Shady Grove Campground, Denver, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Though I hate to do this I have to state the naked truth about what is going on at this camp ground. We have stayed here several years and in the last couple of years the camp has become filled with pipeline workers. These campers leave there trailers with a mess of items outside which makes the campground look messy. They get up and leave early in the morning, disregarding the quiet hours posted. And because the CG is almost full of "seasonal" workers the owner has increased the daily rate to $53. This rate is WAY too high for a gravel parking lot with no landscaping, a dilapidated toilet facility, and gravel roads so your unit becomes dust covered because of all the workers leaving and golf carts running around. I suggest going to one of the CGs close by - much nicer and a more reasonable rate. We will not be back! We camped at Shady Grove Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Arrowhead Marina & RV Park, Schenectady, New York

Nice local campground on the river. Sat and watched the boats on the river. Unique layout with circular drives and back-in sites. Some pull-throughs but not needed unless double pulling. We camped at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Canandaigua / Rochester KOA, Farmington, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Busy weekend, lots of kids around. Some areas close in to each other but in the pull-through sites there is more space around you. Lots of fun items for kids to do (we are retired but enjoy seeing the kids play). We camped at Canandaigua / Rochester KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Trails RV Park, Walker, Minnesota

Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

The park has quite a few full timers in either park models or RVs set up with full time hook-ups. The transient sites are all very large either pull thru's or back ins. Limited cable hook-up (a dozen channels). The reason I gave it an 8 is because the water smelled so bad it made me sick. I don't know if it's because they just opened, bad pipes, or what but it smelled like metal. We camped at Trails RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA, Fort Mill, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

DO NOT STAY HERE! It has become a trash hole, hard to get into and sites are small. We told them we need a spot for a 40' 5th and we were given one that our back end is in the brush and the front is just off the road. The first thing you see when pulling in is NO OFFICE, it's in the Valero gas station 100 yards back. And the first two trailers are home made with trash all around them. KOA should drop this kampground - it's the WORST KOA we've ever stayed in and not up to KOA standards. We camped at Charlotte / Fort Mill KOA in a Motorhome.

Grand Lake RV Resort, Citra, Florida

Date of Stay: December, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The site are extremely large and long. If you like golfing then this is a great RV location for you. I don't golf but still enjoyed the beautiful weather. A few activities provided by the park, it needs to develop more. If you like restaurants the one on site is more than adequate but most others are 20 miles away in Ocala or Gainesville. I don't like their mail service - they collect it and put in open pigeon holes, often in the WRONG box. So I switched to GD at the local P.O. We camped at Grand Lake RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Enfield / Rocky Mount KOA, Enfield, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The owners were gone for a week and were replaced by work campers from Florida. Very nice couple, interested in our knowing about the campground. This is not a destination CG but rather a way stop on trip up or down I-95. The husband worker helped remove and install my 40lb. LP tank. We camped at Enfield / Rocky Mount KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort & Marina, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Not cheap but IT IS a resort facility on the island. Has beautiful paved sites that you get to choose by riding around in a golf cart with a map of available sites. Sites are owner provided when not occupied so there may be limited selection in summer. Very friendly staff, people in the park and other visitors. Near to almost all attractions on the island, nearby Bluffton and Beaufort. We camped at Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort & Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

Myrtle Beach KOA, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground with friendly staff. Easy access to the beach. Camped here over the Thanksgiving holiday, not crowded but lots of travelers in the campground. Has lots of family-oriented playgrounds, pool and a big bouncy that draws the kids to jump and play. Sites can be close so I wouldn't stay here long term but a week or two would be great. Trees abound so lots of shade, squirrels and leaves in the fall. We camped at Myrtle Beach KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Shenandoah Hills Campground, Madison, Virginia

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are somewhat level, roads are full of holes and very narrow. CG looks like it hasn't been worked on in several years. People are friendly, host lead us to the site and made sure we got set up. As we were unhitching a wild turkey flew in and landed in the site next to us. We camped at Shenandoah Hills Campground in a Motorhome.

Patten Pond RV Campground, Ellsworth, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Except it is "Patten" Pond. Wide open sites to wooded depending on what you want. We camped up top in an open site with room for slide outs and awnings. It can be noisy on weekends but during the week is quiet. Tries to do it all and reminds me of a KOA run campground: kids areas, tent areas, seasonal area, big RV area and even has cabins. I would stay here again if I ever get back this way. We camped at Patten Pond RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Wolfeboro Campground, Wolfeboro, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice, friendly campground with clean showers & restrooms. The sites are shady, wide and mostly flat. Some rocks and trees make some sites a challenge to get into, but you should be able to do it. The camp host is very helpful and friendly so if you need directing ask him. A gazebo is available for bug free communing. It is popular so make reservations early. If it had 50 amp and cable TV I would give it a 10! We camped at Wolfeboro Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Riverbend RV Resort, South Tamworth, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access off of Rt. 25 in Lake Region of New Hampshire near Ossipee and Center Harbor. The park roads are gravel, most sites are gravel with some hard pack dirt. The campground is very woodsy looking but no tree problems, clean restrooms and sites wide enough for large slides. You have to watch out for the granite boulders that are every where. The owners are very helpful with any problems you have (we did and the owner helped tremendously). If you like sleeping in it is absolutely quiet...this ones for you. Very restful. We camped at Riverbend RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Travelers Woods, Bernardston, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: July, 2011 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice campground situated in a difficult spot to get too. One direction has a 11' clearance at a railroad bridge. The way in for big rigs has a narrow, two way "Y" that slopes to right and down hill. But you can negotiate it, just go slow. We plan on staying there again but you do hear the trucks (minimally) on I-91 at night. We camped at Travelers Woods in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice quiet campground. Has a low electric line but slid over my 13'6" with no problem. Could hang up if you have a sat dish though. We camped at Clayton Park Recreational Area in a Fifth Wheel.
