Beautiful new park on a small bay on the St. Mary river. Most sites, some pull-in, some back-in, offer views up the bay onto the main river. Ore boats can be viewed making their turn around Lime Island. Big rig friendly. Our site was huge, providing ample room for our 37' motorhome and our minivan. Adjacent sites, measured by me, were 65' and 70'. Full hookups and firewood for sale. I had Directv and great ATT on my site. Owner rebuilt a small marina to include a couple of docks and a boat launch. Campground is quiet and natural. No outdoor lighting obscured our nighttime star viewing. As mentioned, gated access so reservations required. Owners replied promptly to texts and emails when coordinating reservations and access. Bring your canoe or kayaks as the campground area would be perfect for either. Will camp here again.

Just a 50 amp full hookup pull through in a field. Trash from last tenant was on my site. I called office and asked them to pickup. It was there the next morning. Recently rained so underwater about an inch near hookups but not too muddy.

If you are still looking for that Shangri-La in the UP, think again. Grand Marais has been found! The campground still will not create a reservation system which leaves you with the big 25 mile gamble. In their eyes everyone is a winner - nobody turned away - even if that means sitting in a field with no hookups. Some staff seemed to be really annoyed to answer simple questions. Practice the game of site shuffle to get what you really want. If you really want to come to see Grand Marais, I would recommend staying somewhere else and making this place a day trip. My least favorite campground in the UP but find myself forced to use this mismanaged campground for family reasons.

Preferred spots are real nice. Landscaping good, good amount of space. As with the other large camping area, it was built on a slight grade, just enough that you have to level a lot. My rear tires almost had to go off the ground in one row. WIFI down the entire weekend. Lots of staff running around on golf carts including one guy who seemed to have a free ice cream in his hand the entire weekend, must be the owners son. Can't reach the office on the phone most the time. The system loops you to a recording. Not sure why they can't have someone answer the phone. They kept my card on file but every time I went to the store, the procedures were different. One time last three digits, one time nothing, one time, sign something. Easy on/off the highway, trees not an issue.

Only campground in town. Sites range from huge to tiny, level to unlevel. No reservations so it is a hit or miss of what you end up with. Town squeezed in as many as they could in some sections. Some sites have unobstructed views of Lake Superior, some have too much brush/trees to see the lake. Lost many of their old growth beech trees a few years ago. Doesn't appear that township has any plans on fixing up sites in this cash-cow campground. Long way to drive for a tiny spot that sits in the sun.

The owners obviously spent a fortune on hard-scape to put this campground on a slope down toward the water. It is severely lacking in green, though. I almost felt like I was in Arizona or something. Lots of pavement, rock, but not much shrubbery or trees. Staff was real friendly, facilities fantastic. View was awesome. Great Wi-Fi.

Was here fathers day weekend. This place was hopping. Management did a superb job keeping things going. A real family place. If you don't like kids, stay away. Pool could use a makeover to double its size.

Good stop over place. Didn't find the hills inside the campground to be a problem. Had one front tire off the ground to level.

Nothing special. Located in a very busy area. Main road down the middle with a lot of spots off the sides. They love pea gravel. It was too thick on many spots. Several spots are not level at all, even though the surrounding area is not real uneven. They love rules here. They need to get rid of 98% of the speed bumps. Ridiculous. 4 of them near the office. Office worker jumped out in front of us when leaving wanting to know what site we were on. Won't stay here again.

Nice no-frills campground easy off I-95. Fantastic Wi-Fi. Was able to update all firmwares, finally. Satellite friendly (DirecTV) on spots 4 and 5. Really liked the atmosphere. Lots of Spanish moss. Owner seemed to be running around all the time taking care of guests and greeting new ones. Trash picked up promptly. Rule asking campers to turn off AC when not in RV is real awkward. Owners need to accept this as a cost of running a campground and should not make campers feel guilty about busting rules for leaving AC running when gone. Remove the rule. I don't want to come back from sightseeing and have to cool down a 100deg RV. I will come back to this campground. For rail fans: This campground is real close to the Folkston Funnel. It is as close you will get for having a nice campground.

Called ahead to make a reservation in their new area. Was told they weren't needed, just come in. There was only 1 spot left when we showed up. We were in the new area. Open field, gravel spots. Full hookups. They are close to level but not really. One front tire almost off the ground. Would hate to be in this spot when it rains, as the gravel was getting real thin in areas with only dirt showing. No Wi-Fi signal in this area but real good cable.

Nicely taken care of. Premium spots are really nice, but should be for the price. Road in from US-1 (Kennett Square) is an adventure. Had some brush rubbing on side of rig.

Noisy. Manager is not friendly at all. Over priced. Do not complain, they could care less if you camp here or not. They are the only game in town and know it. Pass it up if you can.

This is our second visit. I would not camp here except family is close. Stayed in premium site this time. The sites have nice patios but overall seem very neglected. The patio is paved while the parking spot is gravel. They are huge but are starting to get overgrown with some weeds. For the price, I expect better grounds maintenance, especially in the premium sites. Roads in campgrounds are still horrible. Some long term residents.

Drive in from US-1 was horrible. Roads in the campground were horrible. Some spots really close to each other, some OK width. Cable on my spot was horrible. Had to use a tripod to get Directv. Wi-Fi was real slow. Nice appearance in campground. Clean looking. Camp here because it is the only place around.
