Coyote Valley Resort is one of the top 100 RV resorts in the nation, and they deliver to earn this recognition. The park is super clean, with a great pool and clubhouse. The spaces and park are well maintained, and they provide daily garbage and recycling pickup. Note that I believe all of the spaces are back in, and because this is an upscale park I believe they require equipment that is no older than 10 years. Coyote Valley is close to San Jose, and with a bit of a drive you can go to San Francisco or the East Bay area without having to cross the Bay bridges, saving you tolls. Many of freeways converge in the South San Jose area near the resort. This is one of our favorite RV parks, and we'll continue staying here anytime we're in the Bay area.

El Capitan is an oceanfront State Park about 25 miles west of Santa Barbara. The best aspects to this park are its proximity to SB, as there aren't many campgrounds in the area, the ocean views and beach. It's right off of the 101 freeway, so it's very easy to access and can accommodate big rigs. The campground doesn't have any hookups or a dump station, so plan on dry camping. We paid $43, which included a $8 Reserve America fee, which seems high relative to the $35 price for the camping space and takes this from a reasonable price to a bit expensive.

This is a great, destination resort park in the LA area. It has grassy areas, shade trees, kids playgrounds, horseshoes, lake activities, an excellent market with DVD rentals, and a swimming pool. It's very close to two major freeways, but the park is so large that you don't hear any road noise and you feel like you're in the countryside. If you want to venture out to LA, while it's in the NE section of town, you can take I-10 to LA and Santa Monica or the 210 to Pasadena, along with freeways to other parts of town, making it a good base in LA. If not, this park makes for an excellent destination and getaway. This park was so impressive it make it to our list of favorites, and we would definitely return.
