Wayside Campground, Glen Margaret, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

I gave a one star due to the showers. The showers were absolutely disgusting. They are so old and mouldy. There are bugs and spiders all over and I mean lots not just one or two. I walked into one shower and right at face level were 2 huge spiders hanging from a strand. I went to another stall. Still spiders but at least not hanging in my face. The ceilings are all open to an attic full of bugs. The walls were pieced together. The shower stalls were so small you could not bend over. The floors and walls were dirty. One plus was there was very hot water. Actually too hot. Some child is going to get scalded. The taps leaked so out of the hot water tap would be running scalding hot water. One had to make sure you weren't under the tap. Truly the worst showers I have seen in 45 years of camping. The park itself was OK. Power post falling out of ground. Water tap leaked. Site smelled like sewer even though there was no sewer connection. There was a swampy sewer smell behind the site. They advertise WiFi but it does not work. I questioned them about the wifi and the guy said oh yeah it does not work very well and it costs too much to make it work. I said it does not work at all. He said come to the office and you might get on. Terrible attitude. Why advertise free wifi? We camped at Wayside Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg, Halifax. Turn left Out of the park and visit the dude in the painted house. Nee is a real character. I bought his book and a photo. Very talented man. Has lived in the house his whole life. I believe it was his grandmas house. Worth a visit. You can walk there as right next door.

Pacific Border RV Park, Surrey, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely RV Resort. Ladies in the park were extremely accommodating. Grassy sites. Clean gravel driveway. Cement patios. Spotless washrooms & showers. 20 minute shower for a Loonie. I know some will complain about being charged for a shower, but the loonie charge for 20 minutes is minimal compared to some where you get 3 minutes for a loonie. I had no problem with the minimal charge. That is one reason the showers are spotless. Quiet RV resort. Would certainly stay again. Highly recommended. We camped at Pacific Border RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Parkcanada RV Park and Tenting, Delta, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is the most disgusting campground we have found. It is filthy, and dusty. Grassy sites were promised but had no grass. There are old run down RV units. There is no 30 amp and the 20 amp did not work until the electrical box was giggled & the plug was twisted to make contact. Everything was corroded. We will never stay here again. We would rather use Walmart. We do not recommend it, even for one night. We camped at Parkcanada RV Park and Tenting in a Motorhome.
