Gulf State Park Campground, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park that has something for everyone and has a site for any type of camping equipment you may have....it's clean, well ran and has miles and miles of hiking and biking trails....services are great, with nice level sites that view the water or are more settled back in the woods....not all the sites have a fire ring but we went to the local Walmart and bought a fire pit for a great price which mad our site and stay complete.....no doubt about it we will be back..... We camped at Gulf State Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Buccaneer State Park, Waveland, Mississippi

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

We had reserved site 204, but when we arrived we decided to take one of the gulf view sites near the front entrance so this review is about that site.....our site was level and had a great view of the gulf, you are near the highway so there is some traffic noise but it didn't bother us...site was grass and big rig friendly....there are only water and electric at these sites as opposed to the rest of the park which are full hookups...there are no shade trees on these sites so it would be very warm in July or August...services worked fine...We got AT&T Cell signal and used our hotspots, also got plenty of over the air channels with the antenna.....during the summer this park has a lot going on, but this time of the year the pools and things look like that are closed for the season.....the park is very level so you can ride your bike around the park or on the main road near the water, there is also a nature trail inside the park or you can walk along the path on the sea wall...the staff was excellent and the laundry facilities were very good...A lot to do and see around the area, we will definitely return.... We camped at Buccaneer State Park in a Motorhome.

LeFleurs Bluff State Park, Jackson, Mississippi

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

This was a stop over for the night on our way elsewhere...the park is easy to find and close to the interstate but in a very peaceful area that you hear very little noise...the sites are large and very shady and most sites have a good view of the lake with some sites that backup to the lake....showers were clean wth good hot water....our services worked good and we had good cell service and alot of over the air channels....this is a nice place to spend a few days if in the area...we'd stay here again if in the area or passing thru... We camped at LeFleurs Bluff State Park in a Motorhome.

Columbus-Belmont State Park, Columbus, Kentucky

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This is our favorite Ky state park because of location.....this is a small park with a lot of character......the campground is small but the sites are large and some with full hookups...the sites that overlook the Mississippi River are fantastic....we sit and watch the barges go up and down the river all day and night....our site was large with full hookups and everything worked great...the showers and laundry were clean and had plenty of hot water....the park is in a quiet area and it's very peaceful...there is a short nature walk around the park and the history and exhibits around the park make for a very enjoyable stay... We camped at Columbus-Belmont State Park in a Motorhome.

Kentucky Dam State Park, Draffenville, Kentucky

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped for a couple of days on our way elsewhere...there were only 3 spots taken out of 212....it's had to review when it's not busy but I would think that during the summer and weekends it could be very busy and hard to get around...some of the sites are short and close together, most are level and have some shade....our site was large, and a lot of shade and the services worked great....showers were clean but I like more hot water when showering but it was ok...we had AT&T Cell signal and used our hot spots for WiFi....picked up a few channels with our antenna....easy access off the parkway and a lot in the area to see.... We camped at Kentucky Dam State Park in a Motorhome.

Elkmont Campground (NPS Campground), Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

we Had no problem getting our 36' mh in our spot, but I wouldn't go much bigger...this campground is older and was made for tents and smaller travel trailers...our spot was l3vel and had plenty of shade... there are no services since this is a national park...didn't use the restroom so I can't comment but I heard from my brother that it was clean....no WiFi, cell service or tv signal...spots are spacious and paved with table, and fire ring....there is no water spigot at the campground, you have to fill your tank at the dump station across from the sugarlands visitors center about 5 miles from campground so be prepared....we would stay here again... Cumberland Gap National Historic Park / Wilderness Road Campground, Ewing, Virginia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the few national park campgrounds with electric and hot showers...sections B and C have 50 amp service....no water or sewer but you can fill your tank with fresh water and their is also a dump station.....park is big rig friendly and most of the sites are level although ours was a challenge....all sites are asphalt and their is alot of shade and sites are somewhat private....the host was very friendly and helpful....the showers were big and plenty of hot water... everything was very clean....this is a very nice national park with a lot of hiking and some biking trails, a lot to do in the area and shopping with restaurants nearby....cell service ATT was fine so we used our hotspots for WiFi and was able to pickup several tv stations with antenna....this campground is first come first serve so no reservations....we will be back again.... Virginia's Beach Campground, North Springfield, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Most of the sites are in a open field, with little shade. Our site was sloped front to back but a few blocks took care of it. The sites are big rig friendly and the owner leads you to the site. Our site had 30 amp with full hookups and all services worked good.

Their WiFi is not bad even with a full campground. There was no cell service ATT. We got about 10 over the air channels.

The shower and restroom was up the hill behind our site but it was clean and had plenty of hot water. It is a gated park that you get a access card for a $10 deposit. Overall the park is quiet, a little off the beaten path but manageable, and the trains in the distance are a nice touch but they do run day and night.

The biggest asset here is the views of Lake Erie and the fantastic sunsets. Just sit and enjoy the view during the day and the stars at night with a campfire. We would return if in the area. We camped at Virginia's Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The staff was friendly and helpful...this is your typical koa, sites ar close together but they are level and the services worked great....campground is big rig friendly, most sites are gravel with very little shade and no barrier between sites...good ATT service and WiFi was ok, but we used hotspots instead...the laundry that I used had one washer and two drivers but they and/or it worked fine.....the restrooms were ok but the shower had a small problem, when someone was doing a load of wash the water for shower would stop when washer was filling or rinsing, at first I didn't realize what was happening but I figured it out I think, with a head full shampoo and no water, so I waited and yes the water came back on and off several more times but I managed to get my shower in, so beware...management was told of problem....but like other reviews the showers could use a makeover and more stalls...a little bit of a drive from interstate but we did it with our 36' mh pulling toad, a lot of places to eat and shop in nearby towns.... We camped at Northampton / Springfield KOA in a Motorhome.

This campground is in the country where it is quiet and peaceful....our site was very shady, level and had privacy from the next site....electric and water were good, no sewers but easy to get to dump station....the owners are very friendly and helpful...we had no ATT cell service but had decent WiFi....got a few over the air tv channels....beautiful location for visiting the surrounding area, a lot of shopping and good places to eat...shower and restrooms are in the main building, they are small but manageable....they have sites that are open next to a lake but we choose the woods....we would stay here again.... Seawall Campground (NPS Campground), Southwest Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is a National Park campground so of course, no hookups. Site was fairly level and grass with a lot of shade. The first 10 sites are side by side so your neighbor will be very close, so choose sites starting with 11. Water spigots throughout the campground and dump station is in a good location. We were 36' and managed the roads but I wouldn't go any bigger, just enough room for the toad. Restrooms were some the best I've seen in a national park campground. Staff was very friendly and helpful especially the park ranger lady. She helped us a lot. A great location for seeing the park and the seawall is right across the street from the campground: you can walk, bike or drive. Beautiful location and we would definitely come back. We camped at Seawall Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

The staff was some of the nicest people I've ever meet, they lead you to your site and help you get backed in and will do anything for you, my hats off to them...all sites seem to be fairly level and the campground is big rig friendly...our site was gravel but some are grass...we only had electric, water and cable which all worked great....we had some shade but some sites do not.....we requested a water front site and boy this is the best spot in the campground, in my opinion...the water was at the most 150' or less from our spot...restrooms and showers were clean with plenty of hot water....cell service and wifi were good, with about 45 cable channels....the campground has lobster dinners on the weekends cooked right in the campground...would definitely stay here again....
