Aune-Osborn Campground, Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Husband & Wife team do a great job managing this city owned park. The phone seems to never stop ringing with people wanting changes which they work to accommodate as much as possible. Great place for viewing the ships. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Motorhome.

Wapakoneta KOA, Wapakoneta, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Great place. Husband and wife owners take great care of it. Grounds nicely taken care of. Had to change reservation on short notice. They went out of their way to shift other things around so we could have our requested spot. Very nice of them. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.

Countryside Campground, Harrison, Michigan

Overall Rating:

Really enjoy staying here. When built, someone took the time to plant many trees. Lots of shade with nicely maintained grass underneath. No dirt or mud. We camped at Countryside Campground in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Hagerstown, Williamsport, Maryland

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $128.00
Overall Rating:

Kid friendly. Very large place. Lots of people. That being said, I'm sure my 7 yr old granddaughter would give this place a 9 or 10. Pool is too small. They need to expand main pool. That many people in a small pool led to some real dirty water. Maximum occupancy? Front pool is nice but not cleaned one day. Water all cloudy when opened. Pool hours horrible. 80deg at 9am. Pool not open until 11am. Pool closes too early, 6 - 7pm and Water slide hours horrible. Almost all sites unlevel to the point of front wheels off ground. Nice playground in 700's area in hot sun with no shade. No benches for adults to watch the kids play. No benches near any of the playgrounds throughout campground. (Please put them under awnings if you install some). Check out time 11am. Check in time 3pm? Four hours to do what? Lawn wasn't cut. You can check in early IF your site is unoccupied day before (for a small fee or course). We're talking about maybe a dozen sites turning over on a daily basis. 3pm is about 3 hours too late. Lots of sunbrellas at pool but they shade and not block sun. Large sitting area under building overhang fills fast. Speakers for pool music blaring loudly in your ears if you desire to sit in shade. Perhaps more speakers scattered throughout the area operated at lower volume instead of 2 speakers in one location for entire area? Corporate owned. Appears to only want one shift of lifeguards so pool hours suffer. Some facility upgrades noticed over the years. New table near ice cream shop. Paved main road was nice to see. Staff friendly and available for helping when needed. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Hagerstown in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Hagerstown, Williamsport, Maryland

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

They created "red carpet" sites. A couple are nice but I don't think any of them are worthy of the being called red carpet. Yes they are paved, yes they have a grill, but the one I had was small and crammed into the area. We like preferred spots, they are spaced out better however, almost all spots in this area are not level at all. Grass was not cut, weeds growing in gravel. Pool water was filthy. Pool is very small with half of it roped off to be a landing area for water slides. Splash pad area is great for the kids. For the size of this campground, they should really put in another pool besides the small one up front for just swimming. I come her for my granddaughter, otherwise I wouldn't camp here at all. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Hagerstown in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Hagerstown, Williamsport, Maryland

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

Great place. Extensive recreation team to keep everyone busy, as there should be for the price. Some issues: many of the sites are not level at all. Grass not cut for two weeks on preferred spot. For the money, would expect a bit more effort for site upkeep. Overall, great place. Granddaughter loves it. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Hagerstown in a Motorhome.

Paradise Point RV Park, DeTour Village, Michigan

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful new park on a small bay on the St. Mary river. Most sites, some pull-in, some back-in, offer views up the bay onto the main river. Ore boats can be viewed making their turn around Lime Island. Big rig friendly. Our site was huge, providing ample room for our 37' motorhome and our minivan. Adjacent sites, measured by me, were 65' and 70'. Full hookups and firewood for sale. I had Directv and great ATT on my site. Owner rebuilt a small marina to include a couple of docks and a boat launch. Campground is quiet and natural. No outdoor lighting obscured our nighttime star viewing. As mentioned, gated access so reservations required. Owners replied promptly to texts and emails when coordinating reservations and access. Bring your canoe or kayaks as the campground area would be perfect for either. Will camp here again. We camped at Paradise Point RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Detour is a real quiet part of the UP. We found it very different from the Soo and Munising. The small town was very appealing without having to live like Grizzly Adams or fight other RV'ers for a first come/first service no reservation campspot.

Renfro Valley RV Park, Mount Vernon, Kentucky

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Just a 50 amp full hookup pull through in a field. Trash from last tenant was on my site. I called office and asked them to pickup. It was there the next morning. Recently rained so underwater about an inch near hookups but not too muddy. We camped at Renfro Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Woodland Park Campground, Grand Marais, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

If you are still looking for that Shangri-La in the UP, think again. Grand Marais has been found! The campground still will not create a reservation system which leaves you with the big 25 mile gamble. In their eyes everyone is a winner - nobody turned away - even if that means sitting in a field with no hookups. Some staff seemed to be really annoyed to answer simple questions. Practice the game of site shuffle to get what you really want. If you really want to come to see Grand Marais, I would recommend staying somewhere else and making this place a day trip. My least favorite campground in the UP but find myself forced to use this mismanaged campground for family reasons. We camped at Woodland Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Hagerstown, Williamsport, Maryland

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

Preferred spots are real nice. Landscaping good, good amount of space. As with the other large camping area, it was built on a slight grade, just enough that you have to level a lot. My rear tires almost had to go off the ground in one row. WIFI down the entire weekend. Lots of staff running around on golf carts including one guy who seemed to have a free ice cream in his hand the entire weekend, must be the owners son. Can't reach the office on the phone most the time. The system loops you to a recording. Not sure why they can't have someone answer the phone. They kept my card on file but every time I went to the store, the procedures were different. One time last three digits, one time nothing, one time, sign something. Easy on/off the highway, trees not an issue. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Hagerstown in a Motorhome.

Woodland Park Campground, Grand Marais, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Only campground in town. Sites range from huge to tiny, level to unlevel. No reservations so it is a hit or miss of what you end up with. Town squeezed in as many as they could in some sections. Some sites have unobstructed views of Lake Superior, some have too much brush/trees to see the lake. Lost many of their old growth beech trees a few years ago. Doesn't appear that township has any plans on fixing up sites in this cash-cow campground. Long way to drive for a tiny spot that sits in the sun. We camped at Woodland Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Anchor Down RV Resort, Dandridge, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

The owners obviously spent a fortune on hard-scape to put this campground on a slope down toward the water. It is severely lacking in green, though. I almost felt like I was in Arizona or something. Lots of pavement, rock, but not much shrubbery or trees. Staff was real friendly, facilities fantastic. View was awesome. Great Wi-Fi. We camped at Anchor Down RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Kozy Rest, Harrisville, Pennsylvania

Overall Rating:

Was here fathers day weekend. This place was hopping. Management did a superb job keeping things going. A real family place. If you don't like kids, stay away. Pool could use a makeover to double its size. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Kozy Rest in a Motorhome.
