Cedar Valley RV Park , Guthrie, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

This park is 6 miles off I-35, easy to get to. The owner of the park is very new. He was asking me a lot questions. The owner tried to get me to stay and be a workamper for him. There are about 40 sites being used for long term. There seems to be a lack of pride throughout the park by the long term residents. Our site which was up by the office away from the other long term people. Our site was ok. The owner has not mowed the park for a couple of weeks. We would camp here again for a 1 nighter. The rate included $2.00 for electricity. We camped at Cedar Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was the second time we have stayed at this park. This park is ideal for 2 or 3 days. The rate for camping included $2.00 for electricity. Their sites are grass pull thru's. Electric was good, we had the air on each day. We camped at Red River Ranch RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Safari RV Park, League City, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 2 1/2 weeks, and have been here before. The weekly rate is $150.00 or get a discount rate of $16.00 by using your Passport America for 3 nights. There are 11 sites all pull thrus. The sites need some TLC. The manager of the park has no maintenance person to help. The park is close to anything you might need. We camped at Safari RV Park in a Motorhome.

You are close to the Johnson Space Center, Kemah Boardwalk, and about 22 miles to Galveston Island. You are also close to a big outlet mall to the south, and about 5 miles north to Bay Area Mall. There is a Propane Gas place about 1 block north from the park on the same street.

Lazy Palms Ranch, Edinburg, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here before, but will not come back anymore. Since the new owner took over the park 2 years ago a lot of the park has not been updated. The grass had not been cut. The sand burrs has overtaken the park. Our poor puppy got burrs all the time. The wash machines are old and rusty. They have been putting in cement patios, but they are not very usable. Case in point. If I wanted to use the patio at our site, then we could not hook up to sewer unless we had 30 feet of sewer hose. We camped at Lazy Palms Ranch in a Motorhome.

Wilderness Oaks RV Park (formerly Rockport 35 RV Park Resort), Rockport, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 1 night, in a drive through site, not a lot of room between sites. The other sites that they have are for winter Texans are much better and have a lot more room. This park is primarily used for winter visitors from up north and Canada. We have been here 3 other times. We camped at Wilderness Oaks RV Park (formerly Rockport 35 RV Park Resort) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The park has a lot of activities for the winter campers. There is a Super Walmart, a HEB store to shop for groceries. The park is close to the Gulf of Mexico. Rock Port has several banks. This also a RV dealership on the westside of town if you need repairs or parts.

Cagle Recreation Area, New Waverly, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This park changed their fee policy for this year. They charge $16 for the site and give you your senior discount for $8, then they charge you for water and electricity with no discount. Then, when you reserve online you have to pay another $9. I guess this is a for profit campground. I won't camp here again. I can go to a private campground closer to Houston and get all the amenities, plus easier access to the sky for our satellite for about the same price. We camped at Cagle Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Clear Spring COE, Texarkana, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Nice quiet park, paved roads and sites. We were able to get satellite tv on site b8. We have Verizon a little slow but worked. Our site needed some minor pick up a lot of small trash. I guess today's campers don't know how to pick up. Would recommend, and camp there again. We camped at Clear Spring COE in a Motorhome.

Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground), Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Gulpha Gorge is a urban campground next to a highway that takes you into town. The highway has a lot of traffic, but you get used to it. This park is a first come first serve. It has a long walking trail, almost 1 mile long. They have a automated machine that checks you in and takes your money. You need to make sure you have the correct amount when you are paying. There are no showers, but nice bathrooms. Our Verizon works great here. If you are using satellite make sure you dish is mobile. We camped at Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Lincoln Parish Park, Ruston, Louisiana

Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

My wife and I have been here before, January last year. The park is on a hill over looking a small lake. They do allow swimming in the summer time. The sites are paved and also the roads. We always stay at site # 19 so we can use our satellite system. We have Verizon internet and it works very well. The park has a lot of trees, so some sites you will probably have a problem finding enough open space for a satellite dish. We could not get any local channels. I could not give the park a 10 like others, because it does not have swimming pool and available wifi. We will stay again. We camped at Lincoln Parish Park in a Motorhome.

Coushatte Recreation Ranch, Bellville, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This park is used for our district rally each year. The park is about the same as it was in 2011 when my wife and I came for our first rally. A lot of projects started but not finished. The park is quite plain jane, although it does have full hook ups. It is not kid friendly. There are another 200 to 250 sites for mobile homes. There are a lot of oak trees throughout the park. Coushatte does offer wi fi to its long term residents, but I don't know the cost. Our camping chapter uses this park at least once a year. We camped at Coushatte Recreation Ranch in a Motorhome.

Lemon Tree RV Inn, Mission, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2014 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a 55 and older campground, used mainly for the winter by Winter Texans. The rate is $300 a month plus electric if you pay by the month, cheaper if you pay for the whole winter at once. The park has a large clubhouse, nice swimming pool, paved streets. The sites have paved patios and paved place to park your vehicle. Your RV is parked on grass. There are 40 RV sites and the other spots have park models on them. We are staying here for 2 months. We will be here again. We camped at Lemon Tree RV Inn in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: January, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

My wife and I have been here before. We used this park as a overnight stay. The sites are paved pull-throughs. This park is a winter Texan type park that has a lot of people from the northern states and Canada. We will stay here again. The park is close to almost everything that you would need and close to the Gulf. We camped at Wilderness Oaks RV Park (formerly Rockport 35 RV Park Resort) in a Motorhome.

Beacon 7 RV Park, Seadrift, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2014 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We were going to stay at this park, but it was raining very hard, and because the park didn't have pull-through sites we went on down the road to Rockport, Texas and found a park that was paved and had pull through sites. Beacon Park is owned by local husband and wife. The park would be good for a weekend to fish, because it is close to the water. The new part of the park has no trees and was cleared out made into a extension of the old park. We would only stay here for a day and only in the fall, winter, and spring. The summer time would be to hot. We camped at Beacon 7 RV Park in a Motorhome.

Safari RV Park, League City, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2013 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Safari RV park is a Passport America park, with rates for 3 days. If you stay longer you get a discounted rate off their regular rate. My wife and I have stayed at this park off and on for 8 years. The park has the same manager. Safari also offers long term camping in their RV section or mobile home section. The park's location makes it very convenient to a lot of places to explore. We camped at Safari RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lake Conroe RV Resort (formerly Lake Conroe Park And RV At McCaleb Roa, Montgomery, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2013 - $325.00
Overall Rating:

This park has new ownership, new sites added, paved roads, nice sites. I have a level concrete space with nice cement patio. Good reception with my Verizon Internet, also excellent area for satellite television. My rate was based on monthly cost, plus 15 cent electric kilowatt rate. This park is mainly for long term. But they do take Passport America when space is available. I would use this park again. I am here for six weeks for a seasonal job. We camped at Lake Conroe RV Resort (formerly Lake Conroe Park And RV At McCaleb Roa in a Motorhome.
