Fireside Resort at Buffalo Valley , Moran, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

The only positives for this park are a view of the mountains, and proximity to Grand Teton Park. The park is in poor condition. In the laundry room near out site, one of four washers and two of four dryers did not work. We received only two television stations with our antenna, and the reception was poor. The lights in the men bathroom did not work. The Diesel fuel sold there was 40 cents higher than other campgrounds in the area. I think the campground is overpriced. We would have preferred to stay at Colter Bay for less money, but could not get in. This campground will do just to have a place to sleep, since there are not many campgrounds close to Grand Teton. We camped at Fireside Resort at Buffalo Valley in a Fifth Wheel.

Rustic Wagon RV Campground and Cabins, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

The owners/management were very accommodating and helpful. They do not accept credit cards, and since I called for a reservation a few days before arriving, they held the campsite without a deposit. This campground is very clean; I believe the restrooms were the cleanest I've seen in a campground. It is a little tight getting in and out, depending on which site you are in. We could pull straight in from the alley, but had to back up to get out. Staying here was a pleasant experience, and we would stay here again. We camped at Rustic Wagon RV Campground and Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Prairie Haven Campground, Eckelson, North Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is open--at least it was open the end of July. The owners said if they received more rain they would have to close again. The condition of the grounds was poor due to the recent flooding, and that is reflected in the price. It was OK for a place to stop for the night. The owners were there when we arrived, but the instructions on their voice mail are for self-registration. DO NOT follow your GPS instructions; you will end up on a dirt road in the middle of cornfields. The directions posted in the camping books are correct. We camped at Prairie Haven Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
