Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Madison, Madison, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We checked in and went directly to what was supposed to be our spot. Nope, another rig was already there. Office person came out and had us stay put. Spot was not level. Power and water were good. I did not hookup the sewer connection because it sticks up about 6-8" from the ground. Seems as though the neighbors on either side of us had their things in our area. No enforcement of any rules we could see. Clean and maintained but seems and feels old. We stopped for an over night. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Madison in a Motorhome.

This is one of the very best, friendliest, cleanest places aIf I could find any negatives it would be the roundabout on Three Notch Rd. Stay on Three Notch! If we should be back through here we'll stop again. We camped at All About Relaxing RV Park in a Motorhome.

Azalea Acres RV Park, Robertsdale, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here overnight on our return trip home. Friendly, accommodating staff. Very clean. Lots of long term people here including snowbirds. Our spot was a bit messy due to recent rain but jacks did not sink into the ground without pads. We camped at Azalea Acres RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lake City RV Resort (formerly Oaks "N" Pines), Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

An overnight stop on our way home. Close to I-10 but highway noise did not bother us. There is an on/off ramp within 30 seconds of campground entrance making access very easy. WiFi not very strong. Spots close together but not an issue for us. Very clean with very friendly staff. Roads in park are narrow but not an issue if you take your time. We camped at Lake City RV Resort (formerly Oaks "N" Pines) in a Motorhome.

John Prince Park Campground, Palm Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This has to be the best value in the state of Florida, perhaps in the U.S.A. Spotless campground set on a beautiful lake. Close to everything with the ocean only a few miles to the east. We arrived were checked into our spot in a couple of minutes. Office staff is friendly and very helpful. The office stays open until 9 every night. Our spot, #68, was right on the lake. We had a few ducks come to visit every day looking for food. Park rules forbid feeding any wildlife so the ducks left disappointed. All the hookups worked. Many snowbirds here because of the very low monthly rate, about $750 including electricity. The laundry room has eight washers and eight dryers. The machines work on tokens purchased at the office. Ten tokens cost $10. A load of wash is $2 and $1 for a long (an hour?) dryer. Everything was spotless. This was our second time here and we will come back again. Easy in and out. There is every type of restaurant or shopping one would need here. Our favorite park. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Myakka River RV Resort (formerly Venice / Myakka River KOA), Venice, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

This is an old park. We pulled into our assigned spot only to find out it was five feet from the very busy US 41, The Tamiami Trail. Constant traffic passing at 55 mph. When I attempted to hook up I found there was no functioning 50 amp service. After I went to the office and tracked down the clerk, he was pumping propane, a repair guy was sent immediately. This guy tested the 50 amp breaker and found it broken. A new breaker was installed. No problems after that. $80 a night on season way too high for what you get. The place did have clean grounds and facilitites. We camped at Myakka River RV Resort (formerly Venice / Myakka River KOA) in a Motorhome.

Back in spots. Our 35' RV just barely fit the spot. Not at all level. Front tires off the ground in order to level. It was quiet and clean. We camped at Sunrise RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Beautiful campground. Mostly park models for owners. Transient area is located in southeast back of park. As previously stated, sites are opposing pull throughs. Very clean with good power and water. Lots of activities to keep you busy. Transient guests can partake as much or as little as they wish. Very clean laundry room with many washers/ dryers. Surprise is a great place with lots to do and places to see. Restaurants abound. We were here for Spring Training. We camped at Sunflower Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Hilltop RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The park is clean and quiet although it appears to be just a gravel lot. When we arrived, the office was closed but our reservation and instructions were in the late arrival box. I did not get the chance to read the paperwork because the owner showed up immediately. He was friendly and very helpful. The spot, 42, was clean and level. The water and power all worked. It was busy the night we were here but still quiet. Noise from the interstate was minimal. We did not use the bath house but did check it out and found it spotless. The WiFi was okay, not fast but it did work. We will be staying here again on our return trip later this month. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ray Roberts Lake State Park / Johnson Branch Unit, Valley View, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2013 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful rural location. Far enough from Dallas/Fort Worth to make it a true out in the country experience. Friendly staff helps gets you in the spot of your choice but reserve early and get there early as the choice spots on the lake go very quickly. Weekends in season are full. Roomy spots but some are shorter than others. The office has a color photo of every spot making your choice easier. Very family friendly. We camped at Ray Roberts Lake State Park / Johnson Branch Unit in a Motorhome.

Lake City RV Resort (formerly Oaks "N" Pines), Lake City, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $18.00

Would have been a 10 if the Wi-Fi was better. Used my Verizon 4G phone to tether the laptop. Spots are tight fitting but we were guided in by the friendly owner and assured our slides would be just fine....they were. Be advised that if you are a light sleeper the IH-10 traffic noise might bother you. It did not bother me. We camped at Lake City RV Resort (formerly Oaks "N" Pines) in a Motorhome.

John Prince Park Campground, Palm Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is, without a doubt, the nicest park we have ever visited. We were in a beautiful site that backed up to the lake. The park employees could not have been nicer. Most of the people here are snowbirds. We intend to come back. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Texas Motor Speedway, Fort Worth, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Went here when the price was reduced for the "off" season. A nice park but we have been to much nicer and far less expensive parks. $65 on season is ridiculous. It is clean and the senior citizen staff attentive. Over priced and nothing special. I believe this city owned park on a Corps of Engineers park takes advantage of its central Dallas/Fort Worth to overcharge customers. We camped at Texas Motor Speedway in a Motorhome.
