that site otherwise you could get bumped off your site. I will not stay there again. We camped at Harpers Ferry / Civil War Battlefields KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Pine Mountain RV Park, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: December, 2009 - $55.00

This campground is really clean. It's only a little over a year old. All of the sites are paved with concrete patios. Two reasons I didn't give it a 10 are the sewer connection is in the very back of the site. You need a least 20' of hose to connect. The Wi-Fi connection was poor at best. I was all the way in the back of the campground. I only saw 2 transmitters for it in the middle of the campground. Other than that it was fine. We camped at Pine Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages, Pine Grove, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2008 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The sites are rather small with the exception of a few pull thrus. A lot of sites are not level and drop off outside your door. The drinking water is not very good so bring your own. Roads and most sites are gravel which most dog owners don't like. Pool was very cool due to recent rains. Quiet at night. Not many shaded sites. We camped at Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages in a Travel Trailer.

Splash Magic Campground & RV Resort, Northumberland, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2007 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here last year and decided to come back as the kids had such a good time. Things changed this year. First the staff seems not as pleasant as they were before. There was not as many activities for the kids to do especially during the week. The pool could use some cleaning. On Sunday when the weekenders are leaving there is no water pressure. We went to the office and advised them of the problem and were told that it is because so many people are leaving and using more water. That's no excuse. They should be sure their pumps can handle a full campground. We had relatives that stayed a week after us and the same thing happened with the water. I believe they cut back the water so people won't use as much. I don't think we will be back next year. We camped at Splash Magic Campground & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Splash Magic Campground & RV Resort, Northumberland, Pennsylvania

This campground is now called Splash Magic. It is not a Yogi Bear anymore. We camped with 2-5 yr. old girls. They had a ball. They have 3 pools. I splash pool, 1-regular pool and 1-adult pool. They also have a hot tub for adults. They have activities all day including wagon rides with Splash and Magic their mascots. It is about 25 minutes from Knoebels Amusement Park which is also great. We had 2 of their family sites which are awning to awning. The length is about 60 feet but the width is huge. We are definitely staying there again. Adventure Bound Camping Resorts (formerly Duncan's), Lothian, Maryland

Date of Stay: May, 2005 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

The facilities are in need of repair. The bath houses need a complete upgrade. There are a lot of permanent sites. The roads are dusty. I had to use the 50 amp socket as the 30 amp kept tripping. On Sat morning the staff came around cutting and trimming grass throwing clippings all over our carpet and chairs. I had to run them off. It was close to the road with road noise up to about 7pm. The sites were fairly level. We would go back. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resorts (formerly Duncan's) in a Travel Trailer.
