Fall Creek Falls State Park, Spencer, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very large state park that has everything....our site was big but like most of the sites they are a little to a lot unlevel so bring your blocks or 2 x 12's, but don't let that keep you from this campground....services were all fine, ATT cell signal was good and they have WiFi thru Tangonet, which is free or they have plans if u need to stream....we got several ota channels....the restrooms were clean and the showers had such great water pressure that you don't need soap, the water will blast the dirt away...they sell wood at the check-in and stores or they will let you collect wood from around the park that is down and cut up...each site has a picnic table and fire ring...the park has everything you want or need, stores, pool, restaurant, snack bar, Trails hiking and biking, falls, swimming, fishing and a lot of peace and relaxation.....they park does show some age and could use some maintenance but don't let it discourage you...we will be back if in the area.....I like the idea of each camping site has their own trash can that they come around and collect, staff was friendly and there is a camping site for all types here..... We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Motorhome.

Adventure Bound Camping Resort Gatlinuburg, Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was large and long. It was not level side to side but with a few blocks it was fine. I've seen worse. Getting in and out of some sites could be tough if the park is full. There are a lot of trees which is good but not when trying to enter or exit a site. Our services worked fine but our sewer hookup was up hill so draining was a hassle. ATT cell service was good and their WiFi was good. A lot of cable channels. This park has a lot going on and is family oriented. The check-in staff was friendly and we always saw staff getting trash or driving around the park. The restrooms and showers were clean but there is no separate changing area in the showers so you have to hang your belongings outside the shower door so they don't get wet, more of a hassle than anything. They need to add gravel to the sites because if it rains the sites could get muddy. There were a lot of gnats or mosquitoes flying around some of the sites which was annoying at times. Overall the campground was ok but with all the choices there are in this and the surrounding area, I would look for someplace else next time. We camped at Adventure Bound Camping Resort Gatlinuburg in a Motorhome.

Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground, Asheville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was level but backing into some of these sites can be a problem because of the sharp incline from the road to the site, I saw a couple of motorhomes drag their backend on the incline while backing in, this could be a problem with some longer wheel based mh, this park is for the most part big rig friendly...our services worked great and our site was long enough for the toad also....cell service ATT was good but their WIFI was ok until the park got full then it was non existent, their cable was good with lots of channels...the restrooms and showers were clean with lots of hot water, did not use laundry but it was clean and all machines appeared to be in working order....no ground fires are allowed, City ordinance, but you can use your fire pit if u have one like us.....the other main problem with this park is there is no where to hook up your toad when leaving, there is a short strip while leaving the park but you could be blocking outgoing campers and it's on a down hill slope which sometimes can be a problem....this park is close to everything including the Biltmore which is about 5 miles from the park, easy access from interstate....staff was friendly, but with all the choices to camp at in Asheville I would look somewhere else the next time, but I would return here if I had too....there can be a lot of traffic noise from the interstate that can/could be a problem for some of us... We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Newton KOA , Newton, Iowa

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is probably one of the nicest KOAs we have stayed at. Easy access from I-80 and your hosts are very nice people. The sites are typical of a KOA close but the grounds are very nice grass cut and everything around looks very nice and taken care of. Sites are level and have some shade. The restrooms and showers are very clean and modern, the shower head is the best I've ever used at a shower in any campground. The services are excellent, WiFi very good, they have cable but we choose to do OTA channels and got 36 of them. Cell ATT very good. Sorry to say we were just over night guess leaving in the morning. We will return..... We camped at Newton KOA in a Motorhome.

Cabela's RV Park & Campground, Sidney, Nebraska

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great overnight stopping spot. Our site was level and full hookup with easy access to I80. The showers, restrooms and laundry were clean and the laundry was $1 for wash and $1 dry. Cell service ATT was great along with their WiFi which was excellent. Cable tv has numerous channels. This is a first come first serve campground so get here early to get a spot. You can't beat the price. There is a Walmart close by as well as a lot of restaurants. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Cabela's RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Get your site setup and then go to the main store to pay or use cash or check to pay at the self service at the campground. A lot of campgrounds ought to look at how Cabela's doesn't overcharge the customer for the services they offer.

Volcano Country Camping and RV, Mineral, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Our back-in site was level and shady, all sites that I saw are back-in but we had no problems with our 36' MH. Check-in is at the country store just before the park if going East on rt 36. Full hookup with 30 amp and all services worked OK. We had a decent ATT cell signal and used our hotspots. There is no WiFi, no cable or OTA TV channels. The park sits back off the main road so there is no road noise. We didn't need to use our A/C, but if you do, the campground wants to charge $2 a day extra. Not a good idea in my opinion since I have already paid the site fee. The shower and toilet, yes just one each for each gender for 35 sites, could get to be a long line if this park is busy. Lucky for us we were the only campers besides one other gentlemen. They were clean but could use some updating. The shower walls show a lot of rust stain from the hard water but I have seen worse and there was plenty of hot water. Very close to Lassen Volcanic NP. Their store has everything you need and their restaurant has some great food with generous portions, but a little pricey. We would stay here again if nothing else was available in the National Park. For the price it was OK for our 2 day stay....the park just needs some TLC. Make sure your MH and/or vehicles are full of gas before arriving. The closet gas station is 25 miles in Chester. We camped at Volcano Country Camping and RV in a Motorhome.

Elk Country RV Resort & Campground, Trinidad, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We changed our mind once getting here and took a meadow site instead of a wooded site...all of these sites are level and have full hookups.....checkin was very good...our services worked great, they do have well water so you may want to bring your own bottles of water for drinking although we didn't have any problems with the water....the campground was nearly empty so the spaces between sites were nice but with a full campground you will be somewhat close but tolerable....cell service ATT was ok and their WiFi was good also...they have WiFi plans that will cost you if you like to stream movies etc....we did not get any ota channels but that was ok with us....the restrooms and showers were clean with plenty of hot water, we did not use the laundry...we saw the elk in the field but they did not come into the campground the 2 days we were here, but watch your step they have been here at one time or another....this is a quiet place just off hwy 101 it's a great location to visit Redwood NP and other sites in the area....we would stay here again if in the area..... Osprey Point RV Resort, Lakeside, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

Our pull thru site was very level as where all sites, not a lot of shade...there are what seems to be a lot of permanent or seasonal campers here but I must admit that as full as the park was it was one of the quietest parks we have ever been to.....our services worked great, good cell ATT signal and their WiFi was very good considering the large number of campers here....the sites are pretty close and not a lot of privacy but they have everything you need right there in the campground including a restaurant....the restrooms and showers were clean and a lot of hot water....checkin was very smooth with nice people at the desk...when the park is full like it was a big rig could have a problem with a back in site but I have seen worse so it is doable....this is a nice stop for a day or two but not as a destination site in my opinion....we would stay here again if in the area..... This is a very nice park with level sites that are somewhat close, some have shade and others are full sun, full hookups, cable or ota channels, very good WiFi, good ATT cell signal and a nice pool...Check in was very nice and the showers are very clean as well as the park itself...the laundry is excellent as u can use your debit card to pay for the $2 washer or $2 45 min dryer no hassle with quarters and have your cell phone text you when the washer or dryer is done...this is a very large RV Park that is big rig friendly and has 3 different levels...you can also wash your RV for $5, a nice thing if your take the time like we did....a lot of shopping, restaurants near by, close to I84 and a nice drive to the Falls or Mt Hood...sometimes a park like this is nice relief from the dirt and grass of a state park with no cable or WiFi....we would stay here again if in the area.... Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

First off the park is big rig friendly and all the sites are large and level with NO shade with easy access off hwy 97....good cell signal, used our hotspots, did not get their cable tv box for a $50 deposit since we were there one night, did get 1 ota channel though....did not use the $5 a hour laundry with a $20 deposit, wasn't sure what that was all about, nor did I take a $2(toonie) 4 minute shower either, this place was not getting any more of my money other than my site charge.....started in site 10 but the electric had such a voltage drop that nothing would run correctly in the mh....talked to fella in office and he said that I was running too many things, mind you it was 30 amps but I know when I'm running too much amperage versus a voltage drop....the fella let me change to spot 3, the voltage was better but it still was having a drop now and then.....we made it thru the night and I will never return to this campground nor would I recommend it to anyone, stay somewhere else. We camped at Airport Inn Motel and RV Park in a Motorhome.
