This was our 3rd stay at Top Sail. We love it here. Lots of biking trails and if you don't want to bike down to the beach, there is a very convenient and friendly trolley. The only thing I regret is that we picked out several sites we really liked, but the park is so popular that you generally cannot get any of those sites because obviously we aren't the only ones who liked them. Spots in the newer section are the best, but spots in the older section are much shadier. We will definitely go back again and again.

Little Black Creek Water Park is BACK! We have loved this park from the beginning and were so sad to see it close. But it is definitely back and going strong. The park is prettier than ever with the extra clean-up the new managers are doing. The only downside at all for us was that some of the sites still only have the asphalt pad, which is really quite narrow and there were some major "drop-offs" from the asphalt to the ground on two of our sites and caused someone in our group to twist their ankle. I think that maybe they need to add the wooden decking around all sites to make them safer. However, I would go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend it. The camp store is very nice and includes just about everything you could want to purchase (including fresh meat) without having to drive to town.

We camped at Archusa on October 2-5, 2013. This is a very pretty park. We camped in #22 in Loop B and were right on the lake with a beautiful sunset view. Loop A appeared to have permanent residents and not nearly as pretty a view. Heard there are LOTS of fish, but we didn't have our equipment. Due to the wealth of trees, some of the sites are a bit hard to back into and anything larger than our 36 foot 5th wheel might have a hard time maneuvering, as there are a couple of large trees very close to the road. But it is well worth the effort. We will definitely return.

What a great campground. It was central to lots of activities, including tubing on Deep Creek, and tons of water adventures hosted by many different outfits on Highway 19. We also spent time in Cherokee and Maggie Valley, which are no more than 30 minutes away. We camped at the back with the mountain view, due to needing 50 amp for camper. But the creek-side spots were really the best (they only have two 50 amp spots in this section). The campground is very neat and the owners and staff were always very friendly and ready to help you find places and things to do. I would highly recommend this campground.

This is our second stay at this campground. It is really nice. A great place to ride bikes and several trails to walk. Customer service is good. We would stay here again.

This was fine for just a night or two. All sites are pull-through but very short. We were not the only campers with two vehicles, and it was hard to park and not "get in the grass," which was against the rules. Service to the site was good, but sites were unlevel and required a good many leveling blocks. There were no trees in site, so would be brutally hot in the middle of the summer. Also the garbage cans were the kind with tops and a narrow slit in the sides and was difficult to get your garbage into. We would stay here again for a short period.

This is a very small campground next to a marina. The marina is very nice and has great food and a bar (which means nightly activities). The sites are very short and very narrow. It rained and our steps led right down into a muddy area. Most sites sit right on the little road you take to pull in, so you are right in the traffic area. There are no restrooms or shower facilities. There are also a few permanent residents there, but it is directly across the entrance from River Bend Campground which has lots and lots of permanent residents. It was fine for meeting our friends to get on their boat and ride the river and go out to the islands, but would not stay there if there if not for that.

We took our first trip in our new fifth wheel at this park. We've been before in a travel trailer. I picked a bad site, which was a pull-through and not a shade in sight. The daytime temps were close to 100. We tried to move, but they would not let us. The lake is beautiful, as is the park. The downside is that they do NOT have ice machines in the park, and the only store has closed. So to get ice you have to drive to town, which isn't too bad, but still an annoyance. We just took the 30 minute trip back home and got our portable ice machine and only had to buy ice once. The only other annoyance was the ants. They were everywhere and seemed to be swarming. They actually crawled all over our camper and got inside. The park needs to do something about that. I still give this park a good rating because it is a beautiful setting.

This was our first stay at this park. We loved it. We brought our bikes and rode to the beach every day. It was great exercise. There is a shuttle for those who can't or don't want to bike or walk to the beach. We never rode the shuttle. The beach was wonderful. We always brought our lunch because it was too long a distance back and was very hot. Lovely grounds, quiet atmosphere, but very family and pet friendly. Had a small pool as well. Would highly recommend. We have already booked for next July 4th!

We stayed in the overflow area as the park was full. However, the overflow lot faced the river and turned out to be a pretty site. Our friends live in Gautier and have a boat. There is a great pier and good access to put a boat in the water. The camp sites looked a little close together, but had good shade. We had a great time, and I would recommend the park (just not the overflow section).

We love this State park. Some sites are easier to back into than others, but all sites are roomy. The park is great for bike riding, which we love. Most all sites are nicely shaded. We camp here often.
